I think he set the tone for this series, possibly like Willie Mays did with his catch in the 1954 World Series. That Detroit team was good. I believe that the trajectory of a game or series can hinge on individual plays.

@plantmandanny it wasn't the world series but Timmy set the pace for all three rings in game one of the 2010 playoffs against the braves.

That 3-1 comeback against the Cards was legendary. Outscored them 20-1. Then outscored Detroit 16-6. A 36-7 stretch across 7 games.
4 shutouts and the tigers only scored in game 1 when the game was effectively over.

Babe Ruth twice. Reggie Jackson. Albert Pujols. Pablo Sandoval. These 4 people hit 3 HRs in a World Series game. Sandoval is the only one to do it in his first 3 at bats, he singled in his 4th. Pablo may not make the Hall of Fame, but hes Legendary in the Bay.

+Edward Herrera PED≠steroids, you know. HGH, for example, improves eyesight, which is key to a batter's success. Educate yourself a bit before dismissing the obvious. Does anyone really think that the team that enabled Barry Bonds--and profited largely from it without penalty, fine or censure--suddenly decided to play it straight and keep losing like they had since 1954? Everything the Giants have done since Bonds retired is tainted.
