Didn’t find your channel till I saw you on Bourbon Junkies. I think your in depth reviews are probably my favorite of all the whiskey TH-camrs. Keep up the great work!
Really enjoy this double review format, especially with comparable products with similar price points. Helps get these reviews out faster so we can make timely decisions. Most can’t afford to splurge on both, so getting a comparison at the same time is very beneficial. Keep it up man.
Walked into my local kroger store today at the same time a rep was walking in with a case of birthday bourbon. Got one for $204 out the door… never seen one for retail, and I’ve never owned one… I’m hyped, especially since this is the highest proof one they have ever put out at 107 proof. 🤤 can’t wait to pop it!
I was able to do the NBIMT at old forester the past two years so I have had the chance to taste 2023 and 2024 BB. 2024 is really good. The group I was with all made the comment that it’s one of their best in quite some time.
My first "LE" bourbon find was the 2020 Four Roses. It was a bundle must have been $250+ after taxes. I passed on the Masters Keep 17 BiB/Russells 2003 basket (I know, I know, but that was around $450 which seemed unfathomable to me then) But the Four Roses turned into a good choice for me personally as it was a real "challenging" whiskey. Even reviews of it then was that it wasnt a typical profile that people with a longer history with the brand had come to expect (very herbal rye and green oak forward that didnt always fit well with the caramel notes). But it was a good early lesson for myself as it keeps my own expectations in check as LEs can be good, can be appreciated and sometimes knock ones socks off but often not really something worth paying 2X or more srp for me personally. Thanks for the reviews Cam.
Pumpin up that B-Day bourbon aint gonna help that secondary price come down any Cam! 😄 Ive gotten to try them from 2020-2023. 20 was a tropical pineapple outlier, '21 dark cherry bomb, '22 pond water (dude, it was flat out gross) and '23 was a step up on the previous year (the nose was glorious but fell off fast on the palate). 2024 sounds like a contender to knock 2020 off as my fav should I be able to secure a pour.
I was going to come up with a snarky comment to post to troll you... but I legitimately enjoyed the review and couldn't think of one! Thanks for the comparison on these hard-to-find bottles we might be tempted to splurge on! So how would you say the 2024 4R LE compares to last year's 135th? I was a huge fan of that one, and thought the balance between fruit, spice, and oak was spot on.
Interesting, the general consensus seems to be the opposite, that the birthday bourbon is very underwhelming and that this is one of the best four roses LE batches in a while.

Great head to head, Cam! Those are all your personal notes and it’s great to hear your takes on these bottles🙏🥃
As always, love your descriptions and walking us through the experience!
Cheers brother. Always appreciate your advice and reviews. 🥃
Happy birthday Cam!

As always great review! Someday I’ll find a Birthday Bourbon in the wild at least I can dream!😀

Was lucky to get a birthday bourbon in a lottery this year
Which year

Had the chance to taste the 2023. It was good, but not worth the 800-1K on secondary.

More notable TH-camrs have the Four Roses LE in their top 10 of 24.
🤷♂️ lol
🤣
I thought the Birthday Bourbon was a big miss. I blinded it with the Makers Mark Lost Recipe and MM won
limited editions do NOT need to appeal to a wide audience because they never reach a wide audience
Great review but maybe stick to scotch
Bro I saw the comment without the name at first and was like “wtf is going on” lol
@@DrumsAndDramsthis is her ghost account
Another bourbon tuber with a OFO bb.. This is why the rest of us can never get a bottle of this shit. smh.
@@chozen_juan clearly you didn’t make it 1 minute into the video to realize I received a sample from a friend. Gotta do better if you’re gonna troll 🤣
@chozen_juan quit crying lmao
