Death is my favorite character mainly thanks to Tom Baker's excellent performance Honestly if someone makes an adaption of Reaper Man he should voice Death in it.
poor Daniel wasn't a coward, he's a brave unlucky soldier.
As much as I enjoyed the original and the excellent remake, I much prefer how Resurrection showcased more of the chararacter's personalities and how Dan had more lines. Not to mention Tom Baker's excellent narration bits.
tecnically speaking all 3 happened, dan creates a looping timeline where he fights zarok 3 times, once before he dies, once after he dies and then he travels back in time to do it a final time, completing the loop. which is why dan is a bit more expressive the second time around (psp).
It's up to taste. The original will always be the best imo.

Resurrection had the best cutscenes and probably the best soundtrack

As great as the original’s voice acting was, I kind of prefer this Hall Of Heroes with how expressive the heroes are, not being statues. Dan being more expressive also helps flesh their characters out as well.

I love playing this game I actually played at all the time bringing back memories
The entirety of this game feels like an anime filler episode but I so enjoy seeing more of Daniel's expressions and jawless mumbling

yea. but the remake is rather almost exact same story as the original. only it's been rewrite the CGI in the progress i should say. Of course, what i did not expect is the fact they've used the same voices from the original.

I love this remake PSP version, the New remake and the Original. All 3 games are the same story and all 3 have different things to be praised for.
I love the original, but I do appreciate this in its own right
I'm excited for the remaster coming this year. And Resurrection is silly and comical and I love it without even seeing any gameplay or playing the game myself.
@@jacktheomnithere2127 the game play is nice. They tweaked weapon progression and changed how things like lightning can be recharged at shop gargoyles. I think it's good in it's own right. But it just doesn't capture the macabre of the original.

What if a Remake of Medieval: Resurrection was made as DLC for the Remake of the Medieval game currently out? Who'd buy it.
No one, resurrection was like a ligth "remake" of the original already, why would you play this when we already have the original modern remake? they better make a MEDIEVIL 2 remake as well and forget this one existed.
Medievil resurrection is way better remake and I would pay for it.
I'd say just do a direct port. Otherwise I want MediEvil 2 remake.

In the new comic, Canny Tim is revealed to be a girl. In this game, we see more so how that may be more true.
Well the original creators wrote that comic so it all works out
With the exception of the coughing fits. I found it super frustrating that they didn't use some of this Zarok Dialogue in the remake... He has so much "contempt" for Dan in that first interaction at 9:50 He layers on that loathing so thick it's amazing. You really get the feeling that Zarok does not respect Dan in any way shape or form. in fact he almost entirely forgets about him as soon as he leaves the mausoleum
Yeah you have to question why the remake didn't get new dialog. It's kinda disappointing

I never played the game nor saw any gameplay but I can tell that this is one of the best games of it's time! Full of personality and funny moments. With a hint of 4th Wall breaking.

Thankfully the remake did it justice.
Luckily the remaster brought it back. The grim excitement and adventure from back then with new tweaks of modern technology.

I really appreciate you posting this :-) I'm visually impaired and can't see the play games and I like to watch the cutscenes I remember this game from when I was a kid but it feels like there were some parts missing like we didn't actually see the mecca night or the Pumpkin King at all and some of those other monsters in the end weren't even mentioned
Game of my childhood wow it´s been at least 10 years since i played for the last time.
I think this is a very good Remake. Everytime I see this ending scene I drop a tear, such a Beautiful and Underrated Series

IKR, the voice cast and graphics were nicer
+Nicole Salvin - The original is just called "MediEvil" This is MediEvil Resurrection, it was a reboot/remake for PSP, same general idea, though much was changed in terms of characters, levels, and overall look and feel of the game. Resurrection is a good game in it's own right, though when compared to the original it doesn't stand a chance.
The original cutscenes had a darker, creepier feeling to them which I loved.
Problem, as made apparent by this video, is comic relief. The original was actually quite a dark game, comedy was there to relief a bit of tension. Resurrection is a comedy game full stop.

Everytime someone mentions Dan's accident, I feel bad for him! I don't really like that changed his accident from "Rushing into battle and just *happening* to get hit by the first arrow" to "Some coward who held back and died."
I agree I prefer that Sir Dan at least ATTEMPTED to be brave by leading King Peregrin's Army into battle against Zarok but was unfortunately killed by being fatally wounded in the left eye by the first arrow fired
MediEvil Resurrection wasn't that bad i still think the original is better its both serious and funny while this one has more humor and brilliant script to make it funny

Zarok in this one almost sounds like Mark Hamil
Paul Darrow voiced Zarok in both the original and Resurrection, though his performance here does feel a bit different. It's funny you should bring up Mark Hamill though, since Paul Darrow's most famous role is also as a main protagonist in a sci-fi franchise about a small group fighting against an evil empire (Avon in Blake's 7, great show), just like Hamill as Luke Skywalker. Considering Tom Baker (the Fourth Doctor from Doctor Who) voices Death in Resurrection too, there's almost British sci-fi ensemble going on here :P

There's a reason for it, in the original Dan died because he was brave and led the charge against Zarrock, so the whole redemption quest thing is ruined because in this he's a complete coward and there's some annoying Jamaican worm talking to you all the time.

I enjoy this game, and it's a good game in it's own right, however I will always, HATE what they did to the gargoyles in this. Some dumb blob of clay on a pedestal... I just don't get it.
Also, Al Zalam, and the changes to the Hall of Heroes are pretty unforgiveable..

The Anubis stone was actually broken into 5 pieces not 4.
Locations Shadow demon prison witch of pumpkin gorge , king perigrin, the mayor of sleeping village and the chief king mollucks tomb.
Actually, the mayor of Sleepy Village's great, great, great grandfather placed the Anubis Stone in the Shadow Demon prison ... "for safety reasons." So it's just 4 pieces of the stone.

Well in the original when the warrior queen told Sir Dan she liked him he went, "Oh no" showing that he probably doesn't like her

I dunno, something about this feels more Burtonesque and makes me wonder what it would’ve been like if the 2019 remake went in a similar direction in terms of art style.

Are You Excited About Remake MediEvil In PlayStation 4
To think that this was supposed to be an original MediEvil game first, but then Sony wanted the game to be a PSP launch title, so instead we got a slapstick, overly British (not bad), mashup of ideas of the two existing games, as well as ideas from the proposed MediEvil 3 all tucked into a pseudo - remake of the first game.
When will they remake the sequel. This PSP remake was my childhood but it was comical and magical!
