The guys who joined him were the remaining members of The Makaha Sons of Ni'ihau, who he'd started his career as a kid with his brother Skippy (since passed). This had a huge effect on seasoned entertainers, like Keali'i Reichel (shown) to those watching on TV. It his "Aloha" performance. It still gives my "chicken skin" and tears to this day.
At about 3:00 minutes into this video the singing starts and it is from the heart, for his culture, dedicated to teenagers everywhere.....singing straight from his heart.....very inspirational and emotional!

This was a historic night in Hawaiian music as the Makaha Sons of Ni’ihau finally reach reconciliation with braddah IZ. I was to young to remember this, but my pops, a Kanaka, 3rd generation, born and raised Lahaina says that this night was more memorable than his wedding night

What a guy, I wish I had known him. God blessed him inside and out with the voice of an Angle. I never knew him until I saw this video but I will remember him forever as being one of Gods tresures and my friend. I found out about Iz through his recording of "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" but then I found out what a legend he was... and now I know why... he was a man of such passion and it shines through in his music and in this performance.
