    Not gonna lie I initially scrolled past this video when I saw how much you paid, muttering to myself "well I'm never gonna eat at a place like that, why bother". But then I saw where it was! I have to say how much I appreciated your respect for the atmosphere of the restaurant itself and of the food. Your descriptions were so detailed, I felt as though I could taste everything with you. Thank you for yet another wonderful dining video!

    To all the people who are going to make comments like I would never pay that much for food, etc. etc. you should know Joel's might be literally the best fine dining restaurant in all of Vegas. It's the epitome of you get what you pay for it.

      Hello Susan, I'm sorry to hear that you're not well. I was wondering if you had heard of Dr Ari Whitten, he talks a lot about health & vitality and he gives away a lot of advice for free. Through him I came to find out about doctors such as Jonathan Landsman and more who are looking at health in a totally different way. It's all very interesting and I seem to be learning something new every day about everything from increasing energy to slowing down dementia or living with cancer.
      I really hope that you can visit a restaurant like this one day, stranger things have happened! ❤

    Thanks for the detailed video. A lot of comments saying it’s a waste of money, it is not. People pay $500 for a sports event to watch their team lose or for a concert. Paying this much for a meal once a year is a three hour event in itself and you’re winning eating delicious food prepared at the highest level with in season ingredients, decor, and the best service. I also like L’Atelier because it’s t-shirt casual, and you get the great food without having to spend extra for the decor and wait staff. Joel Robuchon is a legend.

    i ate there last year and i remember how awkward i felt just taking pictures of the food but luckily a couple next to me was also taking pics and i had nice conversation with them (i was dining alone) but it truly is a once in a lifetime experience i know to alot of people it seems crazy to pay that for a meal but it is worth it. Also the way Josh feels about Salmon is how i feel about beets but i had a beet dish and was greatly surpised by it. I loved the service there to, they can tell that ppl going in may feel overwhelmed but theyre happy to guide u through it. I was also lucky enough to talk to the head chef mainly just said thank you for the meal. Glad yall had a great experience.

      I think you absolutely can. The tougher thing about this one vs L’Atelier is that sitting at the kitchen/bar area is much easier since it provides entertainment and someone to talk to more often, this might be less exciting for an environment since it is SO Quiet and little to look at other that the beautiful room.
      For us, while we absolutely loved this we would be more likely to return to L’Atelier simply from the price point piece. If you go please let us know what you thought!

    Pommes Puree is the potato dish Monsieur Joel Robuchon is known for. There is a TH-cam video on how to prepare the dish.
    The green apple batonette in the first dessert dish was prepared with a piece of equipment called an Anti griddle. Unlike a regular griddle which heats food, the Anti griddle uses cold. There are some great videos on chefs demonstrating on how dessert dishes are prepared using the anti griddle.

    I am glad you guys got to go experience and enjoy this. I am not a big fan of high-end cuisine, but man-oh-man - that bread selection cart looked amazing. I would gladly pay $200 just to be able to pork-out on that thing!
    A couple of questions -
    Did you order each item individually, or was it a paired menu. (where all the items were included in the selection) - You may have said, but I probably missed that part.
    Either way, what gave you the inspiration to either select each dish, or select the paired menu? (Just wondering if you researched their menu in advance, so you had an idea of what you wanted or was everything a surprise for you)
    Thanks for sharing your experience....You can really see your sincere enjoyment in the dining event.

    Planning on l'atelier in june...but you are severely tempting me to do the upgrade. As I was typing this I got a call from a friend who was a chef in Alsace France and told him I was watching this video. His response in his perfect French accent "how many times do you plan on living?"

    • @JoshRachael
      @JoshRachael  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My answer is gonna depend on how many times you go to Vegas.
      If you go multiple times a year the “smart” answer is to try L’Atelier first. Food quality was great and we absolutely loved sitting at the bar watching over the kitchen. It is less formal but has great offerings
      If you only go once a year or less, have a garage sale, get rid of the third car, and go for it. The government will take it all by the end anyway, eat like a king!

    • @paulhill5295
      @paulhill5295 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Josh and Rachael's Food and Travel great answer. I make it 2 or 3 times a year. Might stick with l'atelier the 3rd week of June. Less formal sounds more comfy in 115° weather! Probably be back in fall or winter, that sound like it might be better for JR. Thanks for the great vid. I love when you can tell people are somewhat stunned by a meal.

      I would guess so but honestly don't remember, and can't find a current menu on their website that would show it. The wine list is gigantic, but I am guessing if they have beer it will be a fairly basic Budweiser, Stella, type list you see at a lot of the MGM resorts.

    Greetings ! The food and setting looked amazing. 9 types of bread ..butter from France ..caviar and that dessert cart …all looked delicious. My most expensive dinner so far has been at Le Circque at Bellagio. It was a fantastic experience but I had to sell a kidney to pay for it ….just kidding . Life is short so live it up I say . I will add Joel to my list . I’ve already have plans for Picasso at Bellagio in May so will try it on next trip in the Fall. You two crazy kids are a lot of fun . Great video 😎😎😎
