A bit, found out: - Guard can cancel strings and recovery frame for some skills. - some skills can be activated in any desired direction when target is unlocked.
Man i knew katalina had the potential to do amazing burst if you can time in her meter just right but damn (edit just notice the mob also had ice weakness so damage numbers aint too accurate but still). Also does her summon (i forgot the name of it) disappear at the end of your combo/ if you stop attacking? Or is there a hidden timer or just both lol.
This was just my sth I got from my little experience in this demo, might not be correct: - Ares (the summoned dude) will usually ended when u stop a combo string after u summoned it. - Ares can somehow be remaining the summoned form if u did a good timing in chaining the skill sets after the combo (not infinitely tho Ig)
Ares can remain if you cancel into a skill, for example pact combo-->frost projectile skill-->pact combo-->frost projectile-->pact combo-->lunge skill etc. You have a small window to cancel into a combo or skill so ares remains

Do you play the game in Performance or 4K mode? The video quality looks clean and smooth, but the 4k mode didn't have 60fps. Just curious how you got this quality.
I did it in Performance (60fps), recorded the clip in 4K in PS5. No post edits upscaling or acceleration. I think it's the game really gets a good graphic so it kinda makes u feel the quality looks more clean and having a high clarity.
I am new to Cygames, and these clips are sth I recorded in my only six hours of the demo gameplay (u can check all of them in my Livestream). I would say please try to be less strict and harsh to me since I ain't playing only one game.

If u wanna reduce getting interrupted by other minors in doing the fight, I would suggest to practice on switching target or even not locking on the enemies. For the Zeta thing, really dunno why used two air dash is a bit more tho lol
It is a shame they didn't give us a training dummy, despite their being one in the tutorial. I need to do something like this myself. Try and really see what each char can do, online or with a party changes it all too much that you cant really see what the character is capable of.

I have done all 3 quests with every character but I already decided I dont want to spend obscene amounts of time on the demo because combat is like less than 50% of the overall gameplay of the game and it will get boring so fast. I will practice a bit next week before the game releases then when it does release then I will apply effort in learning character.
Thankfully there's a training dummy mode in the full version as shown during the GBF Fes stream back in January last year, can't wait to see what people cook up
Compared to Nioh 2, how deep are the systems of the combat options? I see youve made nioh videos and i still play nioh to this very day since they both launched and have entire weapon classes ive still not got around to making builds with. What other games would you compare the depth of the games combat systems to? Not asking what is this game like, i mean the level of complexity and variety?? 😊
Its not really that complex but each character has their own mechanics system and can slot 4 skills which are all different for each class, that is irregardless of buffs from gear as the gear system in this game is not gear but just flat buffs. So instead of thinking like classes or weapons think characters with each having a different playstyle and core mechanic. Mechanically its basic, 2 attack buttons, 1 jump, a button for link attack which is a canned animation after a stun and 2 buttons for block/dodge. Some characters only have 1 attack button as their other button can be something else like a parry.
To me, the level of complexity and combat similarity could be more appropriate to compare with Dynasty Warriors or Samurai Warriors series. It's actually Not having a diversified combat system like Nioh in this demo, but I think it's actually a good thing for it since it's a multi characters ARPG. I would say it's not a Hack and Slash genre in general, but there're some traits of the combat system that would allow u to play stylishly, like the case in FFVIIR.
Wow thank you for helping me understand guys, i have a much better understanding now, the combat might not be super deep, but the systems built around it, like gearing up, multiple characters and multiplayer synergies offer a ton of different ways to play throughout the 100+ missions. That really sounds great, i see comparisons to Tales games, Monster Hunter and you say FF7 which all sounds very enticing, i wish i could have played the demo, but thank you again for explaining ❤😊 it really looks like it could offer me the gaming experiences i really enjoy, which is epic action games with combat being the main hook

No Io combo I get it, she is kinda not fast paced But I hope dev changes some of her moves so she can do combos but still feels like you are playing mage
Tbh she has potential to do combo too, the magic works good. But I was just not having the vibe (aka lazy lol) to work on her and the big guys bc they work too differently according the played characters here, my bad for that.
@_pennywize you can trigger stance swap combos with Narmaya if you pay attention to the flashing. For example when u finish the auto combo in unsheated mode u get a chance to swap stance and after using charged light in sheated stance if you let the animation run a little.

the Zeta combo can use a bit more of the air dash loop, also Narmaya looks a bit rough if not utilizing the butterfly stacks

The were almost all cool, except for Narmaya. She has a lot of techs that were not used, if you know them, she could do way better combos.
