I think the Gen 5 Kickr has the right idea, they just fell way short in the execution. They could have made those Axis feet a LOT more cushy and thereby more effective for side-to-side float.
To the guy that dropped this. I’ve been in three Dollar stores and can’t find that ball. Can you follow up with how it’s worked out and details of a ball that works. Diameter, foam or air filled?

Very interesting video. I have a Kinetic Rock and Roll which is great but it would be nice to be able to enjoy a good quality smart trainer without sacrificing the lateral motion. Is your idea still working well for you as it has been a few months since your video? Have you made any further modifications etc? Has the Kickr ever come off of the balls during a ride? So that the balls do not get out of place is falci makes it possible. 1- Use screws of the same diameter as the originals but without the hexagonal side (thread on both sides) 2- the ball make a small hole and introduce and adjust the ball and the screw as necessary. sorry bad english

Brilliant! I did it with a Nerf football cut in half and places in the same way. It actually works.

Love the idea. I use half Nerf footballs in similar fashion on my Computrainer. The slight rocking motion really helps.
Are these foam or air-filled balls? Do you have a link to some similar ones?
