This song is About Maynard his real Name is James. So Jimmy is Maynard as a child. His Mother had an anyrism and was wheelchair bound and unable to do anything. This all happpened when he was 11. So all the references was how old he was when his Mother was taken away from him. And he had to watch her waste to nothing for years. You can hear the emotion in his voice.
The album Ænima has a lot of songs inspired by Carl Jung, child archetypes are one of his theories. Jimmy is about Maynard trying figure out what happened to his injured inner child (Jimmy) and trying to appease it. Pushit is like a part 2 to Jimmy. It's about trying to survive the abuse from his inner child.

I saw the first show of the Sessanta tour (Pucifer, Primus, and A Perfect Circle) recently at the Wang theater in Boston. It was one of, if not the best, show I've ever seen . It's a beautiful venue, and the sound was fantastic. Maynard's voice sounded incredible. It was an awesome show. I don't know where you live, but if you get a chance, you should catch a show there.
