Akai Professional, remember that the attitude of this new and fantastic machine of yours is to be a stand-alone product. The queen would say the same. So limiting it and not giving it features like the Song Mode and the Export Audio Track are absolutely necessary. And many of us users have bought it because of these peculiarities. We all hope from your heart you listen to our simple requests. Thank you.
Wow. Well I like my workflow with the mpc software and fl studio 20. Both with no controller. Im definitely turned off that the force cant export audio. Or the fact all this time and energy is being put in to making midi contollers to do variations of the same thing but wont make the software a full out daw.
I've use the MPC software in the past, so I thought I was missing sub-mixes in the FORCE. This is not the case at all, just changed my thought process about the Drum Tracks...they can be viewed as 128 element sub-mixes. So I don't think of kits, instead I think of sound groups, and those sounds are added to the "bus". Another benefit is that, this strategy pushes you to convert all your plugin midi to audio (I still keep them muted in the project in case I want to re-sample a change). I think we should stop trying to turn the FORCE into an MPC and embrace new ways of working. This is an instrument...you perform with it, the song arrangement style is session based. You can record automation into your clips, one element at a time, or as many as you can perform at one time, and play it all back in the scene. After I mix my song right on the FORCE, I can record the stereo performance in the FORCE using the sampler, or record into another DAW. If I'm remote just save .WAV on an SD card and pop in to the PC when I get back to the studio. Any DAW converts to MP3. All I can say is that I'm glad I waited, and did not buy an MPC. As an Ableton user, I did not want to be tied into the MPC software, and I wanted a stand alone device that catered to Ableton. I'm looking forward to the .ALS export feature in a future update.
I don't suppose I could import any Ableton instruments, patches or projects into this? I wish Ableton would put out an instrument like this. A real portable copy of Ableton. I'd buy that!!!
I've had one for a week and have barely touched it but I'm about to really get into it soon. I don't know what day but with a week or so.im looking at all the possibilities to see it's capabilities. It definitely is ace in my book.I love the work flow.I used the mpc beats software daw and I don't like drawing it in. It feels less organic to me. Plus this allows ease of use .
Nico demo. Have a question: for axample I have 3 scenes, but in the first scene there is a midi clip with a long evolving pad ( 30 bars), when I go to scene 2 then the clip from the evolving pad of scene 1 stops, but I like that it continious playing that long clip. Is there a way that it the clip of scene 1 is continue playing. I saw that somewhere in another video how to do that, but I don't find it anymore
Man I just got a Force that may be with me (lol), and from ten's of youtube reviews i watched, to speed up my learning curve, you are the best. What a great easy going look at the workflow. thanks, great job! I also watched you before, in an interview with Nick Batt showing off the extend 64 drumpad mode with note repeat and, that keeped me hooked, I am loving my first Dawless device ever :) Just one question, when you did the 64 drum pad with note repeat, could you choose an individual note repeat setting for each pad or was just the main global arp/notereapeat setting affecting all at the same time?
soooooo it has CV/Gate can you send LFO's from force to modular????? can anyone answer this? or is there a difference between gate/note cv signals.. im confused on this one.
Thanks for this clear and personal insights.Good idea to do this Q&A I work in theatre sounddesign and have been using Ableton and mpc4000 for many years and looking for a hardware backup/replacement solution. The force ticks many boxes and the workflow looks like a big timesaver. For my work it would help to have extra audio outputs. Is it possible to connect an usb audio interface. Also I can't find anything in the manual about midi routing/filtering.Looking forward to the ableton integration.Keep it up.

Is there a way that I can record notes from the Push2 into the Akai Force. Right now I have the Push2 connected onto a usb hub leading to my MacPro. I'm using a Komplete Audio6. I have 2 1/4 inch cable coming out the main channel on the back of the audio6 leading to the instrument channels on the back of the Akai Force. I'm getting the signal from the Push2 when I play the notes on it, but I can't record it. I open a track on the Akai Force then I go to inserts I/O then I tap the speaker icon and then when I play the notes that's when I get the signal from the Push2, but then again I can't seem to record the sounds coming from the Push2. Can someone please guide me on how to connect them properly, thank you @akaiprovideo. By the way this video has been very helpfull.
whats the mem specs on this...doesn't seem to say on the Akai site. I know there were lots of complaints about the 2gb ram on the live. Is it the same on the force...if so have they at least allowed an extra slot to add more or made it upgradeable. If it's still limited to 2gb, then theres not much point in me getting this over my Live. Shame as I just don't like the Lives workflow. Too much time drilling through menus etc..
I can see two stereo outputs, Can i map some scenes to one Audio OUT pair and another scene to another Audio OUT? To have it connected into mixer like two decks?
Great stream and in depth insights. Could you next time go a bit more deeper into the round robin style playing and 'setting up' of the pads. Also could you shed a light on whether it is fairly easy or not, to use the clips/tracks for euclidean type of random rhythm (not the random function of the note event generator). Maybe some insights on whether it is possible to do polymetric/polyrhythm. I haven't read anywhere or seen in any other Force video whether the clips/tracks can play in alternative play directions, like for instance forward, reverse, brownian, random.
Finally a tutorial that starts to explain how to actually so something with this tool. Still missing a ton of fundamentals. Seems like i go from over view to advanced. There is not enough in between. You need a Lynda.com style tutorial a-z. I like what you're doing but there are huge holes in these tutorials.
Questions: Is gonna able to import midi? How to export? This Forcé needs to generate stems somehow. Aré you gonna support some kind of overbridge? MIDI out for instrument tracks?
As.you record bulild your performance and play over several minutes, does force have a master track that records all your build and performance so when your done you can hit play and force plays back the entire build performance star to finish as it was done/performed live just like it can be done in Ableton Live.
Come on Nick! You're supposed to be the lead product manager for this product, but you didn't even give us a full hour! Also you have less than 10 comments here, but zero direct replies from you 🤨🤔... Approach and execution is just as important as the content you create.
im sure it must have some kind of bit rate reduction effect, seems like a very standard technique since samplers were invented. just look up if it has sample or bit rate reduction. might find it in there as a Lo-Fi effect, and the various amount of bit or sample rate reduction will yield the effect you are looking for.
Yeah I would just perform the automation and record the performance. Then use the list view (filtered by automation event) to edit the automation change points.

Nick, are your tracks on I tunes, Spotify etc? And it was cool to give props to J. Dilla, that was righteous, and I didn't know that he had passed. Looked it up. One can easily make the mistake that this is genre specific. It is not. Please! upload more videos, just like this, getting started making your first track. In two genres if possible... (had to ask)

How many are here trying to learn about the Akai Force instead of mastering what they already own? Get off this video and dig into what you already own which is probably enough to craft some real magic if you stopped chasing squirrels.
I’ve had this thing for over a month only... can’t finish a song with the damn thing, and I haven’t seen anyone doing it. It is just playback of scenes and for full song it is a rather frustrating workflow. The machine is nothing but a fancy sample playback system with the usual DJ shit. And for that there live.
