    This guitar sounds great for players that don’t want to spend a lot of money on amps and effects.

      For sure! I personally use modeling software and have a modeling amp, but this is a lot simpler gear-wise since it's all in one :)

      You could always just resign yourself to owning 2 or 3 guitars that do relatively specific genres of music and sticking to those genres for a couple of months without using effects or amps and then move on.

    Your new neighbors must love you now that you have this new guitar! 🎸🎸🎸 This is the first time I've seen these features in a guitar. I recently purchased the Positive Grid Spark 40 Modeling Amp, and the tones you can get out of it are just mind boggling. I'm having so much fun with it. It just has so many really cool learning tools and other things to choose from: amps, pedals, add on app's, etc. to choose from. Something I really like about this guitar is that you don't need an amp when on the road or if you just don't want to deal with an amp when practicing. 👍👍👍

    • @RachelfGuitar
      @RachelfGuitar  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The Spark looks great too! Definitely a place for both modeling amps and a guitar like this in my mind; the amp is great since it works with any guitar and you can play out loud, but this is nice for simplicity and portability when you want that!

    • @audiophileman7047
      @audiophileman7047 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RachelfGuitar The Spark is almost unlimited in what it can do. You can buy the Hendrix app to sound like Hendrix. What I find particularly cool is that you can play both an electric and acoustic guitar and bass through it! If you don't want anyone to hear you, then you can just plug in the headphones. Some good Sennheiser headphones came with it on a special promotion. What I really like right now is that I can play a riff through it several times and then it adds bass and drums at my skill level. You can also play songs through it off of the Net, and it will show the chords to you. I'm in doggie heaven with the Spark! That guitar is really nice too, and yes I could see someone having both. On many of a business trip, I would have loved to have that guitar in a hotel room, so I didn't have to lug an amp around and still practice with an electric guitar.

    Very impressive guitar and great demo Rachel. Thanks! I saw another interesting guitar design while researching pickups. There is a brand of guitar call Relish. Apparently, they're made to allow you to easily change pickups from the back. Pop in Pop out. After seeing this Mooer demo, it'll be exciting to see what new tech offerings come out in the future. I won't miss my amp/headphone device. Its ok to practice after hours, but not too great. This Mooer guitar solves that. I hope they come out with one more in the Ibanez styles.

      Because every time guitar manf do something different (especially fender and gibson), players whine and complain that it's not like the original from the 50s. Even when the guitar they want still exists, they complain about the names 😆 its only about the last decade that guitarists are finally accepting solid state digital amps and multi fx units. There have been several guitars with built in fx like the firebird X but typical guitar players don't want stuff like that.

    • @JoshTyrReece
      @JoshTyrReece 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      As manufacturer you have to look what sells good in the target groups.
      And I think this kind of guitar is a mixed bag.
      Sure you don't need pedals and special amps...but you can use it only with this guitar.
      That would be interesting for a beginner that only has one guitar...but then again over 600$ is often to expensive for this target group that looks more for guitars in the 100-300$ range.
      And more advanced musicians have most likely several guitars - at least every single one that I know has at least two and more often 3+ guitars.
      So they would need effect pedals either way for the other guitars, so tgat they can use them on all of them.
      So yeah...theoretically this is great and a nice idea. Maybe even really good if you travel around and don't want to carry your whole equipment with you.
      But if you have several guitars you will need separate pedals either way and with that the advantages of this one get smaller.
      At least thats my thought why they never really got hold on the mass market.

    Maybe I missed it in your presentation, but I don't recall anything about being able to plug it into a speaker or PA system to be able to hear it out loud. If so, it becomes a self contained travelling musician setup, so long as you can plug into the front of the house wherever you go, or so long as you have some kind of compact, easy to transport speaker. It's like having a Katana inside the guitar, or a multi modelling and preamp pedal built into the guitar. Now you don't have to lug around either........if you can plug it into a PA for external playing.

    • @RachelfGuitar
      @RachelfGuitar  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, you can definitely plug it in! For this video I plugged it in to an interface for recording, but I've also plugged it into my amp to play out loud with it as well. Based on this I imagine it would work fine plugged into a PA system too, although I don't have experience with that specifically so not sure how it works exactly.

    Good to see you back making videos again. As far as the guitar goes for the bedroom person or just mess around and that just kinda wants an all in one and not have to spend a bunch of money this might work for them.
    But for a gigging or serious player these really is not something that would really fit the bill. And this is actually not a new Idea there have been several guitars made in the past that had effects built into them.
    My old drummer had a explore body style guitar back in the 90's that had chorus, flanger, delay and reverb built into it. there where 4 buttons on the guitar that you could push to activate each one or you could mix them together and just pic the ones you wanted on or off or have them all on.
    This is just pretty much an updated version with an app. For me personally I would never be interested in a guitar like this because I am a pretty old school keep it simple stupid guitar player but hey that's just me.

    • @RachelfGuitar
      @RachelfGuitar  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, that makes sense, it definitely comes down to the person! I can see this guitar being awesome for a big group of people, but it won't cater to everyone's needs/preferences.
      As I mentioned in the video personally I think I'll use the guitar mostly for practice when I'm not near or don't feel like plugging into my amp/computer. I've had a lot of fun playing with it so far 😁!

    • @stephenshoihet2590
      @stephenshoihet2590 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Unless the saddles are bottomed out, you don't need to shim the neck. Those screws just look really long because the saddles are thin bent metal, all the screws on my Pacifica stick up way more than hers. People who palm mute a lot are better off with cast saddles that have more depth for the screws.

    Cool! But like the "All in one" Stereo rack units from the past, that instead of having a separate tuner, cassette, CD and so on. They just packed it all into one cluster and if the CD crapped out, you either did without or stacked something that looked nothing like the rest of the unit (if you had room) on top and if the main unit failed, you lost everything. Much like an old school "Ghetto Blaster" Having an all-in-one portable unit has its place, but not the best choice for the living room surround sound system. If priced like that of a "Ghetto Blaster" and not a high-end sound system, then it could definitely be a fun toy. But after hearing the price, I'd buy a Glarry or two, a couple of pedals and an amp, cause it's still just a copy with some cool doodads added.

    Every person that has ever played guitar is screaming "Where was this when I was starting??" or "Where was this when I was a kid!!??"

    Interesting piece of gear and much simpler. Sometimes it seems like you have to be part electrician to use some of the effects pedals available these days.
    Gotta say it's kind of strange seeing you playing a strat style guitar.
