Ive been listening to this over and over for 4-5 years. It got me into modular and inspired my module choices. For this you'll forever be one of my favorite modular musicians.
Still eagerly waiting for those patch notes! ;) This is a video I regularly come back to, close my eyes, and escape the world for 5 minutes. Thank you so much for this masterpiece
These are great modules, but they would be nothing without the awesome melody you created. I loved how it merges with the clouds grains in crescendo, it gives a nice movement and evolution .
The melody of this song gets stuck in my head allll the time. I usually don't revisit youtube jams, even if I like them, but R Beny is a rare exception :)
almost thought this was gone- came back again- heart break got me hurting- trying to find myself again. love this track been coming to it for as long as its been own
Moss is also a small town in Norway. I could easily imagine this as background music to a typical event in that town, crossing the bridge between this town and an island, or waiting for a buss that never comes. It's of course raining, but probably spring as it is more damp and humid than cold. My point is that this music evokes imagination and poetry, or a poetic frame of mind.
Is the original music a recorded guitar sample played through into the modular system or or is it a sequence generated from an oscillator? Epic soundscape man. This is a go-to channel for me now when I want to have a mild existential moment. Very very cool Mr. Wizard.
Sooooooo good, R. Incredibly evocative. And I dig your static. 😉😊I feel I understand your use of it, though I won't elaborate; music is different to everyone.
This is so beautiful, I find myself coming back to this video over and over again. Enchanting, as if a story is being told; without understanding the words, you still seem to get the meaning of this story. What do you use to modulate lofi/rings/clouds? Any other devices at work?
I keep coming back to this one. Very haunting. One thing i always wondered about is how you sampled the melody. Did you generate it in a Module or does it come from outside, like from a Synth?
the melody is 2 parts - the audio/sound source is mutable instruments rings (running through a bunch of fx). the sequence itself is midi converted into cv (korg electribe 2 into mutable instruments yarns module).
r beny Korg electribe oscillators are so simple yet beautifully designed to maximize sound design. Always achieved good sounds from those going back to the very first model. Love your melodies. Your electribe pieces are always my favorites but this one is fantastic as well.
Beautiful ... I'm a sucker for plaintive guitar arpeggios that get swallowed by noise (viz. Mogwai, Tarentel, Infidel/Castro). And yes, I'm surprised this isn't actually guitar -- that's one good module you've got there, and also your melody is very idiomatic.
I used to play guitar (kinda still do?), so I'm sure some of that influence seeps into the sounds I like out of a synthesizer. Those bands you mentioned are all huge influences.
I've got your bandcamp page open in another tab and will be making some purchases :) You're also contributing to my temptation to dabble in modular synths - Pittsburgh Modular's Lifeforms box is really tempting!
Hey, can you explain how you got the background-noisy-lead going? As you said, you used the doepfer bitcrusher, but what was the sound source for it? And what do you use as a sequencer for the rings?
you just can't not leave a comment of appreciation for this guy's every single performance, cus they're all magic
Still coming back to this years later - one of my favourite things you’ve ever made 🪨🍃
an oldie for sure ~ this makes me miss that doepfer 189
Some kind of timeless piece... could listen to for ages.

Back again. Never gets old.
I've awoken with this piece stuck in my head for 3 days and counting. It's beautiful; great patching.

I really like the interference sort of sound. The song in general just sounds great, thank you for making sharing your music.
These are great modules, but they would be nothing without the awesome melody you created. I loved how it merges with the clouds grains in crescendo, it gives a nice movement and evolution .
I've listened to this a bunch of times. A+ 100%
My lo-fi junky module arrives tomorrow....watching this (again!) in anticipation for it. Love this track.
Realy love you . You and Monotrail can be a great team :)
Been watching your videos ever since I got into eurorack stuff and every video still surprises me with how good it is!
The melody of this song gets stuck in my head allll the time. I usually don't revisit youtube jams, even if I like them, but R Beny is a rare exception :)
Minimal yet rich, beautiful
Jesus. This is painfully beautiful.
Absolutely beautiful. The Junky and the VBM play perfectly together here, kudos.
Sounds like something was prerecorded and then eurorack played along with it. I like that style not so limited. ❤️ Great job!
Very beautiful composition.
very nice. beautiful as always!
My gods, this is great. I love the washes of noise boiling up around the melody. And when the bass comes in around 2:08... Shivers.
This was great. Thank you for sharing.
Always beautiful progression and music! Keep up the good work!
Beautiful!
Your tunes are so good! Glad I stumbled into this synth land :)
This is really wonderful.
2:05 I am in heaven, thank you for all the great moments I live with your ambiant tracks :) I love the way you put disto on the reverb ;)
That was needed! Now I feel better! Thanks for this
Absolutely gorgeous!
Just bloody lovely. Skill.
The Lo-Fi Junky suits your style a lot. Very sweet sounding patch and music.

almost thought this was gone- came back again- heart break got me hurting- trying to find myself again. love this track been coming to it for as long as its been own
This is amazing, Nice one
Loved it! Thanks for sharing this
Loving the fuzz, man! When noise is used in a complementary fashion like this, I find it really peaceful. Like the sound of a bit crushed ocean.
Yeah, I love noise. I love the way Tim Hecker and Fennesz use it
"Bit crushed ocean" is a great way of putting it haha
yeah! it's so cool to find in the net a person with the same sound taste!!!)))
I never comment on videos. You just made me. Great stuff man.
Very nice!

It's the second module you see: "Rings" that is able to produce those guitars and other string type instruments
Interdits Too slick. Thanks G.
@@YannickRBon sure?
@@sirolim_ yes.

good as heck
cool, nice, ambiant
your new name is rBibieny haha. jk i love that pedal and i love all the new sounds you're making man. keep it up!
er module... same thing
This is so beautiful, I find myself coming back to this video over and over again. Enchanting, as if a story is being told; without understanding the words, you still seem to get the meaning of this story.
What do you use to modulate lofi/rings/clouds? Any other devices at work?
My main modulation sources here are Maths, Tides and NanoRand. I just got a Malekko Voltage Block that will be featured in upcoming videos.
I keep coming back to this one. Very haunting.

God Damn awesome
flying into the moon
what is controlling the volt per octave and the strum on the Rings? Trying to replicate this beatiful piece
The Electribe 2 via Yarns.
Thanks!
Incredibly musical! I could kill for those famous patch notes you know ...
wish i had taken a better photo for this patch. doepfer 189 is the magic sauce in this patch though.
Fantastic, inspiring. do you have the rack used on MG?
Sweet 🇫🇷
awesome performance. do you have a bandcamp/soundcloud account?

dat lofi junky dirt!
Awesome!!! How do you generate these gentle noise textures? Keep up your work, man!
Wow beautiful piece. Is the Rings making the guitar sound? Very convincing.
correct!
@@rbeny Sounds so good! The beginning part of the riff kinda reminds me of Me & You - Give Me Shelter
Hey, can you explain how you got the background-noisy-lead going? As you said, you used the doepfer bitcrusher, but what was the sound source for it?

best patch I've seen in ages, whats making the fuzz?
Thanks! That would be the Doepfer 189-1 A
eager to get my hands on a Junky, Beautiful patch, what are you using to sequence rings ?
The Electribe 2 via Yarns.
