Great work Euan, jeez, that piston had sh*t itself somewhat 😂..looks great now, especially against those wheels and tyres. Brilliant choice those mate, they look stunning!

I have a spongy feeling brake, but their are no discernable leaks, and I've blead all the air out of the system. I have a high quality braided steel line as well. Are there any other causes you might know of for a spongy feeling lever?
Could be an issue with your master cylinder on the lever. That's an easy enough job to rebuild! Mind you, some motorbike brakes do just feel a tad spongey.
Looking forward to seeing it completed
ENGAGEMENT!
Nice video Mr Shoogly sir! You're getting good at this 👏
Well in bro! looking good! excited for the maiden voyage shake down shot! 😜
Looking good Shoogly, looking forward to the carb rebuild video
This is a very informative build and each step is interesting to watch and learn from. 😊👍🏍
coming along nicely Euan cant wait for next one
Getting there pal looks good 🏴
Quality work my friend, looking forward to the next.
Looking forward to seeing it when you’re done!
Well done Ewan, that was a really good well presented video. Very informative. You're getting good at this 😂😂
Bike is looking great.
Thanks for the explanation on how TH-cam works.
Brilliant video mate
Spot on coming on a treat 👌
Doing this soon with my 550, going to be following this roughly and hopefully all goes well
with severly stuck piston try reconnecting brake line, bleed up and use mastercylinder to push piston out hope this helps for any in the future
Good to see you not using red rubber grease on the piston, should of used a small amount of brake fluid to ease it in.
You can do that if you're having trouble, I find they usually slide in with little issues if you've got it square.
Looking good mate
Love your vids and its coming along nicely. Can't believe how stubborn that piston was.

Keep em comming :D
Comment 👍🏼
"comment" just to help
Those penetrating fumes must have been pleasant.
Hot WD40 is my aftershave scent 😅
V light smear of copper slip on the back of the pads & anti squeal shim ?
Yes that's common. I tend not to do it, not for any particular reason though!

Does it get cold 🥶 whare u are 😊
It does, but usually for only a few weeks at a time!
Sure that pins are not bent?
Not bent, just seized in. Very common as they're steel going into an aluminium caliper and so the metal reacts with each other.
Maybe just camera angle but the first pin you put in looked bent (19:30)
@keithmon1234 I see what you mean, but I think it's a camera trick. Pin went back in smoothly and brake works great so I'm not concerned 👍🏻
44-year-old bike, are OEM parts still sold or is it all aftermarket?
OEM seals are what I've used on this, all the white packets are Honda OEM. The piston is a stainless aftermarket upgrade though.
What's the music you use for your intro?
@@PeteMcConnell I'll need to look it up! I bought it Royalty Free about 4 years ago.

edit: The bike does stop well enough - there is just a very bad brake feel if that makes sense.

@@ShooglyShedMotors Thanks! I think it's due for a rebuild anyway
