For what it's worth, I'm a car guy and wasn't familiar with vanderhall. You had it at a show at the Pate swap meet and I saw your channel banner on the car. Since then I've learned a lot about them and several people to your channel and Vanderhall directly. As long as you're having fun with it, that's really all that matters.
Hey, Mr. Oatmeal! Genuinely appreciate this video and your input. I’m coming from a Miata and have been thinking about switching to a Venice. Anyways, I invite you to keep posting more! You’re a great gentleman 🙏
I appreciate your videos and your creativeness! I'm considering buying a Vanderhall but can't make up my mind between the Venice or the Carmel. I see a lot of myself in you and thus value your views. I too like to mod my toys but the Carmel looks too elegant to tweak. I own a CNC machine shop and love creating mods people can't buy. I need a new project and drool over your many creations! Your soft top turned out fabulous! Did you ever make a second video details of the completed project, would love to see! I also find it a little funny that you too owned a BMW i3, I love love love mine. The trick is to buy them off lease. They sell for 20k with low miles. I would be sore if I paid full price too for what you get. But I drive it daily! Keep up the videos and maybe someday we shall meet, if you are still into it! I have been a sport bike rider since I was just a kid but I'm getting to old for that now-a-days. The Vanderhall looks to fill the bill perfectly for me. I love the wind in my face and the rumble of the pipes! Cheers! :-)
Thanks for sharing your story! Your group surely packed all the miles over the last year. Looking forward to the new wrap. I personally like the cleaner looks. Ride safe!
I ride an Indian Chief and on the way to work today I just about snapped my neck to look at one. That's a slick ride.. I love the styling especially the interior with the cockpit kind of feel. I might have to pick one up one of these days...
Just bought a Venice 2022 here in Illinois and found your content I appreciate your upgrade vids, gave me some good ideas, And your right I’ve had a T-Rex Campagna 1200R 2007 and the Vanderhall is by far better! Be safe
Mike, good job with your candid review and open comments about your experiences with your Vanderhall, both pro and con. I might add that your comments about the inevitable cracked windshield problem is more a design problem that plagues a specific model of Vanderhall, that being the Venice. Being a Carmel owner, now for 2 years, with 5K miles, I've not had this problem, which I believe is due to the longer windshield supports that the Carmel has as compared to the Venice. Just my opinion, for what it's worth. Enjoy your videos...! Looking forward to seeing what you decided for your new Venice wrap. Ride Safe...!
It is definitely more of a problem on a venice but we have 2 members in our North Texas group that have replaced windshields on their Carmels with the same cracking starting at the upper part of the windshield frame.
I just started watching one of your videos and now I’m, somehow, on the fourth Texas Oatmeal video. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, experience and insight on this product. More importantly, for keeping it honest. I live in Texas as well and now I’m considering the Vanderhall over the Slingshot. Just trying to figure out which model might work best for me.
Hi, im also in Houston and I'm considering buying one however, not able to find a dealer here in Houston who sells/service them and actually they all had bad things to say about them like they break down after a month have you had a similar experience while shopping for one here in the Houston area?
Love your vids. thanks for all that you do! My experience with some VH dealers has been appalling as far as trying to purchase one, and have low hopes for dealing with them if I become an owner. I'm also bummed that Vanderhall decided to go through Moto Dealer Networks for sales and service rather than direct from factory. I was in the car biz for almost 10 years, and this tomfoolery at moto dealers with old school sales shenanigans is insane.
Yes the biggest problem with these is the post sale support. Vanderhall themselves is useless. They’re happy to build and sell the car, but beyond that they aren’t helpful. There isn’t an adequate service network. The warranty is pretty much useless unless it’s small problems. REINFORCE YOUR STEERING RACK! this is the weakest spot on the first gen Venice models. Ask me how I know.. $15k in repairs later. This video pretty much nailed it. Everything he pointed out is valid.
Excellent video 👍 you have answered some questions that I had in mind. I never knew about Vanderhall until I watched a TH-cam video. I really liked the Vanderhall over the Slingshot. I’m in the process of looking for a used Vanderhall. I own a 2004 Road King and a 2023 BMW R18B. I want something different and Vanderhall caught my attention 😎.

We have had some success getting local mechanics help or supply services on the side. Not many shops will touch it since they think it's something exotic or more expensive than they really are. We have learned to just do everything ourselves basically

I was definitely in the market for a slingshot but once took a good look at the Vanderhall I believe it’s the one for us. However, I’m seeing reports of them going down for repairs very often & once they are down they seem to be down for multiple weeks even months at a time. In your history with the vehicle, is there any truth to these claims?
I too am looking to purchase...you may find this as one very helpful video on the rear wheel bearing issue that was resolved by a Florida local...that is/was my biggest concern. th-cam.com/video/UBIvUqAjutU/w-d-xo.html
Super cool car. I went with the slingshot myself I just love rwd and manual transmissions also I have so many Polaris dealers around me. I love the platform I've had so many bikes and convertibles these 3 wheelers are such a unique experience. Though I really hate, I mean absolutely hate the Can-Am why not buy a motorcycle? Unless you have a disability I don't understand that one.
Hello. Thank you for your review. The first time we saw a Vanderhill driving on the highway our mouths drooped open and we were in awe. Love the lines on it! I was able to take a picture of it just to get the name and look it up. Question: How many miles have you put on it and have you had any mechanical issues?

Very very few issues like that. We do make sure new owners check for lose bolts and do some routine maintenance though. Just like having a motorcycle in most of our opinions. They are hand built and the owner should do a quick walk around before going out for a ride is all. No big deal really.
