Here in America, we use "kinda-sorta" and "thingy" for vagueness, but "thingy" is also used as a sort of reverse adjective, in the sense that it comes after the noun ("Just jiggle the handle thingy if the tank keeps running"). We also have terms such as "thingamajig," "thingamabob," "doo-hickey," "whatchamacallit," "whatsits," and of course "that thing."
Hello ,I’m Arab and I learnt English only from your videos, I never took any courses or lessons in English except watching your recent updates and my English friends think I’m doing great ..thank you so much I think the content of this channel is super useful ❤️ greetings from Morocco 🇲🇦
Hi, I’m Sara and I’m from Brazil. I found your channel when I was watching a video about diferences between British and American English at Carina’s channel. I really loved it, so now your channel is one of my favourites! Thank you for everything
I found your channel because of my brother. He showed me a video where you sort of expose some tips of how to speak better in English. You'd basically recommend to keep your tong down all the time.
In Russia borscht is a kind of a meat soup with beet, potato, cabbage, carrot and so on. A beet makes it purply or sth like that. It's a sort of a typical meal for our ration. In my childhood my mom and grannies just kind of cooked it several times a month. It's so delicious for Russian and we like it very much. Thank you for your lessons!
I was just searching on the Internet for the intersting english lessons with good pronunciation, and humor. That's when I came across your channel and subscribed)))) Thanks you so much for your videos. Keep doing it)
Thanks so much Aly for your work hard to upload this vid I really appreciate. This lesson isn't vague but real for education Keep it up.Many greetings from Indonesia
I was studying for the the English thingy, and I remembered my friend sort of mentioning "papa teach me" when he arrived to England about 6 months earlier. After that, I guess I kind of fell in love with your way of teaching.
Hellooooooo! I'm a teacher from Brazil and I met you on a video with Carina Fragoso, and now I' m subscribed to your channel - really like it, and my students as well! Way to go! In fact, I'd been looking for a British TH-cam teacher and found you 😊. Most TH-camrs I follow are Americans or teach American English - I wanted some British English for a change! About this video, I'll have to study it before I share it with my students - not very familiar with the language...good for me!
1) My eyes are kinda blueish, sometimes greenish. 2) The sky is sort of blue today. 3) My favourite band playes indie rockish, poppish kind of music. I was just sort of searching for pronounciation lessons and found your channel :)
4:00 1- I think around 170 cm cm. 2- I guess about 73 kg. 3- I woke up 6:00 o'clock more or less. 4- I think she has 50,0000 or thereabouts. 5- I think I will get 6,5 or so. ---------- 6:27 1- in the night my eyes kind of dark brownish but in the sun light brownish like a honey. 2- the sky sort of whightish. -------- 7:09 I just kind of watched another videos about how to pronounce and one of yours videos appeared to me.
How I found your channel? I think your person is very popular in the English world so I found you by accident but I recommend your channel to others who want to learn English. Your videos are funny and the most important thing are helpful.
1.1 - You have about 1,80cm 1.2 - You have around 90kg 1.3 - I woke up more or less 10am 1.4 - I dunno maybe she doesn't has any money 1.5 - I get 7.0 give or take I won't answer the second part of your questions, 'cause I dont even know what these things are. 3.1 - Sometimes its blacky or brownish 3.2 - The sky was bluy today 3.3 - Metallish, poppy, electronicy. I saw your collab with Carina Fragozo and then I clicked in your channel, saw the others collabs with her. Now I'm subscribing in your channel.
your are about 178,you weigh 74 more or less,i woke up around 3AM,the queen has ballpark figure 2 or 3 billions,i had IELTS right now i would get 5 give or take and you are the best teacher i've ever seen thank you soooooooooooo much
I typed in "the art of vagueries" to the search bar to find this. I have a friend (native English speaker) who is super specific about when she'll be somewhere, even when she doesn't actually want to be there at that time specifically. This is purely in a social context. She tends to carry over her professional need for precise and specific information into her personal life without realizing it until she's said it, then feels compelled to follow through. I've told her "you need to stop being so specific every time you talk to (insert person here), because it's not doing you any favors to be so specific when you want to just chill out and relax" hopefully this helps
well, I found your channel for like two years ago as I was randomly looking for english lessons and found this unique named channel - "Papa Teach" hahaha.. I love the contents you've created so much! Your expressions, personality, creativity, everything flows so natural as I see it. I do believe this kind of channel should be on top of people's interests instead of those cheeky prank videos out there. I would say your channel worth spreading and promoted! Keep up your amazing work, Aly!
Thank you papa teach me!!! I may at last loose my sticky french accent. Haven't manage to loose it however I did live in London for seven consecutive years, thinking in english, working with english language!!!!
Hi there. 😊 I've been following your TH-cam videos for about a month now. If my English gets any better, then I'll give you treat (I don't know how but it's the gratitude that matters, right?)
1) You are 1.76 meters or thereabouts 2) You weigh 81 kg or so 3) I woke up at 7:30 or thereabouts 4) A ballpark figure, I'd say £1,000,000k 5) I'd get a score of 35 points or so because I've heard that the examinators are quite strict. This video was extremely useful to me 'cause I was wondering just a few days ago how to say "El coso del coso"(which is a phrase that we use quite a lot in Spanish, in special young people) I've also heard the word "thingamajig", is it the same with thingy or the bit??
Omg sir! It was an amazing lesson.. i discovered your channel when i was "flipping through" my mobile phone.. it has been a kind of benediction, i am improving a lot sir. Thank you for your help.. take care and keep going the good work
How have I found your channel you asked? Alright, it's like kinda fate has brought me to the best English teaching TH-cam channel ever (I'm not sure I've written all of that grammatically correctly, I was just trying my best hahah). You're the best, just do know that😉
Bakso is a ball-shaped meat or something like that. There are reguler bakso and jumbo bakso. Jumbo bakso usually contains another thingy inside for instance an egg, some of little bakso, etc. Bakso is best to eat when the weather is quite cold, because the gravy will make the body warmer.
1) I think you're about 1,75cm tall.2) You might weigh 70kg or so. 3) I woke up at 11ish today. 4) A ballpark figure - maybe around billions of pounds. 5) I might get around 6 points give or take. 1.1) My eyes mostly look greenish/greyish kind of thing. But sometimes when I wear something blue they happen to look blueish. 2.1) The sky in my country looks sort of whity/blueish sometimes more greyish today. 3.1) My favourite band plays poppy music but also sort of guitar acoustic songs. I found this channel while I was looking for videos which help you preparing for the cambridge advanced exam or something like that.
How did I find you chanal? I was going through a listening marathon from locating tutor when I bumped into your video about Phrasal verbs with "Up". Since that you are one of my favourite native teachers. I don't miss any lesson. Thanks for your not ordinary work.
1 I guesstimate you are tall enough 2 I'm guessing you are weight more or less as u should, mean perfect 3 I woke up yesterday at 2pm-ish 4 Let's said a ballpark figure as much golden coins as stars in galactic 5 IELTS test.. unfortunately certainly I would flunk it 1 My eyes are greenish/greyish 2 Hereabouts of my place sky is pitch-black now 3 It's kind of fusion music, with sort of influences from folk and rock, but generally acoustic Sorry, I just can't remind myself how I found you, but I will definitely stay forever 😜 Thanks!
