People don't realize, that if you go far enough out into the wilderness, there are wild modulars, pretty much everywhere, and they aren't afraid of humans.
I wake up to this each morning at 7am, it is my phone alarm sound, each time I'm completely happy to spring out of bed and put the kettle on or lay there just enjoying the gorgeous textures of sound.
Let me guess... You're a white person? You make it seem like you need to make yourself "feel" happy but for what? This is literally hipster, media propaganda fed hand me down dumb shit. I don't know how to explain it but the only thing I can say is the way you people act is ridiculous.
@@xaviermccloud4586 are you talking about the question or the video? Are you mad because this person finds this sound pleasant in the morning and suggests it as an alarm clock? I don't get you people, whoever you are
You know... watching your outdoor videos were the very inspiration for me to grab some gear and try it myself. It took me a year to actually jump into the unknown, but once in the deep, never bailing out. Learning by making mistakes, embracing all these small unplanned but wonderful musical surprises while fiddling knobs in nature. I especially got to appreciate being under or near trees. My next trip is going to be full-on ambient bliss... and you made me do it 😘Thanks and have an wonderful EPIC day! Greetings from The Netherlands. Nicolas
So cool to see/hear synth in the woods. Well done, thanks for sharing. I also love to take my keyboards and other musical instruments to nature places. Being sensitive to my surroundings, they influence my playing, and become part of the performance. Happy Trails.....
Many years ago, when I was a younger man, I climbed to the top of Mount Shasta. As you climb above the tree line, the environment becomes more alien and gives you strange feelings, that you never had before. This music video, brings me back to that time, and the feelings I had there. Beautiful. Thanks for rekindling my fond memories of that journey.
Great stuff! The background is like a hugely scaled up version of where I live, on the shores of Llyn Crafnant, "The valley of wild garlic" in Wales. Your music moves in the slow way that light shifts over mountains and is the perfect accompaniment to such scenery. I really am going to have to get some MI modules; I heard an interview with the man behind the soldering iron (classy French guy whose name escapes me) and loved his ethics and how he let them dictate his business model, and it's even more sweet to hear just how good his products can sound.
The sounds and textures make me imagine being in the wilds of north america, perhaps in a mountain or not unlike a place where this video is taken. Being there early on a crisp cool morning and seeing the sun rise up slowly from the horizon, the rays of brilliant light shooting through gaps in the clouds bathing the landscape in a warm orange glow. Towards the end, it makes me think of the sun nearing the peak of its rise. The clouds are gone, and everything is illuminated equally under the midday sun.
Very inspiring music, video and setup! You make me want to sell all my gears except my mother 32 and start building a modular case! Can't wait your next Field trip session!
I know I shouldn't but I just end up hitting like before it has even started, and never regret it. Thanks to this channel I have started a journey of learning into modular synth.
Incredibly enjoyable listening to your art. I've been creating ambient music for years and now you've inspired me to join the patchbay collective, so, thank you very much for that and the wonderful meditations.
I was looking forward to hearing what you did with the Telharmonic after you shared it on IG! I can't get mine to stop sounding 'sterile', but I need to dig in deeper. You're doing consistently incredible work. Just ridiculously beautiful. I usually end up going on a magical journey and watching your collection of Field Trips in a row when a new one comes out. \^o^/
Very nice. Just subbed. That one was very reminiscent of Boards of Canada a bit there very nice. Just in the process of teaching myself how to wright electronic music, again. I know this sounds a bit daft but i finally figured out how to us my track automation. (self taught.) Watching some modular synth ppl's. really helped me realized how to do some basic shit that I was missing and it blew my mind. Anyways I like your style. Simplicity nurtures complexity. Modular synth the birth mother of electronic music. :)
I think you begin by opening your wallet and emptying it into a bottomless pit haha. But seriously, I'm asking the same question, really want to get it started but it's daunting and very complicated for a beginner!
How do you like the ZVEW Lofi Junky? I have an effect pedal made/designed by a former ZVEX employee who designed the Lofi Junky while working at ZVEX, the Chase Bliss Audio Warped Vinyl. Always thought it would be a killer thing to adapt into a euro module, the pedal has so much control over the parameters which would be a dream to have them all CV controllable. Naturally I was excited to find out about the ZVEX modules, That’s going on my wish list for sure. Also I must say the backdrops for these videos are epicly beautiful and really mess well with the feel of your tracks. The Pacifc Northwest sure is beautiful.
At first -> great JAM ! ! ! Second thought, how did you power it and what powersource can you suggest to use a system outside ? If there is any. Best wishes and greetings, Julian
I saw your pinned video on your profile and I thought that mountain in the beginning looked like mount hood. Then I saw this which confirmed you're in the north oregon area. Now I just have to figure out if it's a big coincidence that i'm also in pdx, or if the youtube algorithm has determined my location and is sending me videos from local people. Have you ever been to control voltage on Mississippi street?

Organic and alien at the same time, could be another world. Whatever it is, it's good for the ears

How do you power your gear outdoors?
I use a portable jump starter with a 12v DC output
That's a great idea. How much time do you get out of the charged jump starter..?
Sweet !
Sky Whales
Excellent! I really enjoy your music. What eurorack case are you using in this video?
