As a kid of about 14 yrs old, I had a pet mongoose, which brought me endless pleaure. It slept in bed with me at night, nibbling my toes gently until my feet moved into a position where he could snuggle in. I fed him anything from porridge to meat. They attach to only one person, and - being very protective - are inclined to bite anyone else who touches their 'master'! They are also very clever and he used to run about three street blocks, and wait in a storm water pipe for me to come out of school. When he saw me, he would come running to me, and I would pick him up, place him in my book bag and carry him home. Extremely loyal and loving. The very best pet and friend I ever had! The privilege and joy of growing up in Africa!

The venom can't kill, but the mongoose can still be bitten, may have other impacts...
The snake doesn't know that. No predator is just going to lay there and be killed without a fight.
If it bit the face, mainly the eye, then the mongoose would not break even. Loss of eye would reduce its ability to survive in the long run, and the gain of a meal would not be worth it. It may win the fight no matter what, but the mamba's goal is simply to ward off the predator by making the gain not worth the effort.

After all these years, this is the first time I've heard of the mongoose having natural anti-venom. Cool! I had always wondered how the little boogers managed their wins against their favorite food.
In a battle against each other:
Mongoose wins: 100%
Venomous snake wins: 0%
their reflexes are instantaneous. Even if the snake strikes first it doesn't matter they are just too quick. and snakes do not have much lung capacity so they tire quickly because they lack any semblance of stamina. result.. mr snake has virtually no chance of survival. and finally even a black Mamba as fast as they can cover ground is no match compared to a mongoose or honey badger.
I really don't think they win 100% of the time, although I wish they did!!!!

I never knew that mongoose were immune to the venom. That makes their tactics even better- it's like they're just taunting and toying with the snakes.
Being bitten changes the calculations though. It probably would have left if it took a hit from that venom because its only "immune" against so much. Eventually it will die through it's mutation wall. As long as it never gets bitten it's immune. If it does get bit now it's no longer "immune" and future bites can start to be fatal again.

@Zankku Zann I've seen plenty of footage where a mongoose kills a Cobra. In fact, the mongoose typically wins 1 on 1, although the Cobra is occasionally victorious.
