    This feels like the right way to expand just enough beyond my Pittsburgh Structure case. Lots of functionality and interface potential.
    I would want to put my sequencers in this for easy programming, and have them feed out to the main rack.

    I see this as more or less a clean looking eurorack performance unit, especially when set up for polyphonic use and you are a keyboard musician. If you have a large collection of eurorack modules in a studio case, this would be a nice all-in-one gig performance case, that you can select and then swap modules in and out from your studio eurorack case. At least it looks a lot cleaner than lugging around a Arturia Keystep pro with a standard eurorack case.

    Hi BoBeats. I am experiencing an annoying MIDI feedback loop with my NiftyKeyz due to all my keyboards having dedicated IN, OUT, and THRU ports, but NiftyKeyz not. I use Local-OFF mode, sending MIDI to my DAW and back to the NiftyKeyz. However, because the OUT/THRU is combined, the NiftyKeyz sends everything it receives back through the MIDI OUT/THRU, causing the loop. I couldn't find an option in the manual to disable MIDI THRU. Could you guide me on how to resolve this issue?

    Wow, all out media blitz day for this product I guess. Those looking at this as an entry to eurorack need to seriously consider the longer term cost of modules as related to control surface (keyboard) and racking. If the form factor/nostalgia/similar are a primary factor then this looks compelling. At the same time a keystep pro + Doepfer 6UX86 or Behringer Go case are not much more for significantly more capability and, for the Doepfer, better power.

    • @BoBeats
      @BoBeats  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Keystep pro is 450 euro here, which puts it pretty close to the entire KEYZ. But you are right: eurorack means you have plenty of options to choose from. This is one option.
      And no media blitz at all. There was what, 3 youtubers making a video. Robin, myself and Nick.

    description in one word: overpriced. It is a basic midi keyboard which costs around 100-250 USD with a slightly bigger case and a power supply. Why does it cost 600? There is no other reason that there are not many options on the market. I hope behringer loosens up this market.

    • @alexgrunde6682
      @alexgrunde6682 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      TBF an Intellijel 104HP Palette (roughly equivalent space) plus the 1U MIDI to CV module for it would set you back the same amount. And then you’d still need the MIDI controller, an LFO module, and a slew limiter module to get all the functions out of this case.

    • @jamesgrahame8586
      @jamesgrahame8586 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      That's like saying "a car is overpriced in comparison to a motorcycle." Sure, both have engines and wheels, but the car has 4 seats and air conditioning. In this case, what you're paying the extra money for is a sturdy metal case, polyphonic MIDI/CV converters, arppegiator, built-in mult and mixer and Eurorack power bus.

    • @BoBeats
      @BoBeats  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Far be it for me to say eurorack isnt expensive
      But like others have said:
      Midi keyboard with arp + midi cv + poly capability + split capability + mixer + usb + mult and more.. that gonna set you back a bit for sure.

    • @repasiv
      @repasiv 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Well, you are right to say that if you consider these features than it is a reasonable price. I see it from an engineering point of view. All these "marketing" features cost next to nothing to build. It is an empty case with a midi keyboard. Considering everything you mentioned this should not cost more than 300-350 USD. 600 USD is far too much.
