What If Princess Yuki Returned After Warlords? (Onimusha What-If)

There are many characters throughout Onimusha who have gone woefully under-utilised, some even having legitiimate significance to the overall narrative at at least one point or another. One of the most obvious examples iss Princess Yuki, who's kidnapping by the Fortinbras and the Genma is what first set Samanosuke on his near 40 year long crusade against all things Genma. Following her rescue, however, not only does she never make another appearence, but she is outright never mentioned again, almost like even the characters themselves forgot about her, so what would have happened if she actually made a return?
While this did take longer for me to finish than I had hoped, partially because of my series on the Elden Ring Onimusha Mod, this one was particularly fun to write, and it let me play with a couple of new ideas that I haven't touched on before. Me getting ill again over April certainly didn't help either, but In the end, the most fun I had here was giving Yuki a role that didn't have her remain shackled to the stereotypical damsel-in-distress role she had in Warlords.

I absolutely adore this one, this is exactly what I wanted for Yuki. It was so satisfying getting to see her develop and grow as well as contribute to the fight against the Genma. Her being more of a support suits her personality, but it was great watching her grow more active as the story went on. It never ceases to amaze me how you write these stories while always keeping every character true to themselves, it would have been so easy to make Yuki grow hard after everything she went through so I'm really happy you made her keep her kindness while still getting stronger.
And I was delightfully surprised by Ranmaru's redemption, it was unexpected but the way he turned against the Genma felt very natural. And given the comments about Nobunaga's honour I was almost starting to wonder if he would get purified (now there would be an interesting scenario!) but it made sense that he was too far gone: as you said, finding the limits on powers is important to a story. And the ending was so satisfying, I always love when the heroes get to be happy. It was kind of funny having the doubles all turn up at Honnoji but it all worked strangely well.
Loved this one, I always smile so much each time one of these videos gets released.
