Every time I think I've seen my favourite one of these What-If scenarios you come out with another banger, god I love your channel! This was an incredible scenario to sit through, I absolutely adored seeing the Genma in the good guy role as it gave a lot of them the chance to show more personality. Highlights were Osric's friendly rivalry with Samanosuke, which reminds me a little of Jubei and Gogandantess from your first What-If, and Ophelia being Jubei's mother. It was nice seeing him have time to get to know his mother, one of the sad things about Takajo's story in Samurai's Destiny was how little she got to spend time with Jubei. And it was interesting seeing how these events changed the historical timeline, loved seeing Yumemaru rule as Shogun. While it was a shame not to see every character, I agree with your point that it made sense to stick to the ones that impacted the story rather than having them show up for the sake of it. Ekei getting to fulfill his dream was sweet and I loved seeing another scenario where Yuki was involved all the way through. Fantastic video, already looking forward to seeing the next What-If. Sorry to hear you've been ill, be sure to take care of yourself and don't overdo things, your work is always worth waiting for however long it takes so don't feel you have to rush. Side note but the way you described the oni gauntlet as latching onto the arms with tendrils and the risk of corruption when using it made me think of how it was shown in the Netflix anime. In fact I actually think this scenario makes that presentation make more sense, and considering the smaller scale of that story it could actually work as a what-if continuation of this scenario. Imagine if that gauntlet was one of the ones Guildenstern was experimenting on, stolen and kept hidden until a suitable human could be found to wield it. And the reason it acted so parasitical and was too dangerous to wear for long is that it was clinging on to the last remaining vestiges of Oni power, desperate to suck up Genma souls to regain power. Obviously there would still be a lot of work needed to make that series fit (and better in general as I'm still disappointed by it) but it does fix my issue with how the show treated the gauntlet.

Capcom needs to start taking notes if they consider rebooting the franchise, and reintroduce characters.

Man, I hope to see this mod run in the DLC. I feel like it'll fit better with the atmosphere since I see the Shadowrealm being hell of the game. I don't have Elden Ring on the PC, but it's nice to see it in this video.

I think it's strange in this game that they never had jubei with the eye patch because the real Jubei Yagya had an eye patch and was meant to have lost his left eye early on in his life and wore an eye patch all his life and he was known as the one eyed swordsman for most of his life. They could have come up with a really cool story for why he lost his eye like a genma struck it and he lost his eye.

I think toshiros yojimbo is a more relatable character than his musashi which is kind of more fantasy than yojiro who is a regular man and the story of getting old and pushing on is real. There was no genma bosses or lore nothing. Really was like a terrible ninja scroll. It’s not rewatchable and really sucked. The same musashi story all over again. I guess they were trying to copy 2 w the gold mine and forest settings but it was the Genma and background how they appeared that made it interesting.

I played the first game so many times. It's my favorite in the series but I never knew that Kaede & Samanosuke were a couple. That makes the ending of the first game sting even more as we're told that Kaede dies in a war without ever finding Samanosuke despite trying for many years. 😢 Looking back at the footage for Onimusha 3.. Man, I still dislike that game alot. That's the one ruined the series for me. The return of Samanosuke was ruined by having to split the game in half with another character who I had no interest in.

I wanted this to do for the games what Edgerunners did for CP2077. Too bad…

It would be a treat to see all these items rendered in HD. Alas…

I dont recall Samanoske and Kade ever having a romantic relationship. Unless I missed reading a gamefile or there's a manga or something that was stated.

I was elated to get my hands on night of genesis, and spent years dreaming about twighlight of desires. 9 years later, I finally know the content of this manga. Really, thank you and thank you to everyone who worked on translating this manga and making it accessible. Thank you with all my heart.

Not to mention, they were also useful to spread the word as well. When I started working on the mod at the very beginning of this year, I did not expect it to grow to such proportions, and for Murad to get involved this much into the project. And your latest contribution with the model rips of Onimusha 2 solidified this Oni team effort even further. It's safe to say that we now have a very solid groundwork for what could possibly become one of the best Onimusha mods. I'm looking forward to future videos because I know there will be more, especially since the DLC is coming soon and will open more possibilities to the mod. I can already see you tackle NG+ with Genma roaming the Lands Between (spoilers?) with fixed Onimusha soundtrack from the start! Cheers! 🍻

Guildensterns return really surpriced me. There could be more options aswell. Like well there were 2 samanosu at the end of demon siege so maybe is similar. He could have a backup body. The one in 3 was not the real him, or this one is not the real one but a copy made by Rosencrantz. You know while Rosencrantz , had a higher position I always asumed Guildenstern was smarter with everything he did in the original 3 games.

Seriously this a great reminder of how amazing the onimusha series was. We were let down by the half ass remaster of the first one. Capcom is really going out of its way to bury the onimusha series, especially in this period or full one remakes of resident evil

Also, your addition to the credits is fully justified, not only because of the feedback your videos have provided, but also because of the bugs you have reported and the coverage of the mod since Day One. The mod is still in its early days, and Onimusha isn't known to all sadly, so there aren't that many players yet, that is why any coverage is greatly appreciated! 👏 Regarding Jubei's weapons, I think we'll get there at some point. I mean, now we have some models (again, thanks to you!), they just need a lot of rework. Just because it looks tedious tho, doesn't mean it'll be impossible, especially now that Murad is directly involved into the project's development. Speaking of which, shootout to Murad for his incredible work on Jacques' weapons featured in today's video, as well as the Bishamon Sword orbs and the reworked normal/material maps (especially on that Gauntlet)! 👌 Yeah, the Red Sting and Oni Whip aren't that powerful, most definitely. I mean, from the start I had the intent of making those pretty much underpowered compared to the magic weapons, but I may have just been too harsh. Anyway, thanks for your reiterated feedback on this. I sure plan to make some adjustments in the future. 🙌 I like how the "TIDY APPROVED" has become the seal of approval/satisfaction! But given some twists and turns the playthrough can sometimes take, I think we also, definitely need a "TIDY DENIED" ! 😆 I believe it's a good thing you took out Mohg now, even tho there aren't any Oni rewards from him. After all, I believe Miquella's cocoon is where the DLC will be accessible from. In the cutscene, Mohg is literally using Miquella's blood as a "portal" to come back from somewhere... and that mysterious location, I think, is the Shadow of the Erdtree's. It's possible we'll enter that blood pool when the DLC drops, so it's good you unlocked the area in advance! Unless, you plan to go into NG+. I mean, you still have time, since DLC will not arrive until the end of next month. ✌ Oh, by the way: the Evil Plate isn't ready yet, as I've run into a strange issue where the icon would revert to the default one although I replaced it. That's why it's listed, but it's not actually in there/checked. It's a shame because it's basically ready, just gotta figure out what's the problem with it not displaying correctly. 🤔 I noticed that music muted at some point. Music modding in Elden Ring isn't quite stable yet. Truth is, it's very, very early alpha stage of that part of ER modding. Like, this Onimusha mod for Elden Ring is actually the VERY FIRST mod to modify sounds and music in Elden Ring. So yeah, you can expect some bugs here and there, but nothing game breaking, I hope. 🤞 Ah, the Sealed Gauntlet is yours! To tell you the truth, I only called it the Genma Gauntlet because of the Genma Samonji. Like, you have the Onimusha Sword and the Oni Gauntlet... That's why you need a Genma Gauntlet to the Genma Samonji. 😉But this is my own logic, and I think it's out of place. yo, i know its been 2 years, just started replaying this game, gotta add an information about jubei's name, which actually is not a name, but a title given to the strongest of the kids of the village. She even go to say that her grandfather was called that when he was 15. Hope it shines some light on that possibility of a real "character" inspiration

Wasn't expecting the shout out at the end 😊 I absolutely adore this one, this is exactly what I wanted for Yuki. It was so satisfying getting to see her develop and grow as well as contribute to the fight against the Genma. Her being more of a support suits her personality, but it was great watching her grow more active as the story went on. It never ceases to amaze me how you write these stories while always keeping every character true to themselves, it would have been so easy to make Yuki grow hard after everything she went through so I'm really happy you made her keep her kindness while still getting stronger. And I was delightfully surprised by Ranmaru's redemption, it was unexpected but the way he turned against the Genma felt very natural. And given the comments about Nobunaga's honour I was almost starting to wonder if he would get purified (now there would be an interesting scenario!) but it made sense that he was too far gone: as you said, finding the limits on powers is important to a story. And the ending was so satisfying, I always love when the heroes get to be happy. It was kind of funny having the doubles all turn up at Honnoji but it all worked strangely well. Loved this one, I always smile so much each time one of these videos gets released.

Keep pumping out the Oni content brother. I’ve been coming back to my games for 20 plus years lol when Capcom drops something for the fans they will flock to your videos.
