    Hey tinman I have a request for a future video. I know you said your going to be doing some 10-10 macs sometime. When you get there can you please do a complete teardown video. I have a crapliad of 10-10 saws and I have a couple that need some work. Would like to be able to do more of the work myself but I dint wanna make the leap without some idea of what I'm doing first.

  • @MotoLife541
    @MotoLife541 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    @tinmansaws does the chain on your 630 stop when you let off? Mine spins even at low idle and I cant find anything wrong with the clutch. Stretched or worn out clutch springs?

    • @tinmanssaws
      @tinmanssaws  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You need clutch springs if you can't idle it slow enough for the chain to stop. That's really common on this series of saw.

    That saw RIPS! She has a very unique sound, especially at idle. Did you have to do anything with the clutch so that it could idle that high without engaging?

    • @marcduclos9789
      @marcduclos9789 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Is the chaine over tighten?

    • @SonOfLiberty1984
      @SonOfLiberty1984 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@marcduclos9789 I dont think so. Watch when he is cutting brush and limbing. When the chain is free spinning and he lets off the throttle, the chain continues to free spin and decelerates slowly. An overtight chain will stop almost immediately when you let off the trigger.

    • @marcduclos9789
      @marcduclos9789 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@SonOfLiberty1984 Just a gest to the question. Idel ant got nothing to do with the cut. But I am a stone mason . Tin man is good at ansewring his own question. tbd.

    • @SonOfLiberty1984
      @SonOfLiberty1984 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@marcduclos9789 I agree that idle doesn't have anything to do with the cut. That saw revs to the moon but maintains that high rpm in the cut! I just noticed it has a high idle. It is my understanding that ported saws can sometimes require a high idle. I was wondering if that is the case here and if he had to use a heavier clutch or clutch spring to keep from engaging the chain at idle.

    Pay to get a falling lesson from Buckin. You didn't clean out your dutchman. Small irregular shaped trees like that are just as dangerous as the tall ones. Keep safe.

    • @splitpin1764
      @splitpin1764 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@theironhorse6600 Look again at his cut. the first cut was deeper than his angle cut, leaving a small kerf/slot at the hinge. That slot closed as the tree started to leave , which is why it stopped. Tinman then had to do more backcut, right as the tree was ready to break off. That was the danger, not where the tree was going to fall. I bet you a brand new chainsaw buckin would agree with me.
