I was at OF today, and lucked into a 1924! The distributors were buying 117’s at the counter! 🎉 I got to Liquor Barn later than Dave, but got some phenomenal pours! Cheers!
Great review and gotta thank you guys. I like finding allocated gems and am willing to pay if it's worth it.....after your review I can say that I won't be plopping down the $600 or more for this bottle. I'm a huge fan of old forester 1910 and 1920 as well as the HOT single barrels, so I'll spend my OF money on those 3, much easier to find, much better tasting, and much more wallet friendly choices.
Had my first child this year and am hunting hard for this. Likely going to be a ridiculous secondary situation since the big boy stores up here get 1 if they’re lucky. We’ll see. 🤞🏻🤞🏻
Speaking of back when you had kids before I got married we used to pick up OFCs in the early '90s. Four of us would all chip in they weren't much money back then and we would go to the quarry swimming on a Saturday I know where there are probably 15 or 20 OFCs from 1990 all the way to 1995 empty 80 ft underwater in the quarry😮😢😂😂 One of the bottles recently I seen it was worth $30,000 wow I've been collecting since 1991 but I don't have as much of the cool bottles either :-( I have some but maybe not the best ones
I "won" a chance to buy a bottle through the lottery, with the cost to get to Louisville just to get it is making it an easy decision to let someone else have an opportunity to get it down the road. I also don't have the time to make a nice proper bourbon trail trip up there.
Don't see these in Northern California except at bars so have gotten to try a few of the previous years. Wasn't bad but wouldn't pay a BTAC price for a 1 oz pour.
I get that it's rare, lottery only; but it has never appealed to me. I like OF1920, adore the OFSBBP, and had a hard time justifying the cost of the OF 1924. The OFBB is the only bottle I have ever flipped because I was offered cash for 3X was I paid for it. Thanks!
Man, somebody doesn't like OF! I actually think OF is very solid across their line up. Also agree that Michter's 10 & Toasted, RR15, Old Fitz 13 are better than OF BB.
lol right off the bat *controversial* it’s very sought out for but does it look good on your self ??? No so why get it ? Oh ya …. Because u guys in Kentucky you have to get everything.
Iowa just sucks about anything allocated. True story only way a Four Roses single barrel Barrel Strength is brought into Iowa is only if the state gets barrel then lotto to dealers. So yeah this and the M10 like hens teeth.
I don't like any Old Forester, so I'm not super disappointed I didn't get selected in the lottery. Sounds like another overly expensive dud from the folks at OF.
Who do these videos appeal to?? Seriously, who is the target audience? This allocation nonsense is getting out of control. If anything, you TH-cam “influencers” need to be calling this crap out, not reveling in it. You need to start making videos reviewing regular whiskies and pressuring distilleries to raise their base quality, NOT make more impossible to find bourbon
What's funny is if you go to our most watched reviews it is mostly all allocated bottles lol. But seriously we just said it was disappointing not sure how much more I could call them out.
It’d be like someone from Minnesota bitching at the Lobster Kingdom channel based out of Bar Harbor, ME because they can’t score all that lobster up in Bemidji…
I appreciate your guys honesty as many of us listen to you guys before we spend our hard earned money on bottles
Totally agree. You know it pains me when Old Fo doesn't knock it out of the park.

I Just grabbed one for msrp , pretty excited about this one !
Hope you enjoy it and congrats on snagging one!
I think this is one of the best birthday bourbons they have produced in a very long time

I actually picked one up at Evergreen in Bardstown this weekend during KBF!

I actually won the lottery for a chance to buy it at the disterillery. Making the trip to pick it up sometime soon.

If I stumbled on one of these I would trade it crazy quick. Sounds like they haven’t impressed in years
I had an Old Forester store pick warehouse H that was a lot of cherry no banana off profile from what I have tasted but it was amazing.
Got a bottle from my Kroger in Lexington today for $205 out the door.

Probably never see it here in MI. Maybe Jack can find me one lol! Id like to track down an 04 BB for when my son turns 21. Cheers.
It seems to have dropped in my area. Not, it appears, in greater numbers than in the past

This bottle will be at a rare bourbon event tonight. Most likely I'll pass on it if lucky enough to get it.
I've bourbon hunted in seven states in the last year and have never seen it.

I will see them in Western KY but they will $650.00 or more.
Back ten years ago, I walk into total wine and twelve bottles were on the shelf. I bought one bottle for $55.00. Sorry I didn't buy all of them.
Doubtful
yes just noticed it yesterday in my local store in NY for...$800, so no thank you
Just grabbed mine at John O's in E-Town. $700😬
Wow this ridiculous
Better chance of getting a ride on the SpaceX rocket then getting a chance to buy this.
lol right off the bat *controversial* it’s very sought out for but does it look good on your self ??? No so why get it ? Oh ya …. Because u guys in Kentucky you have to get everything.
Actually there was less bottles this year from what i heard. About 3000 bottles less
Past two years have been disappointing. The latest PC seems like a 200+ blue label. The old older ones that were hand written were fantastic.
With white gloves 😂
I had last years birthday bourbon and decided at that moment that I won't buy any more of em. Not worth the chase. Juice is regular at best
Lottery only in Ohio. Fingers crossed.
Oh look another bottle I won’t see.
I have a better chance of fathering a child today after a vasectomy 30 years ago than ever getting my hands on a bottle of this juice

Only OF I'm hunting is the 100 proof SiB or SiB Rye.

I used to love OF, but there's just something about them that just doesn't agree with my palate.
I turned it down last year at $799.99.
That's insane
Dang ! Just paid $200 for mine , secondary is crazy
@@davidatac9738 good for you I hope you enjoy it
@@davidatac9738 wow very happy for you I hope you enjoy it
I will never see it.
There is 1 reason to get this bottle, sell it to buy 7-9 OF black labels 😅😅😅
Easily the most overrated, and underwhelming allocated bottle around.
No audio lol
Sounds like mixed feelings on this one. No bueno.
Sounds disappointing

Tater Kingdom
Somebody's jealous. 😂 The target audience is anyone who hunts to let them know if they think it's worth hunting or not.

@@bourbonkingdom giving you shit, y’all are literally in the best place to snag all the LE’s. People want to bitch…..move to the Ville or Bardstown.

lol am lost got mixed signals *I WANT IT BUT I DONT WANT IT / oh I might want it smh David … 🫵🏼
