    Hey Pete, I have a similar model to that one (the orange version, same machine) and my pilot arc screw didn't ever come close to screwing tight to the connector straight out of the box. I added a brass washer and it cuts pretty well now. Also using generic aftermarket tips, but I wouldn't doubt something probably didn't survive shipping very well. Glad you got your beans back from Amazon though!

      Yea its a long way over here mate .But have also had some very good machines.

    Is it just the pilot arc functionality or won't it arc across a piece of steel with the ground clamp connected?

    • @petestools
      @petestools  ปีที่แล้ว

      Wont arc at all .Tried new torches ,consumables ,earth leads just a dud mate.

    When the tip lights the arc goes out in the machine, that to me says it’s not travelling up the torch? I don’t know how they work but could possibly try a new torch and wire from the machine up

    Thanks for Checking out these cheap cutters, Pete! I just bought the Bestarc after watching your review. I noticed a small black smudge on the consumable tip that leads me to believe the machine was quickly tested before it was packaged at the factory. Too bad this unit didn't get the same treatment. Pita!

    Whoa, that’s not good. I was looking to get a bestarc after looking at all the reviews that is best for my budget. While looking on Amazon at it I seen there is a 3rd generation put out last year for 50.00 more. The only difference I see between the two is the newer one has 2t-4t. Since I don’t know jack about a plasma cutter, do you think I should get the 3rd generation? I’m the type that would rather have more than I need than not enough,lol. What do you think?
    Thanks

    Pete, I have an AMICO cut 60 and I have the regular chineesium torch and I bought a whole box of consumibles and if I finger tighten the electrodes down it won't arc, but if I leave it just a tiny bit loose, it works. Try that

    The problem with machines like this one is that whomever you bought it from has no connection with the manufacturer. China has a number of export companies online that anyone can go to and buy some minimum number of and get a substantial discount. Often that number is fifty. The Chinese manufacturer will give a choice of colors and will print whatever “name” you want on the machine. The people who import, and sell these machines, have no spare parts, no support and no warrantee service. Generally, the product will be supported by the Chinese manufacturer, if you can contact them. You then have to put it back in the box and pay for shipping to China. Is it worth it? No. Will you even get it back if you do send it? Maybe. Is it worth buying one of these things? To me, no.

    • @petestools
      @petestools  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not all are the same .I have brought many of theses machines .I agree the manufactures not know much about trouble shooting . But I have found that amazon will just sort it out for you. If you gat a good machine there's nothing that can compare with the price.

    The problem is in the gun itself (or the arc is too weak and messing with the gun can correct for that). The spacing is too big between the inner and outer pieces where the arc jumps (tip and electrode are the terms I've seen) in the tip of the gun.
    Try a different gun, but you can "fix" that gun (it's still a weak spark) by shortening the threaded end of the outer housing (the "tip") down a bit and screwing it back in. I used a file. That shortens the gap and you get a stronger spark. A longer electrode is probably the right fix, but you'd have to figure out which one you need.

      Hi, I was looking for a plasma cutter in Amazon and thought this one could do the job, very good reviews and of course bad ones also, the problem is there are a lot of brands and it is hard to select the proper one so you rely on reviews and points and this one was on the budget I have for a plasma cutter.
