For safety, I like to break any moderately breakable door or window as I come across them to enhance escape options. My focus is on looting, so at mid-game, I like to bring 5k to loot any vending machines, and a Nerd chest armor to instantly benefit from magazines without wasting space. A drone with max loot helps as storage for one-space sellable and useful items.
A good tip is to invest in a vehicle, because they all have storage to one degree or another, and they don't go away if they're in bounds when you activate a mission. A chopper is essentially an entire other inventory, and it lets you get from POI to trader very fast. Eventually you'll gain an eye for what looks like an ambush spot, so always have a fallback route, and always concentrate the zeds at a chokepoint to maximize the damage and prevent yourself from getting overrun; if you can put an obstacle like a door between you and them, all the better.
If you are good with a bow, stealth is great for clearing low tier POIs. High tier POIs I don't recommend stealth. Simply put, T5 POIs are huge and have tons of zombies. Clearing that POI in less than an in-game day is insanely difficult without stealth. Using stealth will add at least half a day or longer to clearing the big POIs. Switch to heavy armor and go loud. You're playing with the big boys, use the big guns. Make sure you bring food and drinks as well as meds. (Still carry a bow, you can get the occasional stealth kill even in heavy armor without trying to sneak) If you embrace my advice to go loud, think about investing in a full set of Raider Armor. Raider Armor reduces the chances of you getting crippled or stunned. Use the raider armor like training wheels. Once you know the POI you can do it in more specialized armors to give you other benefits. Learning where the spawn are changes everything. Watch out for death drops. The devs love putting in situations where you are forced to jump into a room and they release a swarm of zombies. The easy solution is anytime you see a drop just slap down a ladder. If you can't place a block on the edge of the hole, use a pick to destroy the edge. It isn't a bad idea to put the ladder down to where zombies can use it. If the zombies can't climb your ladder, they will run off trying to get to you and they might run out of sight. It is better to control their path than to guess what they will do. Try to melee when you can. When you can is where you're only facing 1-3 zombies and you have plenty of room to retreat. If you can't retreat, or there are too many zombies use guns. Save as much ammo as you can for when the game legit tries to kill you. Also make special exceptions for special zombies. Shooting cops, demos, mutants and wights is a good habit.
Overall usefull tips! If you go into T5 POIs one of your ranged weapons should be a smg (MP5) or a machine gun (M60). You should bring at least 3 full stacks of ammo for it if it is your only ranged weapon and if you are good at aiming! when i go into a T5 POI i use the shotgun with 1 stack ammo and a smg or machine gun (depends on mood) with 2 stacks of ammo on warrior difficulty.
good video. When you say "it is not uncommon for the game to bug out if you go the wrong way". The yellow marker won't show up because you missed more zombie zones/rooms than you would if you followed the regular path. not because of any bug or game mechanics of not following the path. This also can also happen if you are very good at stealth with an assassin's armor. some of the zombies can stay in their hiding place because they never sensed you Normally on a tier 5 POI the yellow marker will show up when you have 2 or less zones not cleared and on a big POI missing more then 2 rooms is very easy
Thanks :) I should have been a little clearer in the video. There have been a few occasions where I've gone into a POI in reverse. When it gets to the point where the yellow markers pop up, no zombies spawn when I approach them. I did check this out and I found a few other people on Reddit who have had the same issue. But you are right! Sometimes it is just a case of missing zombies triggers :)
@@GameRetainer-0 If you go to a yellow marker and nothing shows up, that means a zombie has wandered too far from the POI for some reason. I heard that sometimes you can fix it by snipping zombies, but he might have gone too far or behind another building
I tried clearing the shooting range with the shotgun messiah that is behind trader bob on navezgane with just a bone knife, It did not go the way I wanted but it did go the way I thought it would. I got killed multiple times by a cop and a big feral guy
Yeah, it's all too easy to underestimate how difficult a place is to clear. I'm pretty sure every 7 days player has done it at some point (I still do it regularly!)
Latches in front of doors. If they think a trigger point is going through a doorway, put a latch on the ground making sure it will open up to block the door. They can cross the door, then run back and open the latch, creating a barrier.
Armor set bonuses are pretty underwhelming in this game so its often a good idea to wear a mix of pieces that give you the effects you want. For example a level 6 Raider Helmet gives you 100% immunity to stuns, which means perks like pain tolerance are actually pretty bad for the investment. There really isnt much reason for every build to not be running both Preacher Gloves and the Raider Helmet at least in the end game. Armor penalties become basically irrelevant once you get the book that removes them in combat.
I don’t know if this counts as a tougher POI it is a tier 4. I don’t recall any content creators mentioning it before and recall them clearing it. I am playing a random gen world on console. So I don’t know if it is on any of the pre gen maps. But it is called. Flushing Rule Palace. I got it is a trader quest in the Desert Biome.
RNG is key, I'm on day 21 vanilla and still have nothing but a level 1 pistol and is brutal., need a little more firepower for emergancies I like Knife and have it at level 4 ( quick strikes 2) and one single radiated will drain all your stamina. at least 2 full pistol loads. The problem is the other 5-6 ferals and normal zombies with them. a Hatch won't hold all of them. RNG is a horrible one game and you get all the good drops next game. . They need to rethink some of this. It seems the new version they start you at a trader 500 meters from any POI, this sucks.. should start in a small town. Love the game , and have played it for years. I get they want to make it harder all us long-term players know all the tricks so constantly changing it up keeps it fresh but some ideas they have are just bad. I am still on the fence with books, don't really like it but not sure what could be better.
The more trigger pulls the more heat generated, long bursts generate less heat , I empty rifle mags ( auto fire ). But screamers great for xp.
Yes! I should've mentioned this. I'll pin this for others to see :)

Solid advice! :)
Cobblestone blocks on my toolbelt have saved me more than a few times, to quickly block the zombies off or make a stronger tower to stand on.

Yeah, I'm not 100% sure on the books either. I kind of miss having to craft an item to improve its quality
What diff you play on
I’m asking anyone
Good question. I usually play on Nomad, but I've recently bumped up the difficulty to warrior :)
I play Nomad too.
I play on adventure I just want to have fun
