    Bobby Chill!!! Welcome back!!
Yes sir there is a little different feel to this season! One thing you noticed was it looked cinematic when on planet. They changed the aspect ratio when scenes are on Illus!
They did a good job showing and feeling what it was like for Naomi to take her first steps onto an actual planet! So well done! Holden's mom asked why Naomi didn't go through all those treatments so they could meet her in person on Earth? Naomi loves Holden and respects his family but she is a Belter and in some ways it would be a betrayal to her people to go to Earth because the belters consider Earth as the oppressors of their race.
I absolutely love to see Drummer and Ashford working together! Every scene with them together is so good!
Beginning of the episode you see Amos talking to Peaches ( Clarissa). They implied that the Rocinante transported her back to Earth which took months to get there from the ring. So she got to spend time working with Amos. They kind of built a little mutual friendship.
Chrisjen is now Queen of Earth! She has never wanted power per say, but she has always wanted to do whatever it tskes to keep the people of Earth safe. Everyone working for her thinks their opinions are correct but she feels like they don't understand her fear of what the Protomolicule do by destroying the entire human race! Now that she is in complete control can she step into these shoes and walk the path of having all the responsibilities fall on her shoulders?
Looking forward to the next one!
P.S. yes season three is at the top of my favorite but season five is tied with it! I will say that the more I rewatch season four it keeps climbing the ladder!!

Welcome back Boi Chill. This season 4 is the great gold rush western theme. New characters and one of them is important to end of the series including the books. Go Brownie ruff, ruff, ruff!

To be clear, when the show moved over to Amazon no new money was added to the production. Amazon was just steaming. Per the producers of the show, they just got better at making the show.

And Alcon got free access to Amazon´s render farms.

Definitely HAVE to read the books especially for 7,8, and 9.
8 is probably my favorite of all of them.

The cinemati look of the scenes on Ilus is largely due to the change to a wider aspect ratio. As to where it was shot, it was in a quarry north of Toronto.

I think I heard that the colours in the quarry area were so good that the overhead drone shots have very little manipulation.

I don’t think the general preference for season 3 has anything to do with the visual changes. Pretty sure the vast majority of the fanbase think the show looks AMAZING from seasons 4-6 in terms of visuals and that the changes were positive. I think for me, season 3 is just the best in terms of story and pace. They managed to combine the second half of book 2 with the entirety of book 3, trimming a lot out of book 3 to pull it off, and the result was 13 episodes that were packed with action but never felt rushed. It was basically a perfect season of tv. Seasons 4-6 are great and they look better than than 3, they just aren’t *quite* as good in my opinion.

Bobby!! Been waiting for you! You are very tuned to details so you will like this season I think. Pay most attention to Bobbie is all I want to say.

Safe to say that Naomi has never been on a planet or in significant gravity other than in a hard burn. Alex has been on a planet with very low gravity but supposedly Ilus has significant gravity even greater than that of Earth. I love this season because here we are exploring another habitable planet which is about as sci fi as you can get! I am sorry about the lack of Pastor Anna but there is plenty more to delve into. In the books they take time to describe some of the flora and fauna of the planet but there wasn't much room for that here (not none of course but certainly less). This episode sets up where everyone is and then we can get into the story. Have fun!!

    No spoilers.
Season 4 the story gets small again. Up until now the story kept building pieces of the story, getting bigger and bigger, building on the foundation of the things that came before up to the 1300+ rings opening.
Season 4 takes a look at what is happening in 1 of those 1300, and it is building the foundation for the story to get big again. Season 4 is a bit slow, like the first 4 episodes are slow. The details and smaller stories build the strong foundation so that the the story can get as big as it needs to without falling apart.

I dont think its a spoiler to say but due to the show being canceled actors abviously had to find work so there was some availability issues. So Chrisjens husband Arjun had to be recast... and is probably the worst recasting i have seen in TV with the exception of maybe sliders.

I really think it's overstated how much worse 2nd Arjun is compared to 1st Arjun. I prefer Brian George too, but I certainly don't think this is anywhere close to the worst case of recasting ever lol.
Brian George was obviously perfect in the role, and created a fantastic dynamic with Shoreh Ahgdashloo. It's a shame he couldn't return for the role. 2nd Arjun doesn't have that same dynamic, but a lot of that is just on how the characters are written this season. I still think they're both written really well, it's just that this season is exploring a different aspect of their relationship. And while Brian George would have likely delivered certain scenes differently, I still think Michael Benyaer does some really good work at times this season.

@@VLaks1 I would like to have seen Brian George's portrayal in this season. BTW, Michael Benyaer did a guest shot on Star Trek: Strange New Worlds playing a similar character as a Vulcan husband to a Vulcan matriarch similar to Avasarala...played by the woman who plays Avasarala's daughter on The Expanse.

    • @roborob4296

@@VLaks1 Its not that i think he was a bad actor just from his look, lack of accent, body language hes like a whole new person. Michael Benyaer comes off as a bit gay. Like not in an insulting or mocking way. Just seems like carrys himself that way. Google has no info on his sexual orientation and nothing wrong if he is. Especially in the future where a lot of shows portray sexuality as being a bit more loose than it is today. But I never got that impression from Brian George. Like Michael Benyaers delivery in some scenes is great and i struggle to picture Brian George delivering the lines as well but thats the issue they seem like totally different people
