Fr Mark Mary, thank you for your tender love for us. My sixteen year old son walked into the kitchen as I was watching this video. What a wonderful example you are to him. He's been "thinking" about the priesthood since he was little. God bless you.
I am a convert. My first experience with confession was before my conversion when I went to a Koinonia retreat at college. I was at the brink of suicide at that point Even though I wasn't Catholic, I went and talked to the priest. I walked out feeling something special and so freeing. I wanted more and it began my journey to conversion. My favorite sacrament no doubt. You will feel free and on your way to peace and joy 🕊️🙏💖
I appreciate you so much father. I wish I could go to you for confession - it's been 15 + yrs. I'm working up the courage, I am really bothered by sins of my youth - I confessed them in the past but do not feel cleansed of my sins.
It is a requirement of the church to go to confession at least once a year as well as going to mass every Sunday. Communion is only allowed in a state of Grace which mean without mortal sin.
I understand what you mean sometimes it's hard for us to forgive ourselves but we have to have the faith and trust in God of his mercy and love for us. I am currently realizing this, there is nothing we can do to "earn" God's love he loved us before we were and continues to love us through everything we have done. I was told today to be steadfast in my faith and that's what we must do we can't change anything that has been done just pray and trust.
You don’t need to reconfess. You’re legally forgiven. Healing can begin but you need spiritual counseling. However, in 15 years without confession you need to make a general confession. Return to mass and take communion
May the Holy Spirit shower you with the graces that you need, may you be liberated from the claws of the evil. You see, the evil is doing all it can to prevent you from going back to God in humility. The evil always sows doubt in our hearts - do not trust that "feeling". Have faith in the Divine Mercy and humbly accept that we are sinful but also strive to reject sin, with the His grace. 🙏🕊️🌼
When I came back to the Church 12+ years ago, God had been pursing me for years. Now when He knows I need to go to Confession, "to blow the dust off" as Mother Angelica says, for days or weeks He pursues me. For the last two weeks, it's amazing the number of times Confession has come up in videos and in my spiritual and even in secular reading. And now THIS! lol! So this coming Wednesday, I am going to Confession.
