    Hi Srbo, nice review, as always.
    My impression of this amp, after 3 months of listening: it's really powerful, I don't listen to it over 10 o'clock on the volume dial, depending on speakers I connect to it. A lot of power and dynamics, but at the same time a lot of details and good air in my opinion.
    Speaker pairing is crucial here, as you said: if you nail it, than it's hard to find a fault. If not, then you're in for a bumpy ride...
    All in all, I'm really happy with my choice.
    Just a few additional comments: I didn't notice if you mentioned that the digital module contains a Bluetooth receiver as well (for those who are interested); also, the remote doesn't come as standard, it's a 50 EUR additional cots (🤔😒).

    I went to AXPONA 2022 (fortunately only living 30 minutes away) and Atoll integrated amps were paired with Atohm speakers in one of the hundreds of smallish stripped out hotel rooms. I was unfamiliar with the brand, but was immediately impressed. Upon learning of the relatively reasonable cost, I returned after sampling many other rooms over the course of two days. My initial impression was confirmed, and it is great that your findings are so favorable as well. Very nice review. Thank you.

      you know what i've noticed guys as an owner of Atoll IN80 Signature, and i had read this in a forum , but at the time i doubted the guy who had written it, because i thought he's bullshitting theres no way that happens its not tubes to need to warm up but i noticed he's correct. the slight ever so slight minute sharpness/harshness exists indeed when the amplifier is cold but when its warm like after an hour or hour and half of operation that goes completely away and it becomes so smooth, like absolutely heavenly, smoother than a baby. some people have compared it even with tubes

The exposure replaced a Denon PMA600, a big jump in sound, but I am missing little bit of humpf in the low frequencies.. not the supper low freqs but those in the mid to upper low freqs where synths create an airy background ... you know what I mean.... the speakers are performing great ... the difference is, I think, in the sound from the Exposure... I recently was in searching for renewing my audio chain. I have had to choose from Marantz PM 8006, Audiolab 8300A, Rega Elex-R and Atoll IN100 Signature. You guessed, the winner was Atoll. The 100W power and dual mono MOSFET transistors of Atoll (warmer and smoother sound than BJT transistors) paired with KEF R3 marked the end of searching for me. As a DAC, I use SMSL M400 - which is a beast. P.S.: Very close was Rega Elex-R, but the higher power of Atoll has cut the deal.

    Hi Srboljub, (is this your correct name?)
    Great review, thanks. I'm looking at some upgrade advice and would greatly appreciate your help. I have 5.1.4 atmos setup with arendal 1723s towers as fronts. Use a denon 3800h that powers the center, rears and hight speakers and on the pre out of the denon an atoll in200 powers the 1723s towers.(your reviews helped a lot to go for arendal and atoll, THANKS!) I love the arendals!! I like the performanc for movies.. I actually am happy with 2 channel as well, but am usure if i could still improve the stereo experience.. I currently use the denon heos platform as a streamer via the denon dacs and have a separate dirac live filter to Run 2 channel music (put 4db bass gain and tried to get the rest of the curve as flat as possible with a slightly roll off for the trebble as I have a bright room) next to this I have the speakers placed very carefully out in the room and away from the Wall. The room is normally furnished, a bit Lively as no acoustic treatment. Question 1: do you think that a separate streamer/dac connected directly on the atoll will be an upgrade for me with regards to tonailty, soundstage depth and width etc? It sounds neutral, very detailed and tight in the bass with dirac at the moment, but I'm doubting the fullness/Juice as you always say 😂 The dac/streamer would need to have dirac/peq to deal with my living room bass problems (I have more than 10 db room gain below 80 hz) question 2: Will such an upgrade be subtle or big? Question 3: what streamer dac would be a good/sensible match to the atoll and arendal capabilities? Taking the bass problems into account and my wish for full and juicy sound. Thanks a lot for your great work!

      @iiWiReviews  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi and thanks for your generous support! Yes, my name is correct. I am glad to hear that you're enjoying Arendal and Atoll, both great devices and a very promising system you have there. As for giving you a piece of good advice on this one - it will not be an easy task, especially because of Dirac and PEQ requirements. Even PEQ is very rare among stereo-oriented digital sources (purity of signal is a thing that most audiophiles cherish), but Dirac is almost exclusively connected to home theater setup. I believe there are some very rare occasions I've seen it implemented in the stereo solutions (Linn has it if I remember correctly) but it's extremely rare. That said, once you're familiar with your room mods and acoustics, and not afraid of doing things manually, PEQ should be more than enough to solve any acoustic problem. The first devices that come to mind, that are both great sounding and offer PEQ are the Eversolo DMP-A6 and A8. Your system could benefit from A8 if the budget allows it because it is good enough to show the difference. If not, DMP-A6 is still a very good device and has an interesting upgrade path (using a linear power supply tailored for it). But that's a whole other topic.
      Now the biggest problem with giving you any useful advice here is that I don't have any experience with the Denon streaming system and DAC you're currently using (it's a solution integrated inside of the multichannel amplifier if I got the post right?). If Denon's digital section is just OK but not great (most highly integrated solutions are like that) then Eversolos would probably present a decent upgrade (especially A8). On the other hand, if Denon is already great you might be eroding your budget and gaining nothing or very little in the process.

    • @iiWiReviews
      @iiWiReviews  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      While I didn't help much with your dilemma, I have one piece of advice that you might already be familiar with.. or maybe not. When doing PEQ corrections I would try to keep it as simple and as minimal as possible. Handle those huge bass peaks by decreasing them, don't try to fill in big dips if they exist (the amp is straining and using energy but room acoustic is still canceling most of that added energy and creating the same dip, that gets barely any better. But you're losing dynamic headroom because you're making the amp work harder and have less spare power). Also, I wouldn't correct anything above ~150Hz no matter how non-flat things look. That's because altering those frequencies usually takes away from the sound more than it gives back - it dries it out, making it less musical and smooth. In my experience, a small amount of PEQ in the right place (bass peaks) can make a positive change, but a lot of PEQ usually results in a sum negative when we're talking about fine stereo.

      @@iiWiReviews that is great advice and I'll take it at heart. I can load multiple presets and switch quickly between them, so I can make a new one with the bass adjustments only below 150 hz and compare that to current one and see if I like it. yeah I was a movie fan before an audiophile 🤣 it is an avr integrated amp, dac, soundprocesser indeed. lots of people over @ audiosciencereview say that if it measure well it will sound good, and the denon measures well so maybe I'm ok... but got that itch and was already eying the a8 as well and think when budget allows it I'll order it under a return policy to see if I can hear the difference! In your review you said that a dac paired to the atoll need to be juicy and not to bright/sterile, will I get That indeed from the a8? Less so from the 6 right? Thanks. I'll start making a new dirac filter as soon as I have time for it.

    • @iiWiReviews
      @iiWiReviews  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      A8 is not particularly juicy but it is also not too bright or lean... It's one of those very neutral sounding DACs. It's open with plenty of air, but also smooth and natural. It shouldn't provoke any component in my opinion. But trying it with good return policy is a great idea.

    Thank you for a clear and accurate review. I have its bigger brother the IN 200 Signature with the AKM4490 digital board. I bought this for £1650. Matching source and especially speakers correctly is a must. Fortunately my source components suited the Atoll fine but when I tried to substitute the Buchardt 400 mkii for my approximately 25+year old Casle Howard S2 floorstanders to improve imaging I found I had made a mistake. The improvement was there but so was an unacceptable level of sibilance on vocals and speech. So back to the Castles. Thank you for the Wharfedale suggestion. @@lekmannen9990 To me, yes. because, prior to this I was connecting my same Bookshelf speakers Rated at 4 Ohms and Sub to my Denon AVR 3313 in

      At that point of time, when I introduced the Feliks Audio Echo Headphone amp (In Pre-Amp mode) into my Listening chain, I felt that my Bookshelves sounded like much bigger speakers. Also I noticed, there was a definite greater Analogue warmth to the Audio I was listening to. The Feliks Audio Echo is Primarily a very good Headphone Amp.

    Owning this amp and the IN200, the golden tip is the tuning from AVS Oymann for this amp. Night and day difference, sounds fuller without any harshness, very very spatial and with great bass authority and control. So pay a little extra for the tuning and skip the internal DAC (R2R and dual AKM are great match!). The binding posts are crap, pure brass and metal but easy to change. PS, no commercial interest, just a happy customer 🙂

    I am a bit surprised that with dual mono power supplies, that it "only" manages 140W into 4 ohms. In a "classic" ideal Class A/B design, it would have about 2X the 8 ohm rating into 4 ohms. It the output stage discrete, or is it using output op-amp chips? Edit: I found a few pictures - they look like transistors, but their heat sinks are quite small. So I am not sure what it is using.
    It also has two optional phono sections, apparently.

    Hi Srboljub,
    Your reviews are the most reliable for me due to the detailed and well-categorized way in which you talk about subjects.
    I would like to know your opinion regarding my dilemma.
    I want to build a good stereo system to listen to music (mainly) but also to watch movies(I gave up on 5.1).
    I already have some 40th anniversary triangle speakers, and I now intend to complete the rest of the system with a streamer / dac / amplifier.
    My budget is around 1700 euros.
    After some research (rotel a11/a12/a14, cambridge cx81/mxn10, bluesound node 3/node x, eversolo a6, raspberry streamer, etc...) I'm leaning towards atoll in80, geshelli labs with akm4499 and sparkos op amps, and Maybe a Wiim Pro (I would prefer it to have HDMI and USB storage, but makes me confused paying 500 euros just for the streamer).
    Do you think this system can have good synergy?
    I'm not a fan of bass, and the most important thing is to listen to classical music.
    Yours sincerely,
    Augusto

    • @iiWiReviews
      @iiWiReviews  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Augusto and thanks for your nice words.
      I haven't heard 40th anniversary Triangles but they're probably nurturing that same kind of forward and brighter tonality that I observed with BR03. If that were the case, I wouldn't pair them with an Atoll amp before being able to audition the combo first, or buy it in a shop with a good return policy - that's very fine too.
      Geshelli Labs DAC is a great choice in my opinion. It is a fantastic, smooth, and natural-sounding DAC. Paired with Wiim Pro it would make for a great digital platform and if you don't necessarily need extra features like HDD storage that more expensive streamers offer - I don't think there's any need to pay more in this situation.
      So my only concern remains a synergy between Atoll and Triangle. In my experience as you can see from this video - combining them didn't suit my taste and the taste of their owner either. But Geshelli Labs has a smooth and natural sound that would be a good match. There's also a good chance that your more expensive Triangles are more refined and not as edgy as BR03 so this whole concern is not justified.

    My recent hifi journey moved me from kef r300 wirh arcam a19 and ir dac to atoll in200 with the dac and kef r3 meta. Now... I have tried the new arcam a25 and honestly i was amazed by the air and the definition the in200 delivered. About the brightness i have found that the arcam was more agresive with the hights and had more bass weight . The atoll might be bright to some extent but with the kef r3 meta it is more refined and doest irritate my eyer as the arcam. The only thing that i am missing slightly is the bass weight and presence it is there and it is very well controlled with high quality music but if the source is lacking the bass is lacking. I am currently with silver cables van del hul but from what i am reading mogami w3104 could improve the bass (they are copper). Any thoughts on that? Also i am currently using wiim mini which might not be the best source....would you recoment a better streamer ? Done need a touch screen like eversolo a6, dont mind it but it is not a must.... Will wiim pro or the newly announced wiim be an improvement? Or do you have anything else in mind....

    • @iiWiReviews
      @iiWiReviews  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Great to hear you like it in general. As for cables, true silver is very transparent and not too bright or lean. On the other hand, silver plated copper tend to emphasise highs. For this reason I recommend full silver wires for "money is no problem" cables and full copper for more reasonable builds. Duelund tinned copper cables also have great tone timbre and nice warmth, and don't cost too much either. For example 16ga or 12ga in cotton and oil might be worth trying.
      Wiim is great little streamer and I would stick with it. Maybe try powering it with some better power supply sometimes. It might be worth it.

      @Yiannis2112 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it would be nice to have treble, bass and a loudness button, there. But I doubt we could do much about better matching it to sources or speakers, as those basically sweep whole bands of frequencies. A more analytical graphic or even better, a parametric eq, will do the job precicely, but in this case you'd have to change the eq settings, far more often for different albums, music genres etc which is really a pain in the butt after a while...

    May I ask if torodial transformers from your IN100 hummed more than other devices you have there with you when just powered on? With several Atoll devices I owned over the years transformer hum was an issue - more than just once. Atoll devices seem to be a little sensitive to minor DC voltage within AC circuity (sometimes referred as "dirty power"). So when I moved e/g an Atoll amp frome one household to another one in maybe 20 km distance it could change from silence to pretty severe hum. What about your's?

      I didn't hear anything and I do have to lean close over it to change cables on the back. That will also depend a lot on the condition of power in any particular place. For example, my friend had some problems with Hegels and had to purchase DC blocker to put that to an end, but in my place all Hegels worked great directly from the mains.

    I have an Atoll cd transport which I like very much, but I was hesitant to try their amps as...a/b = higher power consumption (than class d) and damn they are so big! But finally I bit the bullet when I found an open box IN50 for a good price with full warranty. It was nice, but decidedly warm, and had a very forward presentation with vocals. Bass was thick, yes, but I can't say it was in a really good way. Not terrible, and I think some might really like it, but for my taste not *really* good? In general it was inoffensive but had a fairly unbalanced signature to my ears.
    I seriously considered the IN100 but given I have Triangle Comete speakers, I was a bit worried about excessive brightness after watching this review.
    In the end I exchanged the IN50 for a new IN80 and bingo! It's much more balanced in presentation and there is nothing sharp/bright about it. It sounds very clean but not analytical by any stretch, rather I would call it "smooth" in the best ways possible. Bass is still very present, but tighter and more punchy, with none of the bloated sound I was getting with the IN50. Dynamics are fab, too - it's damned fun, and with my Triangles it's a *very* good combo.
    My favorite part though is the volume knob - it's so silky smooth - like buttah! :D It offers fine adjustment even at low volume, too. Overall I encourage anyone to give Atoll devices a try if you are in the market. I'm quickly turning into a franco-audio fan

    Imam Atoll AM200 Signature amp + Atoll ST200 Signature (streamer/DAC/preamp) + Dali Menuet zvučnike. Jako sam zadovoljan sa zvukom ali u pravu si, zvuk zna biti nekad (zavisi i o kvaliteti snimke) pomalo oštar. Zanima me kako ide Atoll zvuk sa KEF LS50?

    • @iiWiReviews
      @iiWiReviews  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Originalni LS50 je takođe malo svetliji zvučnik i prija mu nešto tamnija oprema. Meta varijantu nisam čuo ali se mahom svi slažu da je smirenija u višim delovima, tako da bi sa LS50 Meta vredelo isprobati Atoll.

      Izvinjavam se zbog vraćanja na temu tri nedelje kasnije:
      Zahvaljujući Srboljubu, imao sam priliku da poslušam svoj IN100 Signature sa KEF LS50 (ne Meta) i kombinacija je previše svetla. Nije presvetlo kao sa Triangle Borea BRO3, ali povremeno je zamarajuća kombinacija, tako da ja ne bih preporučio ovo uparivanje.
      Ne znam da li LS50 Meta zvuče "mirnije", nisam ih čuo.
      Razmišljao sam o kupovini DALI Menuet SE zvučnika, ali nekoliko ljudi mi je već reklo da je njihov ton malo na svetlijoj strani, pa sam od toga odustao.

      @@goutomdutta586 The Dali Oberon 3 has a nice open sound and it mirrors the Atolls qualities. Nice expansion in the midrange, lots of detail and transparency. If I can describe the sound, it's neutral veering slightly to the warm side.
      The Atoll IN100SE has a big soundand this suits the Oberons. No matter what I throw at it, these speakers always sounds good.
      Very strong on vocals and separation of instruments. Much of my listening is DSD256 via the SMSL network player but also SACD via Marantz player.

      @@4ujase Thanks for your reply. I bought the amp and considering pair with the speaker. My concern is, I like good bass punch and crisp treble. Will this combo provide this sound signature?
      Do you use the built-in DAC? which you will prefer regarding the DAC?

    • @4ujase
      @4ujase 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@goutomdutta586 Crisp treble yes, bass is good but not gut wrenching. Oberon's bigger brother Oberon 5, the floor standing speakers has a deeper more extended bass as well as crispy treble you seek but it will cost you more.

    Great review as always. I am currently running an Onkyo Tx-8130 + TA-26 as tube buffer and Ares II into vintage onkyo sc-660s and and a Svs pb-1000 pro. Overall enjoying tge sound I have, but wondering what I may get from upgrading the amp to an atoll in100. Any opinions on the matter. I did get the Ares and the xduuo after watching your reviews.

      AI preamp and amp combo sound bigger and more 3D, also more dynamic without any harshness. But it is twice the price and without a digital section.

    Nice review. Compared to reviews I’ve read for the Atoll int200 the int100 is much more energetic and dynamic sounding compared to the int 200 which is surprising. I think the Int200 vs Hegel h190 would be a good fight.

    I own an Atoll IN30 amplifier, sounds good but looks a bit ugly. It did suddenly get a humming noise, it turned out one little elco had a loosened foot (1000 microfarad). Atoll has become a bit expensive now, the cheapest IN50 costs 849 euro now. I bought my IN30 without remote at 200 euro second hand. It used to cost about 400 euro new 10 years ago.The remote was 46 euro.

    • @iiWiReviews
      @iiWiReviews  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No sound is just a dark vacuum to me. Like putting on good active sound isolation headphones and getting that creepy feeling of nothingness. "Air" to me feels silent but not dark and like nothing, it's light and breezy instead, like a silent morning somewhere in the wild. It's natural silence that lets you register the space around you but not dead silence that feels like there isn't anything around you.
      Not sure if this makes sense to you, but it's my interpretation.

    a lot of amps go up 50 - 100% 8 - 4 ohm's & i think a DAC option is ok, aslongas you can bypass it if required.
    also seems old fashioned, judging by the back panel; tape?! 🤣✌

    • @robinr5787
      @robinr5787 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Tape basically is an normal input. The tape output is a fixed volume output and is always on (except while mute). So indeed looks old-fashioned, but can be used normally. I use the tape out as feed for an external headphone amp, works great.
