Got some fresh pow in Utah this weekend and skied at Brighton getting my October day of every month this year with 6 inches of pow on 12 inches of grass now I am ready for the lift. Now all I have left is the easy part and same for you cool to see that you did turns all year to and glad to see with both did it.
I was there for #1 week. Came from NJ with lifelong ski buds to celebrate turning 60ish. Rise I met you online day of big storm. Anyway it was sick as hell we had a blast so much snow.
Bro's out here making me do 10 swigs of hot sauce in one video. Just ordered some liquid courage to replenish the supply. Keep doing what you're doing bro, love the videos.
Not to get anyone excited or anything but it's looking like a very wet winter may be coming to the North West this year! I'm stoked and I don't even get to go skiing but I know Rise & Alpine will and I will enjoy every single video on my sad little Aeroski lol!!! Yeeehawww! 🎿⛷
Yeah, that week Late Feb/ early March. Our family went Saturday. I remember we were having lunch at the Roundhouse. It had been snowing all morning. We had spent it skiing the peak. The precipitation was enough to fill the trail back in when you did a second lap. But not so much that you couldn’t see where you were going. Storm Riding Rules! Anyway we agreed to next ski down the blacks off Harmony. But the trails to it are boring- cross country like trails. So instead I pointed in the direction of the bottom of the chair and we ski’d through the trees -no marked trail. Just unbelievable. Winter wonderland. Then when we came out of it we merged with the end of a blue trail (G.S.) that was headed to the chair lift base. Exactly where we wanted to be. You don’t forget those runs. So stoked for this year.
James you are EN FUEGO!! I have skied lots of pow on Shale Slope, Cockalorum (spelling) Bagel Bowl, Christmas Tree etc… you have given me (and everyone else) powderific memories. Changing the subject I would like to buy your new neckgaiter. I should buy some Liquid Courage as well… you think it could travel to Finland?
Lol that was fun, cross referencing my Garmin history. I skied almost all of them. New year's I did in the evening for the backcountry so I could be on a summit for new year's day, the big storm in February I was in Park City instead (way less lines but still pow days so I consider that a win), and one in January I was in Hawaii, but overall it seems we have a similar mindset 😀 (I mean it ain't complicated, if it's dumping snow, go skiing!)
That's hilarious! People always ask my secret and it really is to have a career that allows for immediate dispatch when the snow is falling and you will be winning!
@@riseandalpine everyone at work generally understands if it's a powder day, I'll be starting and ending late 😅🤣 As for my favourite resort day(s) from last season, it has to be March 9-12th, the 4 straight days of powder days that left my legs totally knackered 😅
we went for a week and i guess we hit the jackpot of last season, i was worried but we there was a suprise dump and our entire week was pow and nice skiing
Hey James. I am wondering if you could make a vid on the best runs and lines on whistler mountian. I've skied there once last year and had a blast but I was always found myself in no really cool runs. I don't know the mountian at all. Thankyou!
If you take a look at my Whistler Blackcomb guides videos playlist on my channel I've got lots of goodies about my favourite lines from tree skiing, to the steepest runs to the groomers.
How do I never see you I was there for most of those days. I'm not actively looking but one of these years c'mon!! A high five a pole wave somethin 🤣 seeya opening weekend. (Or not) 🤣🤣
Looks like some snow coming soon! Hopefully doesn’t melt in 1 day this time. I also got one question. I’m heading over there January 3-11, so how crowded would you say it is over the time, and how good is the skiing generally?
I am absolutely not a sender. Quite the opposite! Just a guy who really really enjoys pow turns. I'm playing the longevity game and am happy to leave the sending for the more talented guys and gals out there.
When Rise and Alpine uploads, day gets better
Let's go! Gnar gnar binx
Thanks dawg!

Ayyyeeee! I remember chatting with you. Couldn't have timed that trip any better eh. What a ridiculous week.
Can’t wait to hopefully ski there for the first time this year!
Going to be a good year for it!
Your videos always cause a rise in my alpine 😉
Laura just asked why I'm laughing from the living room hahaha
@@riseandalpine love you guys
November 2nd couldnt come soon enough 😩
Sick!! Can't wait for the stone coming!!
Storms are needed!
Im so excited for ski season
Me too!
A rise and alpine upload a day keeps the freeze thaw cycle away
If that was the case I'd post every day for the boys!
Thanks for the recap.... 2023 / 2024 ski season. Even with a lack of snow at the beginning of the season, there were some EPIC days !
Should be even better this year!
@@riseandalpineYeah, as stoked as we get there is NOTHING like being there and doing it on those days.

It’s always a great time for pre season stoke
Indeed!
Babe, Rise and Alpine just dropped another banger!
hahahahah
Keep spreading that jam sauce god.
Will do GigaChad
Wolf creek opens tomorrow!!!
I know! I almost flew out there but the price was 2k from Van to CO LOL - Better to save those duckets and go somewhere cooler mid season!

For a bad season that looked pretty awsome. Probably better than our best season in Oz. Going to have to make the trip soon.

Here here, I've asked for specific lines I have seen in your vlogs to no avail. Your keeping secrets.

Always love a high five... The mountain feels small to me but you forget how big it is LOL. Crazy you've never spotted me. I'm always buzzing around.
That was rad
Was Such a cool season if u get out the bad moments. I wish this would be as insane or even insaner!!!
Fingers crossed it can be more insane!
LOL your mate missing the chair lift, what was he thinking :) I would expect a beginner
If my memory is correct, Couloir is French for hallway. That’s why they be straight and skinny.
That checks out!

I also got one question. I’m heading over there January 3-11, so how crowded would you say it is over the time, and how good is the skiing generally?
It's always weather dependent, but typically the whole mountain is open by the new year and there is always pow to be found in the Alpine!
Have Biggie in the books this year?? 👀 seems like it’s gonna be a good one
watching all of that snow disappear a few nights ago was just so depressing
It was killing me. Had so many ski plans that got cancelled hahaha
ya know what...
ima go ski
Jelly if you're in CO
@@riseandalpine In Pagosa Springs now, just waiting for WOlf Creek to open TOMORROW morning! I'm freaking out bad from the stoke bro...
in whistler, every day is considered a best day
You every thought about doing Japan?
10 best days, list starts at #11... hmm 🤔
Had to start with a runner up
That's just basic skier math right there is all 😁
Is the person in the back still alive ?
Best day is when Spankys opens after a snowfall
Getting a cup of freshly cracked Spanky's is the ultimate delight
