The singers of the Italian version are:
    Maria - Antonella Rondinone
Draco - Paolo Andrea Di Pietro
    Ralse - Roberto Di Candido
All real opera singers, but the soprano is not singing fully operatically.
I sang Draco also in the French version.

The real heroes of this production are the stagehands and set designers because holy shit they built a realistic looking castle with multiple floors and managed to tear it down for the next scene

    • @rossmerchant8435
      @rossmerchant8435 2 ปีที่แล้ว +31

This is always what I thought. Honestly, this is the most extravagant castle in the entire game except for that final dungeon. Figaro is pretty shabby by comparison. How did they fit it on an opera stage? Also, how did they swap it in and out in between scenes?
Also, shoutout to the extras riding chocobos. People actually did occasionally ride live horses on opera stages

By stagehands, I think you mean members of the creative team. However, you might have artistically used this word in reference to this scene which is on the opera stage. Notwithstanding, creators, regardless of which entertainment sector do set a stage for s production. Even when you use Adobe Animate, the composition area is called the stage, so in some metaphorical aspect you are the stagehands.
However, when not speaking figuratively, stagehands usually refer to people working in a live theater or even a club where people perform before an audience. There is also outdoor theaters where there is no physical elevated stage but the space where actors perform can also be the stage, even though the physical space is not constructed. A soundstage also has stagehands and rafters for lighting. However, only cast and crew and authorized personnel only are allowed to see the performance live since it is being filmed for TV, movie, or an industrial.
Video games may use a soundstage for motion capture purposes like they did for Final Fantasy XV.
But I think it would be better to thank all the members of the creative team since that includes most jobs, whereas there are very few physical stagehands on a game team. However, if you are speaking figuratively or metaphorically, you could say that the animators and 3D modelers/riggers, concept art artists, and producers are the "stagehands."
But in a job type classification, these people wouldn't be classified as stagehands.
However, just like film, hame companies have production assistants. However, the job description of a p.a. varies depending on the employer and the job description. On a film production, P.A's are basically the stagehands. They do the grunt work that pays for basic survival unlike a camera assistant who may get a significantly hire rate of pay.
In a game environment or even graphic design or multimedia, a production assistant may do more than simply help move things around and get coffee for all the artists. They might actually help with the creative process itself.
So when it all comes down to job description, I think it may be better to call everyone "members of the creative team, including production assistants and office workers, rather than using rhe job classification of stagehand since there are only a few employees with that job classification.

Not to mention they had an incredible invisible prop for the appearance of Draco's ghost, which appeared and disappeared seamlessly into the background. This was quite an advanced production. Clearly most of the wealth and technology of the FF6 (before Gestahl's advance) went into stagecraft.

Im so glad they made this scene as best as it could be.
This means so much for the character of celes, who along with Terra they may be consider the protagonist.
This scene represents the spirit of the game, in a world that forced her to be a weapon, she (and Terra ) are in a search for feeligs, for a right to be considered humans again. While Terra finds the love that she needed through maternity, Celes is all the game searching for a more romatic love, which this part of the game represents perfectly.
This opera, is a paralelism of Celes character, and her paralelism with the relashionship she has with Locke. Thats why this opera is so similar to Celes theme, because the opera was made for her.
The music of this game represented perfectly its character, because in this opera, and the what is love scene of Terra, they focus on showing their humanity with truly feelings while they are ironically looking for them.

@@Trimint123 Yeah, that's true, but the truth is that is thanks to Terra and Celes that the history is actually able to continue.
Is thanks to Terra that it begins after her awakening, because she gave hope to the returners, and is thanks to Celes after she tried to commit suicide, that everyone started to regroup. So... Arguably they both may be consider the main characters, at least for me xD

I dunno man, I guess the English one technically makes sense because Celes isn't an opera singer, but that vocal sample in the SNES version sounds pretty operatic to me. I think most people probably interpreted it that way listening to it, at least I know I did.

Yeah I'm 100% convinced they wanted us to feel it sounded good and operatic. I mentioned it before but at the end of the day, this is one of those moments where the writers can cheat by having her sing amazing. Can people share the translations of their languages version (Celes part)? I would love to read them.
    Here's the Spanish one:
"Hero of mine, light of moon
That showers (literally bathes) my heart...
My immortal love for ever will remain renovating promises.
The oblivion, the sorrow will not ever defeat me
In the tempest - the memories of yesterday will bring warmth to my soul.
Cruel destiny, its caprice have brought me far from you
If you aren't here, I cannot live, return soon to me.
My love, I thank you for you kindness and you candor
Your blessing is the interior force that will guide me through tomorrow
The silence betrays me with the echo of your voice
Not even in the darkness will the flower of this love wither."
Needless to say this sounds better in Spanish, most attempt to directly translate lyrics from one language to another do sound better in their original form.

"My beloved, you went afar, to an unreachable land?
How we promised for eternity, that our love shall always last.
In hopeless, dark hours slides my view upon the heavens.
The star, that stays there, enlightens, never passes away is yor heartly view.
My love, I shall sacrifice to a cold frozen heart.
Whats left for me to do? Oh, tell it to me! I await for your words.
Be blessed, my beloved, always you stay in my heart.
With rotating steps, you took my sorrows with you, from worries Iam free.
Your calm, soft voice speaks conforting in my ear.
Forever i will listen and await, like I promised to you."
Unsprusingly it sounds horrid on english. But i guess its neat to know how diffrent the other languages are.

I only played the GBA version and distinctly remember it being electronic/synthesized voices to make it sound like they were singing. This is definitely a huge step-up from that. More so, considering the 2D games don't generally get the same treatment as 3D ones in regards of having voice actors (it's actually kind of rare, especially in 2D RPGs/JRPGs). The second closest thing was probably Golden Sun, again with the electronic/synthesized voices to make it sound like the characters talked.
