And I agree, no matter what if you find a highly allocated bottle for MSRP and pick it up. Never had a birthday bourbon never even seen one in a while not even in the museum case. Cheers gentlemen.🥃
This is absolutely awesome of you guys! Thankyou for the opportunity to win some amazing bottles. The only birthday bourbon that I've seen on a shelf was priced at $799.99 Cheers BRT 🥃
My first experience of Old Forrester Birthday Bourbon was at a restaurant a few years ago. My friend and I had never had it, so we paid the premium price for a pour, and we absolutely loved it. We loved it so much, we ordered another. And we’ve both been searching for a bottle since.
Thanks for sharing your opinions on the OFBB. I am glad that you add in price to your assessments as that is key for most of us! Easy to forget when you are chasing bottles -- until you get to the cash register.
OF 1920 was a bottle that I couldn't stand at first, but it grew on me so fast. Now, it will always be on my shelves! Birthday will join it up there whenever I can find it =)
Never tried OFBB would love to try. Heard great things about it. If someone gets mad because you are getting allocated bottles maybe they should try getting to know their local liquor store a little better!! All I say is keep pouring, peace and love to all!!
I am a big fan of Old Forester's standard line and I think the OF100 Single Barrels are the best thing they do, even though so few of them seem to be around. Old Forester is very good at providing great flavor in lower proof points, I'd love to try some of the birthday bourbons to see how the higher age improves the OF I love.
I grew up in Louisville and never knew anything about it as we had dry household. Now I would move back to Louisville to enjoy the bourbon scene. OF is one of my favs.
The funny thing is, KY has a high density of bourbon lovers, plus all the bourbon tourist, so it is one of the worst states to look for allocated bottles in.
Old Forester and Michters have been my preferred palette profiles. It would be interesting to taste a OFBB at barrel strength, but also know the OFSBBS can run pretty hot. Besides the 96 proof, the give away is truly awesome to be able to taste Birthday at a higher proof too. As for the store connection, I appreciate the relationships that are built and you at least share the experience with the review instead of it being flipped for crazy secondary prices or sitting on a shelf.
I appreciate that. I also open home collection up to SSW members about every 5-6 weeks and let people try anything they want. I barely drink my allocated whiskey. Hell, on my birthday I only had tequila 🤣
@@BourbonRealTalk tequila the next big boom (or rum perhaps). I think you allowing people to try allocated whiskey will be something they remember, and no matter what the drink is, connecting with people is what it's all about.
Just recently started listening to your Chanel. Thank you for an opportunity to try some samples of something so hard to find. You guys are awesome! Thanks again
2018 BB is still the best bourbon I’ve ever tried. I’m normally a high proof chaser but that thing hit me perfectly when I tried it. Hopefully I’ll get a bottle of my own one day 🤞
I’ve only had 1 pour of a OFBB. I believe it was a 2022. I really enjoyed it but what I remember more from that experience was the people I was drinking with and the good times we had. Cheers
Went to OF downtown NuLu. It was great. Got a nice flight of 117, BB, Presidents choice. They were exceptional. But that’s where I fell in love with OF rye
Never had a Birthday bottle. OF is one of my favorites though. Haven’t had a Single Barrel from them I didn’t like. The black label 100’s are the best.
This is definitely an awesome flight for someone to be able to try. I like that you guys can be critical but still enjoy the pour. Keep on keeping it real.
I appreciate the review. I've coughed up the cash to try Birthday Bourbon at a bar on two separate occasions. I think it's one that I would happily purchase at or near MSRP just to have one, but there are several other limited releases in that $150 to $200 that I would put a lot more effort intp tracking down.
The OF Whiskey Row collection is very solid. I am not going to reject a pour of Birthday bourbon but it would be hard to justify a bottle at secondary market prices based on the year to year inconsistencies. As always, I appreciate your reviews. Well done.
I was lucky enough to get my first one this year and have been debating on opening or trying to trade up for a 150th Anniversary or President's Choice, so great to see your notes.
🎉Happy birthday to you when your day comes up!🎊. Appreciate the straight forward review, and that the hosts are happy and willing to "spread the wealth"
OF BB has been so elusive-- I do hear a lot of people wishing it was above 100 pf so it's interesting hearing you compare to a higher proof release of it. I liked the balanced review as always, guys!
The Birthday Bourbon was an extremely limited release. I think I know about a half dozen hitting the Buffalo/Rochester area. I'd love to try it. I'd love to have a bottle. Maybe next year :)
I’ve had a few Birthday Bourbons, only tastings from a friend but it’s one of my favorite pours for sure! Always a buy for me if I were to find one in the wild which I have not yet.. Someday!🥃🙏🏽
So funny to hear folks say they'd pass at $200, when in upstate NY the cheapest I've seen one this year was $999 and it flew off the shelf. Same store has all previous 10 years worth marked at $1,875 (down from $2,499). Of course they STILL have them. Wish I had grabbed one in the mid-teens when I saw it on a store shelf, but it was "pricey" at like $125 or something, ha. For such an iconic bottle I'd gladly pay anything near msrp.
I know that both of you prefer the Michter's 10 year but I think a blind between the 2 bottles would be interesting. That way you could see how the compare next to each other and which one is truely the best in your opinion
I enjoy sipping on anything from the whiskey row, and the 100 proof Old Forester rye is great for cocktails.
And I agree, no matter what if you find a highly allocated bottle for MSRP and pick it up. Never had a birthday bourbon never even seen one in a while not even in the museum case. Cheers gentlemen.🥃

Good luck

@@BourbonRealTalk rut-ro...
Thanks for the review. Would be cool to find one at msrp, but I'd never pay much over that when I can just get a bottle of 1910 or 1920.
I was lucky enough to find OFBB 2022 last year at a Meijer grocery store.
Old Forester and Michters have been my preferred palette profiles. It would be interesting to taste a OFBB at barrel strength, but also know the OFSBBS can run pretty hot. Enjoy most of the OF lineup and really love the 1910. OFBB is tough to come by in a control state, but I’m keeping an eye out.
I've never tried Birthday, but I've loved every shelf released OF bottle I've ever drank.
Thanks for the opportunity!
You're welcome!
I just picked up a SBBP store pick that’s really good…when I’m in the right mood.
I love them all
I have the 2022 BB and absolutely love it. Thanks for the honest reviews and opportunity for people to win samples.
1920 is my favorite. Perfect price point and a really good bang for the buck !
Agree
Birthday bourbon is fun and I love to share it with my friends who have never had it. People also love the bottle.
2018 BB is still the best bourbon I’ve ever tried. I’m normally a high proof chaser but that thing hit me perfectly when I tried it. Hopefully I’ll get a bottle of my own one day 🤞
Have not yet found to try- keep looking at bars on travels. I absolutely love the Michters 10

I love the 2023 Michter’s 10 but I have yet to try OF Birthday Bourbon. Thanks for this review.
Big fan of Forester products from what I have tried of theirs.
My buddy has an older OFBB but refuses to ever open it! Thanks for the opportunity and great video!
The OFSBBP I tried was dangerously good! It’s a good thing I only had a 2oz sample or it could have been a rough morning the next day.
Glad you loved it!
Went to OF downtown NuLu. It was great. Got a nice flight of 117, BB, Presidents choice. They were exceptional.
But that’s where I fell in love with OF rye
The 2022 is the only ridiculously hard to find bottle I have. I was one of the sweepstakes winners. I will open it for my next birthday.
The best OF I have had was the High Angle's share from a couple of years ago. Cheers on the good review!
I love Old Forester and their history.
Never had a Birthday bottle. OF is one of my favorites though. Haven’t had a Single Barrel from them I didn’t like. The black label 100’s are the best.

Will do!
Great content and discussion as usual. I have not gotten into OF products much as of yet, but I’m venturing out. Only have one bottle of 1920
Love old forester. 1920 is my go to shelfer
I would absolutely love to be able to try these. Love Old Forester and Michter’s!
Love Old Forester and have not had the chance to try the birthday bourbon yet. Someday I would love to try it.
Wow, as always thank you for the history aspect and your generosity. That is scary that stores used to do that for added profit.
This bottle is on my list to get! Thanks for the review, and also thanks for be willing to share with those free samples!
That is fair
Nice review! Thanks for your generosity with your give aways! I’m always on the lookout for any nice bottles! Never know what’s in the next store:)
Thanks so much - we appreciate you!
Never had the chance to try BB. The SBBP Rye is my favorite so far. Cheers.
I just picked up an OF 1924! I would be interested to compare it to a couple of Birthday Bourbons!
I have a 1924, so maybe we can do that
I'm a fan of 1920 and love the Michter line. I would try Birthday if we can find it at a reasonable price.
🎉Happy birthday to you when your day comes up!🎊. Appreciate the straight forward review, and that the hosts are happy and willing to "spread the wealth"
Thanks so much!
Just the video and information I needed as Dry January is officially complete for me. Cheers!
Glad I could help!

Love old forester! Great video..I'd love to try a sample! Thanks guys!
Thank you!
Thanks for the review gents! Last year’s Micther’s 10 is a hitter, drinks closer to the M20 than ever before.
We can only get the regular 80 proof and the OF 100 here in Aus. I’m sure I would be blown away by BB or even 1920 but I do love me some proof
Great review! Haven't sampled any of them and really hoping to be able to find a 2024
Haven’t tried a birthday bourbon yet, glad you guys did a review, look forward to hunting one down or winning the raffle!
Good luck!
I have the 2014 birthday…Fire! Can’t wait to try 2023 release.
First time commenter! Still regretting not getting the OFBB last summer but it was our first stop of 15! Had to pace myself.
Thanks for watching and commenting!
Definitely wish these were a slightly lower price point and maybe over 100 proof!
Tried OFBB 23 at a bar. The nose was probably the best nose I've ever had. But that was only matched by the disappointment on the palate.
Would like to see a blind with Birthday, 1924, 1920 and OF rye
Happy birthday Randall!
Thank you!
I have not tried the latest Birthday Bourbon, but I have never had one that I think is worth the hype. Wish they released these at barrel strength.
Thansk for the review!
Thanks for watching!
M10 and OFBB are both amazing! Love the channel.
We appreciate you!
Thanks for the episode! And thank you both for the opportunity to try all 3!🐐🥃🐐🥃🐐🥃
You bet!
Never tried an OFBB, excited to try one of these one day!
Old Forester 1897 BIB is still my favorite in the line up.
Would love to be able to try a birthday bourbon! Old forester has been my favorite distillery!
Hold on a second............. o.k. got me a pour of 2023 T. Handy, let's do this!
There were more bottles produced of that than OFBB.
I get cherry syrup on 1910 and luden’s cough drops on 1920 so it sounds similar to me but I have never had the birthday before.
Thank you for the opportunity to try things most of us can't get our hands on
You're welcome!
I’ve had a few Birthday Bourbons, only tastings from a friend but it’s one of my favorite pours for sure! Always a buy for me if I were to find one in the wild which I have not yet.. Someday!🥃🙏🏽
Great Video! Love to see the perspectives on these bottles. Definitely one of the most allocated, but reviews seem to be polarizing.
Much appreciated!
Great review! Appreciate the candor and dialog, fellas
Thanks for being here! You know it'll always be real talk!
Thanks for your generosity with your giveaways! Cheers🥃
You're welcome!
I like most of Old Forester Bourbons .
Thanks for the great review. With so many great bottles out there it’s nice to get an honest opinion.
Glad you enjoyed it! It'll always be real talk here.
2023 Michters 10 definitely the bar for lower proof offerings. Hopefully future Birthday Bourbons will step up their game. Cheers!
I’ve never tried old forester. I might have to look for this one
It is worth a chance
Old Forester BB is one of my unicorns. Never seen one around me.
Your videos are on point. Really enjoying them.
Glad to hear it! Thank you for being here!
Thank you for the review. Would love to find a bottle to call my own. I’m still drinking the 90-105 proofs.
I love the old Forrester prohibition
Pretty new to the bourbon experience, love your channel and reveiws
Glad you enjoy it!
perfect timing i have a feb. birthday and like old forester.
Happy early birthday!
Another great video, OFBB is a major unicorn for me. Never seen one in the wild.
I hope you do one day!
OFBB is definitely on my list to try, would be interesting to blind it against M10.
I've never tasted a OFBB myself but always willing to try ... great episode as always
So funny to hear folks say they'd pass at $200, when in upstate NY the cheapest I've seen one this year was $999 and it flew off the shelf. Only Birthday bourbon I have tried is 2022 and I enjoyed it
Nice guys old forester looking out for us and giving us good whiskey without tampering.
You all are so generous thanks.
You're very welcome!
Those are some of the bourbons I would love to try for the first time !!
Just bought my first old forester bottle. 1920.
Only ever seen OFBB in the wild for secondary, or in lotteries. If its close to M10 then that's pretty dang ol' good
I know that both of you prefer the Michter's 10 year but I think a blind between the 2 bottles would be interesting. That way you could see how the compare next to each other and which one is truely the best in your opinion
Thanks for another interesting review and giveaway.
My pleasure!
I appreciate the review. Even if this year’s release is a little low I’ll probably still buy it if I get the chance in a raffle…
Appreciate the honest reviews of all the whiskey you review.
Thanks so much for being here!
