    My dad found a walker and the right brake was scraping against the wheel. Dove into fixing it, accidentally loosened the brakes, had no idea how to fix it because the other side started scraping, tried fixing that and made it worse 😬 I found your video, and was able to fix it easily! 10/10 best tutorial I ever found ✨️✨️✨️✨️

    Thank you! My mother was visiting and one of the brakes on her walker wasn’t tight and had been that way for a while. I only see her every few years because she lives in Alaska with a lot of other relatives. I told her it looks like the same design as the brakes on my bicycle when I was a kid. The only difference now is, I’ve got TH-cam!!! Fixed it in 5 minutes. THANKS GUYS!!!

    Thank you for this clear and informative video. This morning I was given an expensive walker that was replaced because nor the owner (who has no access to the internet) nor his “nurse” knew how to make these simple adjustments. I’m astounded by the waste.

    I was seriously STUCK; I'm a female who doesn't have wrenches nor access to any nor a man to do the job for me, & taking to the place I got it from is cumbersome (because I don't have my own transpo & trying to get a ride to the place is ridiculous!!) But, I did find an alternative to your wrenches!!! I used two different sets of tweezers!!! lol the bigger set to hold the nut in place & the smaller set to twist the other part!!! It worked great!!! And, what I couldn't do with tweezers, I just did with my own fingers!! The brakes work just like when I first got the rollator!!! Thanks for making the video!!! *FEMALE POWER!!!!* lol

Saves me from figuring it out on my own- and I'm guilty of using mine with none working brakes just because I didn't want to figure it out.... :| Now what I need to know is if there is a way to put some wheels on it that would work better for dirt/ gravel trails. My four wheeled walker is new and not only is it stiff, but oit also feels as if the brakes are dragging when they are not on. However, if I hit the brake lightly, it will stop dragging for a few minutes, but then goes back soon. What I mean by it being stiff, is that I can drag it with the wheel sideways and it won't turn... sometimes it is the other break. I'm sure I'm not the only one with this problem. Thank you.

    I am trying to replace the left break on my Drive #R726 Rollator Walker. Thanks to y'all, I was finally able to remove the hand grip after using Windex and soaking it in warm water. Now I am stuck. I can not get the cable out on the back wheel. I have unscrewed the nut about all the way, but I still can not get it out. Do y'all know a trick? Or please show me the correct way to get the final piece of the old break off my walker so I can replace the break. THANKS.

    Do you have a video on adjusting the brakes when they have been tightened and can't go any further? In other words, I need to take up the slack in the cable from the bottom near the wheel because the adjustment screws are backed out all the way. You mentioned something about showing that on another video. Your assistance is appreciated.

    I loosen the big nut and it pulls the lower handle up closer to the top handle with no play between them
    I think I played with the bottom two screws and that tightened the handles closer to each other, so I just went back to the bottom nuts and loosened them just like you did on the top. Still no play in the handles. (before I started messing with it, the bottom handle was totally fallen down and useless.)

    My bariatric rollator just arrived and the right rear brake was locked down so very tight that I could not even remove the plastic wrap that came on the wheel on that side. YOu made your adjustments at the top handle,but the instruction book to my Medline Guardian bariatric Rollator shows such being done only at the bottom. I did loosen that cable nut at the bottom, but it really did not loosen that right metal brake from the wheel. I did not want to pull down overly hard on the brake handle and break anything in the proces. My left side brake works just fine. I will give your method a trial, but so far it has been a real head scratcher for me in trying to fix the thing. Wish they had a video regarding such, but I found you guys on TH-cam and will check out your method to see if it works for me. Any other tips on such adjustments? Thanks.

    The 'Static Brake Lock' on my walker doesn't stay engaged. It's almost like it has worn out. There is no nice 'click' when you push the handle all the way down. I've adjusted both the top and bottom adjusters both 'in and out'. The brakes work fine, it's just that the Static Brake Lock won't click and hold. Thank you.

    I haven't been able to find youtube videos for REPLACING the brakes on a 4 wheel walker. In order for me (I am Carol's partner, Kathy) to put the walker in the back of the car I leave it expanded but pull the hairpin I installed to hold the handles in place, then I drop those handles on each side and lift the walker into the hatchback. Over time the wire sheath comes off or breaks off, I'm not sure. It costs about $60 to replace the brakes and I'm not sure they actually need to be replaced at all, it's just the wire sheath that is broken, not the actual metal cable. This needs to be done more than once a year so you can see why I'm wanting to fix them myself instead of paying for it over and over again. I'm wondering if I can solder or braze the wire or some other more durable retrofit. I need to be able to take the whole cable off in order to examine it and repair. Thank you for your help.

    Hi, my grandma has a walker like that and the left knob or bolt that tightens or holds the handle on the desire height somehow got loosen. I tried to screw it back in place but somehow it's not tightening. Is there a piece that's missing? because I checked the other side and dont see anything different besides just having to screw it in. I would really appreciate any advice. Thanks! :)

    • @nkaujhnubxyooj8409
      @nkaujhnubxyooj8409 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +physicaltherapyvideo No, I dont think it does. it just have a screw that goes through across and tightens. One thing I figured out was that the knob wont screw tight on the left side but it does work when I tried it on the right side. Could this possibly be that the left side hole where it has the swirling thing to help tighten the screw is worn out that's why it's not screwing tight?
