Even after 11 years since I last watched it, 5 Centimeters Per Second is still heartbreaking. I mean, It doesn't have a 'sad ending' _(depending on your perspective of course)_ but the events that happened in the film is so realistic. Just like the movie, in reality people often start something together but as time goes on they slowly drift into their own separate ways.

I myself think that the Garden of Words is by far the best one of these. I mean look at the simplicity and fluidity of the story... And the images are so artistic and poetic. A good anime (as any other form of art) is one that captures authentically the beauty of life and existence. In this one, Makoto Shinkai does just that, and with amazing perfection, showing us the emergence of an unusual but realistic love between a student and a teacher. i do agree that 5cmps is more realistic and i think it could possibly happen irl. it’s a very well done movie. kimi no na wa had this big impact on me, i think it’s more.. i don’t know.. i think it left this empty feeling inside me after finishing it and it really shifted me. Like in some scenarios i was just left with this shocking feeling and stuff. But overall, i did enjoy 5cmps i love the art. everything really. i respect his decision, i feel like he’s not like other people who put kimi no na wa over 5cmps.
I also had empty feeling and the thing is, those parts in the movie were they were just look up at the stars and pink and purple sky, i had thoughts of those before the movie... it was... i don't know what to say next. great summery of the movie tho. I watch that movie so mant times and i can't stop thinking about it!
I think the Garden of words was such an artistic perspective a love story which almost seems unreal , as if it was a dream. the Art, the soundtrack was amazing. which it had been a bit longer. but in the other hand it gave us one of the best tankas ever. " a Faint clap of thunder clouded skies perhaps rain will come if so, will you stay here with me? " a faint clap of thunder even if rain comes not I will stay here together with you"

Animation is great as always and it has some good aspects in terms of character development but it seems an experiment (which I think it is in some way).
Forgive my English
i do agree that 5cmps is more realistic and i think it could possibly happen irl. it’s a very well done movie. kimi no na wa had this big impact on me, i think it’s more.. i don’t know.. i think it left this empty feeling inside me after finishing it and it really shifted me.
I think this is a good list. I LOVED the top three movies.... And I haven't seen the other 2. I want to, though.
watch it :)
There was another makoto shinkai film and it was new called “weathering with you” 2019 July
Your name is the best and the soundtrack is good too.
All of his movies make me cry
Whatever your top five or what, Makoto Shinkai made me cry buckets
1. Your name
2 Journey to Agartha
3. 5 cm per second.
4. The Garden of Words
I still haven't seen The Place Promised in Our Early Days.
Edit this after yo watched it.. I bet that movie will goes to no3, replacing 5cm/sec
yeah 5 centimetres per second is way better than your name in my opinion
@@abdullahalobeidani6451 I prefer Your Name
@@abdullahalobeidani6451 you are kimi no nawa
I think the Garden of words was such an artistic perspective a love story which almost seems unreal , as if it was a dream. the Art, the soundtrack was amazing. which it had been a bit longer. but in the other hand it gave us one of the best tankas ever.
" a Faint clap of thunder
clouded skies
perhaps rain will come
if so, will you stay here with me?
" a faint clap of thunder
even if rain comes not
I will stay here
together with you"
5cm per second is always my favourite.

Your Name my favourite
Weathering With You have high hopes for it........
Garden of Words will always have a special place in my heart. It hit a little too close to home.
Makoto shinkai makes such powerful storytelling
I and my classmates love kimi no na wa sooo much!!
Makoto's films are my favourite 😤❤️
The difference between this and Ghibli is I went out of my way watch Ghibli movies. But with this I just stumbled upon it and I'm greatful for that. These are all great movie's I've seen them all not knowing that they all had the same director.
Makoto shinkai is the next............
Nope Makoto shinkai is Makoto shinkai and he's amazing
Ik that this has nothing to do with this but silent voice is way better than all of them i cried multiple times in it except your name because of the music and if it's music hasn't played in the ending i wouldn't cry at all but the music man
Which of these, except Your Name, ends on a happy note?
5CM Per Second is my favorite.
Seems like a lot of people don’t know about Voices From A Distant Star. My third favorite.
