Having finished Flan C... Marisa definitely feels the worst out of all the playable characters. She doesn't have the raw power that Murasa has to compensate for her awkward movement. Her spellcard is okay but not good enough to make up for a lot of her other shortcomings. Also Flan is hella OP. Above average kit that more than makes up for her lack of spellcard. Also you can infinite hover with up air spam and if she needs more movement you can just bat away. Yuuma phase 3 is probably the hardest part of her story just because it's so different.

@@sanae6k Murasa's spellcard charge makes her slow fall, and the card itself stops her fall completely during the animation and does a bit of damage, and her 3Air pushes her up. You can just dash anchor toward Yuuma's corner, charge/card to burn time between dashes and you should have just enough airtime to clear the waves your 3 dashes. Also you can usually get a full charge between phases so it's extra free. The Yorigamis are the only ones who have to actually land between waves but the waves have a nice window after the second where you can land and get back in the air until it's time to dive bomb.
I found Flan to be the most fun character to play as too. I think the combination of her raw power and nice mobility options just made her really enjoyable to use. I do agree that Marisa felt very cumbersome, and didn't even have the power to make up for it.
The final spell is a lot easier if you just stand still and attack the bubbles instead of grazing. Saves your energy for when you really need it and stops you from inadvertently running into other bubbles.
The background reminds me of one of the backgrounds from the fight vs Sariel in HRtP. Anyone have any more knowledge if that’s just common imagery of Hell generally or is it a nice touch to the old game’s version of Hell?
Wait, Flan uses her destruction ability on Yuuma at the end. IS YUUMA DEAD? OH NY GOD SHES DEAD ISNT SHE? WE GAINED A TOUHOU AND LOSE A TOUHOU IN THE SAME GAME
She's alive in the ending. Flan just destroyed her form in which she absorbed the blood and took on its characteristics. We're still playing under spell card rules after all.

@@vyllix8546 It's spellcard rules. If you decide to go back to the incident, spellcard rules lose their meaning. Which makes "to the death" more feasible, and people stop playing 'fair.' You don't break them because you don't want to be the one who started Gensokyian MAD.
I think it would be cool if she actually looked like a Taotie instead of Yuuma but slightly bigger and vaguely red Maybe it would be harder to do but hey, it's not like she has that many frames in that form too... I just wish it was more, i mean, taking inspiration from a Taotie can lead you in many paths, so imagine how cool that could look like!

I thought the final phase was just a absurdly long endurance test... Thank gods I decided to try and kill her instead with the crystals. Learning it became a apple

This game might just have the craziest cast in a Touhou game ever, and keep in mind 15.5 had some crazy characters within.

The final phase only occurs if you exclusively select the rightmost door everytime you can choose opponents I believe.
