I watched my first video of your information and I know I will be using more as I continue learning to use Auto Cad 2016. Thank you for the good job of teaching.
Thanks Brandon, I just started using AutoCAD again after a few years. You know what they say if you don't use it you lose it. Well thanks again for the refresher.
Hi brandon. I wonder if u could have shown some videos like importing half of the subdivision parcel of land with roads to the one i have already in my file and how could it be connect to other half with the same scale. Note that the import half parcel of subd drawing has some lines of power, and sewer and telephone line etc and i want that these stuff shall be removed to have the same with my original file which only shown the parcel and the roads.. thank you very much. awesome video and very easy to follow.
Hello... Am not able to fit my A3 landscape title block within the layout margin.. Can you help please.. The layout paper size is ANSI B ( 17.0 * 11.O INCHES)
Help! My plot-to-file (pdf) previews show everything ultra pixelated . Only when I zoom way into my layout can I get a clear unpixelated plot preview. When zoom extents and plot preview everything is pixelated again. --I've tried different plot styles and all of which have no effect and all layers are default lineweights, (which is .25) --PDF resolution is normal (600dpi) Bill
Thanks Kenneth! Yes you can edit title blocks in your layout, they edits will affect all of the layouts in your particular drawing if you are editing text that is part of the Block itself, like headings or say the work Project or Title. If you're editing the various attributes or individual text objects like the specific date, project name, initials etc then they are also editable in the layout but they will be specific to each layout sheet. Hopefully that helps! But just let me know if had any other questions. Cheers, Brandon
Brandon I follow all your steps on how to insert a title block on paper space. What happen when you don't see your title block when you insert it. Question, how can I plot a drawing on a 11 x 17 paper and keep the same size of my drawing when using a view port. Every time I plot my drawing and scale it, the drawing is smaller. Thank you for your help.
I'm fairly new to title blocks so forgive me if I seem thick but keep getting lost when scaling the title block. I must be doing something wrong or missing something as after I do scale and pinpoint left bottom corner after typing "R" and stretching across it does not allow me to go back to my actual page corner to make it fit. what am i doing wrong?
Brandon, I have an issue when moving a title block between drawings using the DesingCentre, everything changes position and scale (the block of the frame, the text, the images of companies' logos) I have no answer on the web, any advice?
dear please help me out when i draw rectangular shape of any dimension for example (22,56) it show large image and i cant realize i cant zoom out so please how to fix it i need a small object rather than large and also how to fix the cm,m,inch parameter
Good Job. I Have 1 Question . I just want to know ho to save many Drawings in Layout 2 ? Like as Architectural , Services & Shop Drawings in 1 file ? Thanks.
I just wanted to know how to create the block itself. I've been out of AutoCAD for at least 10 years and I'm starting a fresh, literally. Where I am initializing ALL templates. I just need some help/guidance in doing that.
Good video but I was wondering how do you get a drawing to scale so that when it prints the scale you used can be translated so that you can use a Arch. ruler to measure your drawing.? any thoughts
that's a great tutorial.. btw, do you know how to set more than 1 view port? let say I have a very big drawing, so I need to separate it into 3 drawings.. it means in 1 drawing will need 3 viewports.. 1 for the grid line on top side, 1 for the grid line on the left side, the last for the main drawing... and how to align the main drawing with the grid line? thx..
I have been out of using autocad for a while and I have just created my first drawing and it looks to be in the wrong scale The reason why I noticed it is I was getting ready to add the HV AC I couldn't add the 16in without it looking huge. I really need to finish this drawing by tomorrow can you can you please.
Hi Great Video. Thank you. Any chance you could show me how to turn an item in a Drawing to a Block. I know how to create a block but not when there are several items in a drawing and I only need one to be a block.
I open a new drawing with my title block in the layout 2 position and draw in model space but it will not "view" the drawing on the title block when I place a viewport there. Can anyone explain why? Is there some setting that Im not turning on or off on the tile block to see the drawing appear? I can put the viewport on layout 2 and it will appear, but not on my title block.
I figured it out...I think. I watched another video that said to type MVIEW as a command once the viewport is drawn...magically it appeared. I thought thats what was supposed to happen immediately after you draw the rectangle. I guess not, or some setting is off/on that disallows it from appearing then. Now I just need to figure out how to dimension after changing the scale to make the drawing fit on the title block via the viewport on that page.
First have a title block saved onto your computer. Then go to Insert as the video explained and instead of choosing your title block, select "More Options..." and you will see a dialog box pop up. You will see the Name field near the top of this dialog box. Select the Browse button to right of that Name field and locate your saved title block.
BRENDAN, GREAT VIDEO, IM INTERESTED IN MAKING MY TITLEBLOCK DYNAMIC BUT WANT TO USE 1 TITLEBLOCK FOR A4, A3,A1,AO PAPER SIZES - METRIC OF COURSE PLEASE HELP IN THE PARAMETERS FOR SCALING A BLOCK OR IF YOU CAN SUGGEST ANOTHER WAY THAT WOULD BE GREAT REGARDS DAZZA
Scale the Paper and Title Block,Never scale the Drawing.Say, you want to use A3 size paper ,A3 size is 297mm x 420mm and you want it to have in 1:50 just enlarged the Paper and Title Block in 50( scale it to 50).and so on.
sir i want to learn how to work in lay out with view port and how to set scale of view, and also tell about the big dwg how to divid in view port..if any one have tutorial please tell me or send a link :) m waiting

Hi Brandon, happy thanksgiving, I have a question, my model space scale doesn’t match with paper space scale. Do u know how to fix it? Ty
Your the man. Cheers
Thanks! Glad the video helped
Do you have anything in CAD 2018 how to make the title blocks with attributes.
hello. i want to print in 8.5x11. but when i save jpg. and print its too smalwhat should i do now ?
hey thanks! Brandon can we create multiple of sheet layouts in a single layout with different or same sizes?
Awesome Brandon! Great Job. My only question is that is it still possible to edit the title block words in the layout?
Thanks Kenneth!
Yes you can edit title blocks in your layout, they edits will affect all of the layouts in your particular drawing if you are editing text that is part of the Block itself, like headings or say the work Project or Title. If you're editing the various attributes or individual text objects like the specific date, project name, initials etc then they are also editable in the layout but they will be specific to each layout sheet.
Hopefully that helps! But just let me know if had any other questions.
Cheers,
Brandon
