Within those 3 years, Nama could've figured out a way to make the top of M1 compatible with the J2 base. How many appliances do they expect us to purchase & store conveniently?
I wish they could. The Nama J2 runs at a set speed of 50 RPM, and the M1 runs at 10,000 RPM grinding and 2,500 RPM spinning, it is a completely different motor so it would not be possible to just make a different top set.

I bought the Almond Cow several years ago and stopped using it because it was so difficult to clean. Also like with your experience, the bottom nut fell off during use. I was able to put it back on and tighten it and I tried using it after a long time of not using it and it got all dusty and the milk got quite gritty. Also the milk was so watery that I didn't enjoy drinking it. I'm going to try the Nama M1 and hope to use it more often to make thicker milks.
I have the Almond Cow and never had good results. I was frustrated tying my best to make it successful. A lot of waste and milk was to thin. Nice to see an alternative. Thanks for the comparison.
Each machine has its own set of pros and cons. The Nutrimilk does make nut butter, nut milk (from the butter) as well as you can use it as a "food processor". I do use it to turn cacao nibs into chocolate! th-cam.com/video/TgHMm-oGu4I/w-d-xo.html I rarely use it for nut milk since it is a longer process, and the machine is more difficult to clean IMO. I personally recommend vacuum blending for making nut milk. I discuss this more at th-cam.com/video/OlZTo2oZy7Q/w-d-xo.html The nutramillk is a commercial machine, and priced accordingly, and only has a 1 yr warranty, the Nama M1 has a 15 year warranty, and is much easier to clean than the nutramilk, but filters the nutmilk whereas the nutramilk does not. I will have a future video comparing the two.
Probably because Nama says you can't make soymilk, and it does not explain how to do it in the included recipe book. That being said, I don't just take nama's word on things, I prove things to myself! and YES the M1 can make Soy milk as I had previously told people. I walk through the entire process in this episode: th-cam.com/video/t7gkKFKDI6s/w-d-xo.html It’s disappointing to me that Nama doesn’t include this important information in the recipe book that comes with the Nama M1. It’s also surprising that they don’t mention soy milk at all in their marketing, considering it contains 6-7 times more protein than tree nuts. Highlighting this could make a big difference for those looking to maximize nutrition with their plant-based milks!
We love our Nutramilk! It makes a two quart batch of almond milk in 10 minutes. Then put into the dishwasher. Easy peasy. With that said, the best quality almond milk is made by soaking/remove skins then put into our Blendtec/Void Vacuum blender. AM second to none. Try it. With that said, the NAMA M1 can make AM with soaked/skins removed without the nut milk bag. The Nutramilk requires dry nuts. We are considering getting the m1 just for this. If only the M1 was a vacuum nut milk machine. And was dishwasher safe. John will get it done! Thanks for all u do John!!
I have a Nutramilk processor. Why get an M1 the Nutramilk barely leaves behind any pulp. You already have the best machine. No soaking required just get to making milk of your choice. Unless you're just obsessed with kitchen gadgets like myself 😂
John: have you tested Milky Plant yet? It appears to work much like M1 but on a smaller scale, making 1 pint of milk per cycle, which is perfect for my small household. It creates extremely dry pulp and self-cleans. I’ve been waiting for it to be available to USA customers again, but now I’m leaning towards M1.
I have not tested the milky plant. it looks interesting for sure, It spins out the pulp also which gets the pulp dry. but the issue I see is that the capacity is WAY SMALL which means you will not get as THICK of a nut milk. It looks like it sells for $449 and is out of stock. Plus the warranty is only 1 year. From looking at It, I can say the M1 is a much BETTER built (more durable) machine that WILL last longer (15 yr warranty) and costs less.
The M1 Plant Milk Maker parts will NOT fit on the Nama J2 since the Nama J2 motor runs at a set speed of 50 RPM, whereas the M1 has a dual-speed motor that can run at 10,000 RPM for grinding, and 2,500 RPM for spin drying the nuts. Watch my full comparison at th-cam.com/video/kPz2m_0P99A/w-d-xo.html where I compare the M1 to J2 in terms of making nut milk and how they differ.
Yes!
Hi there! Yes, you can make soy milk with the Nama M1! However, since the M1 doesn’t have a heating element, making soy milk is a two-step process. Soybeans must be cooked first to create smooth, creamy soy milk in the M1 and to ensure safe consumption. Here’s how to make soy milk in the Nama M1: 1. Start by soaking 1 cup of dry soybeans in water for 8-12 hours. 2. After soaking, drain and rinse the soybeans. Then, cook them in boiling water for about 15-20 min, or until fully cooked and tender. Drain again, then let the soybeans cool off - They should not feel hot to the touch. 3. Add the cooked soybeans to the M1, along with fresh water. For a creamier consistency, we recommend a 1:2 ratio of cooked soybeans to water. Add to the M1 and blend for 1 min. 4. If desired, add a natural sweetener like maple syrup, dates, or vanilla during the blending process to taste. Once completed, you’ll have homemade soy milk ready to enjoy. Hope this helps!
In this comparison, neither set of nuts were soaked. It is not a requirement of either of these machines to soak nuts. However, nutritionally, it is better to soak nuts to start the germination process, increase nutrient bioavailability and reduce enzyme inhibitors. you can use soaked nuts in both machines without an issue.
I’ve been using my Almond Cow for 4 years and have been happy with it. I DO use a little silicone spatula to push the wet pulp through the holes in the basket to get all the milk out. I also strain the milk through a fine mesh strainer. It does still have some grit but I’ve gotten used to it. I usually soak 1/2 cup almonds and fill the water to the max line, so I must like it more diluted than you. I also do that because of cost of nuts…I don’t generally drink milk straight, I use it in my smoothies and cooking/baking. You can make 2 cups in the Almond Cow. It comes with a white plastic collector cup (which you also can sit the top of the the machine inside after blending so you don’t have a mess). You place 2 cups of water in the collector cup and place that into the machine, then put the top on as normal. You cannot put more than 1 cup TOTAL ingredients into the basket or it is overfilled and will pop open like it did in the video and can ruin the machine (slices the basket). All in all, I do think the Almond Cow is a very good purchase for the cost. You do get your money’s worth and I’ve enjoyed the milks I’ve made. That being said, I did order the m1…it is being delivered today 🎉🎉🎉 It certainly is next level. The straining step is great. I do wish I could make more than 4 cups, but I’ll just run two cycles back to back. My kids will drink it so fast I’ll be standing there making milk all day otherwise 😅 The pulp looks soooo nice and dry. I love that I don’t need to grab a spoon to push the pulp through the basket and get all the milk out…I love that I don’t have to strain it afterwards (assuming the milk has no grit…I have not tried it yet). It is way more expensive than the Almond Cow. I’m in Canada so it comes to about $675 with taxes and delivery. If anyone uses the code, it comes to $606 and change. The Almond Cow is just over half that cost. So depending on everyone’s financial situation, and things are tough right now for many folks, the Almond Cow is still a great investment in your health and works wonderfully if you don’t mind taking the extra steps I mentioned. It is still very fast. Make milk and clean up total 5 minutes. I know you are super excited about the m1 and so just kinda Willy nilly tested the Almond Cow, and it was funny lol, but it was not a true test of the machine. I just want people to know that if they cannot afford the m1, the Almond Cow is next best thing in my opinion. Like I said, 4 years making milk 1-2 times every single week and never had an issue. It’s never popped off like that either because I ensure my ingredients don’t go over 1 cup in the basket, and keep the water between the min and max line. Looking forward to my m1 arriving 😊 Now I’m not sure what I’ll do with my Almond Cow. Keep for now I guess and see if I never use it, maybe sell it to someone who can enjoy it as I have. Thanks for the video and sorry for the long comment!

Thanks for sharing your experience, and the "workarounds" you figured out to get the best performance out of the Almond Cow. That is impressive you figured out how to navigate its shortcomings. Would love to hear more about your experiences with the M1 once you have used it for a bit, since your more of a "nut milk" pro than I am, since you have a large family that drinks it regularly and I rarely drink nut milk.
Great comparison…. Was eying an almond cow or milky, but not anymore lol. Now saving for next year when the 220v comes out. Glad I found out the Nama m1 before the purchase of a cow or milky. Extra cost for me will make up for the ease of use, warranty, and ingredient efficiency. Thx! One remark, the milk out of the Nama is twice as expensive as the almond cow, hence logical that it taste better. You could have made a taste test using 4 cups of water with each machine and then taste. I recon the Nama will blow the almond cow out of the park , but that would be a much more fair taste comparison.
I got myself a Klarstein (German) milk maker... it heats and blends basically, no real cleaning and no pulp, so you drink the fibre as well. That was what sold it to me. However, I've never got on with it, it tasted weird, and Klarstein only ever offered really basic recipes (despite their claims of having loads in an app - a lie) so couldn't fully utilise it either. Have you ever tested it John? Its completely different take on milk making. Its sitting in a cupboard now, and I feel like I'm never going to realise its potential. If there is one.
That model is not available in the USA. Many of those style machines are made in China. I believe they are too "complex" for what they are including having a water chamber, and dispensing the milk (means there are tubes in machine that are probably not easily cleaned). The M1 is a simple and straight-forward design, and "gets back to basics" - blending and straining, which is the "manual method" people would do to make nut milk, but now the process is automatic.
You made the almond cow look very bad on purpose it seemed first of all u put two times the almonds in the little basket and said it was hard to close yeah no sh*t because u filled the cup up with twice as much as it calls for! I have a almond cow and have used it over 100 times with never a problem as long as u go by the directions and DON'T OVER FILL THE BASKET or the over fill line on the water! Pretty simple if u follow the instructions. I will probably get the name m1 at some point because I think it is a better nut milk maker but I don't like videos that's sloppy and one sided on purpose and for that reason I will not be watching any more of our biased one sided videos!
In the M1 it is OPTIONAL to soak the almonds. However, if you would prefer, you can SOAK the almonds before putting them into the Nama M1. Soak almonds starts the sprouting process, and remove enzyme inhibitors and actually make the almonds "more nutritious" since the nutrients will be more bioavailable.

I will probably get the name m1 at some point because I think it is a better nut milk maker but I don't like videos that's sloppy and one sided on purpose and for that reason I will not be watching any more of our biased one sided videos!
is it as nutritional when u don't so the almonds first?
huh?
In the M1 it is OPTIONAL to soak the almonds. However, if you would prefer, you can SOAK the almonds before putting them into the Nama M1. Soak almonds starts the sprouting process, and remove enzyme inhibitors and actually make the almonds "more nutritious" since the nutrients will be more bioavailable.
You're a bless.
Thank you.
