It is one of the best roguelike out there, and it got updates and bugfix every week for the last 7 years at least. Devs love their creature and it reflects on the game. A must have in my opinion \o/
Funny thing is the zealot you speak to at the beginning of the game. After you take his quest u can just murder him on the spot in joppa and you wont lose any reputation or aggro any of the joppa villagers for it, its free xp and he also drops a book you can either sell and or deliver to that one npc in the six day stilt for xp :)
Oh cool I never tried that before. I guess you can also trade him all your stuff before killing for a water boost too!
Every single permaphased character that I played has inevitably ended up violating the Paoli Exclusion Principle eventually. Dominating a tabby cat or a phase spider works best, but even that is not entirely safe.

Heard of this game but thought it was just a typical rogue like.
You make it sound similar to a mix of Dwarf Forest and Project Zomboid :D
Dwarf Fortress adventure mode is a big inspiration for this game! The devs are friends too I heard, which is part of how they got Kitfox to be their publisher.
The systems in the game are pretty deep and nutty. Some of my other characters:
* A psychic whose best friend is a sentient door.
* A two headed mutant snail enthusiast who was so good at snail cosplay that he convinced a legendary slug to teach him how to literally became a giant mutant snail.
@@FurtherReadingTV My favorite build is the unstable chimera build where you get random mutations and grow extra limbs as you level up. Just be a whirlwind of axes that attacks 7 or 8 times per turn, all with a chance to decapitate. It's a cool game.

everything seems to have a 'rogue like' tag... :/
typical rogue likes on steam seem to mean: dungeon crawlers, card games, and every MMO ever made... oh, and clicker games for some reason :/

Your game looks quite a bit different... Is that some sort of mod, or an option I haven't discovered?
One of the visual mods adds some extra background dots to make the background more interesting. I was also on the beta branch that added more UI icons, although that is live as of now.
24:10 I've played for 8 years (on and off) but never got there; now the surprise is ruined lol
Oh, I thought the barathrumites tell us that pretty early in the main quest? I'm not 100% sure where I heard that info thought. Trust me though, there is a lot more to get surprised about in the spindle!
