Interesting video Aaron I enjoyed it now I have a little better understanding of what I can expect from my Vanquish metal detector. I do not own an apex at this time has I'm having a pretty good run with my Vanquish at the moment. It's very quiet over the soil here in Arkansas which I like some of my other detectors have a tendency to sound off quite a bit. Anyway take care be safe be happy that's all that counts.
Hi Arron, If you recall I wrote in asking for understanding on my Vanquish 540. We took your advice to heart and went back to the hole and dug another 12" making the hole 30" deep. Finally we uncovered an old iron pipe. Unbelievable depth!
Not to be THAT guy, but you only swept the coil over the iron bit lengthwise (at least when it's on top on the first test) Wonder if the machines would pick up the coin if you turned 90 degrees, Cool experiment though!

The Vanquish V12 VS The Apex Viper 11" is not that much different!......Flat out, the Vanquish is a better performer overall. There is plenty of videos showing that on TH-cam.
That's why i believe the pulse detectors are the best.. because you are not loosing the signals plus you have more depth especially near to the salt water
Pulse are deep but, lean to too much trash digging. I like the Minelab Sovereign Gt or Excalibur. They perform damn near like that of pulse units on depth but, with better discrimination.
Out of all fairness, you are not walking around at different angles while targeting/swinging, it does help target better. I love my 540 though. Cheers

My minelab loves to give good signal on iron even when it's turned to not detect iron. Kind or anoying
Another useless Garrett metal detector, they are the worst overpriced detectors ever !!

I’m glad I have a Vanquish instead of the Apex. I also think I’ve maybe walked away from a few masked targets that I should have dug.
