For some reason it feels like, someone really sex deprived with no knowledge of how female friendships are, wrote this script

Directed by a male, written by one male and a female. It's like a privileged white male making a film on some colored people with a colored person whom he met while playing poker in Vegas. The white guy heard some slangs in the street, saw some guys standing in a line, then asked his Vegas friend to confirm those stereotypes and he went like, yeah man; and then the film was made and was advertised as a film promoting "black lives matter."

True female friends don't have to party hard and they don't talk absolute trash. I loved the bonding between female characters and true woman empowerment in Laapataa Ladies movie.

I mean some female friends do party hard. I don't like this movie but I don't agree with the idea that you shouldn't show such things in movies. Woman empowerment doesn't mean you should only show women as perfect without any flaws or vices.

I guess true female friends would be inappropriate instead it would be better to say that most of the female friends aren't like this but it do represent the privileged female demographic both in terms of financially and family support which obviously are very small numbers and the writing of these characters are very ignorant towards majority of women

@@shreyapalodhi5268 that's true and i guess the reason is most of audience was male during animal movie which supports the idea of vanga and that's horrible, movies like veere di wedding, thank u for coming was also not liked by many women forgot men and rightly so because for a large number of women it is not at all relatable
Secondly I guess they should try to make movies that actually talk about women's regular day to day problems which a large chunk of audience can understand and if not dont try to teach anything in film make it a good light weight movie like recently released crew a good female centric film

@@user-em6fz5gq1o you gotta consider the entertainment factor of the movie though
For ex let's compare verri di wedding and Kabir Singh/ Arjun Reddy ( i watched Arjun Reddy because I am from hyd)
One movie shows the life story of a guy who is toxic but also madly loves a girl to the point where he even lost his doctors license for a while for which he worked so hard
Then you have verri di wedding which Is only about sex and darru and just showing them doing most rude and fked up things and still not facing any consequences
In arjun Reddy he faces consequences for being a dick and loses her lover
He faces consequences for treating a patient while he is drunk
And finally he understands what his friends were trying to tell him and finally accepts his lover back after she got married to another guy and who is pregnant
That takes a lot of character development

An online friend of mine suggested this movie to me. But as you have mentioned I already had reservations because of the name. My argument was iuf you wanna promote feminism, don't use a word like "veere" in its title, sense nhi banta. Before starting to watch the movie I hadn't even watched the trailer, I had just watched that Badshah song. And after watching 20 mins of the movie after 3 attempts, I eventually gave up. Nah, not my cup of tea. This kinda feminism is the only reason why new Disney movies have hit such graves. As Buchi Emecheta would say, this is feminism with a capital F.

Agar apne aas paas ke ladkiyo ke life se reference lekar ek feminism + friendship pe story likhna chahu toh there are some key points
    • Judgemental society: ' ladki badi ho gyi hai kahi hath se na nikal jaye'. ' Ladki per kyu Paisa lagaoge, wo toh shaadi karke ek din chali jayegengi'
    • Family : ' Zara ja kar Bhai ko paani dede' ' Are wo toh ladka hai na usse kitchen ka kaam nhi ho payega, ye sab kaam ladkiyo ke lie Bane hain'
    • Friends: 1)
∆That one bestfriend( reckless and daring): sharing our different views about life.
Planning to run away if got forced to marry a dude more than 10 years older than them
    Hating dowry system together
Correcting each other's mistakes if makes one
    2) make all of the characters have different family background
∆ abusive family (will hate marriage)
∆ not abusive but super conservative family (wants freedom) but doesn't want to hurt her family
    ∆ one with single parent
∆ one with super chill and cool parents (it will show what exactly is different in all the cases)
AND DON'T FORGET TO MENTION THE 'REPUTATION' IN THE SOCIETY
    AND lastly
The girl who have accepted the societal norms with belief that if anything happens it women's fault, the one who is not like other girls
    But but but
Also show what exactly affected her to make her mentality like this, YK what humans do is if everyone laughs at a joke that one person who didn't even get the joke starts to laugh, maybe she just wanted to adjust in this patriarchal society

The biggest irony is that during the promotion of this film, a reporter asked Kareena if she believed in feminism, to which Kareena replied, “I believe in gender equality, I’m NOT a feminist”, and Sonam hooted “Woo” after she said that - like how do you go from pseudo-feminist to anti-feminist in a few moments LMAO🤣🤣

I just want to say dhanyavad,🙏thank you times infinity. For any females who are going to say that this video is against progressive feminist movie, then please first understand what feminism means. Be it male or female, having sex with whomsoever you want doesnt equal to being progressive or independent. So please go and watch 90's TV serials like aarohan, late k balachander(ek dooje ke liye) movies and tv shows like premi. Real progressive feminism of a woman who fight against all odds in a patriarchal world with self confidence and valour while being classy. Aval oru thodarkathai(1972) movie was remade in so many indian languages and rekha ji played in hindi for which she got filmfare nomination. A woman who supports her family fighting against odds and chooses to remain single without any love or sexual relations. Thats real feminism. Veere di wedding and likes of it only again prove that women are nothing and only are about sex.

why do people associate these kinda movies to feminism. This is miles away for feminism is also a understatement. Kareena kapoor in the promotion of this movie herself said she isn't a feminist and you should've seen what sonam did. she vooed like kareena said something groundbreaking. tell me how people who are not feminist would know how to make a movie about feminism. Its a movie with 4 females in lead. That's it. Just because it has female's in lead doesn't make it a feminist movie. By that logic were zindagi naa milegi dobaara and Dil Chahta Hai movies about Men's right and Men's issues awareness

I think Sonam Kapoor acted well in Neerja. Sawariya piquéd my interest because uska beta hero, iski beti heroine isliye dekh liya. I have seen only 3 other movies having Sonam Kapoor, one made me happy because she is hardly there in the movie (Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. chhota hi role hai to kya acting lagega) , one ekft me confused (Delhi 6.. music chhor ke kuchh samajh nahi aaya) and 1 other made me sad , because bhale hi bahut gandi acting karti hai, whitewasher Sanju film mein jo us character ke saath behaviour hua waisa kisi ko na mile... film to ajeeb thi hi, despite Ranbir Kapoor and Kar Har Maidan Fateh

Yaar I liked it. Even four more shots is nice brainless watch. I watch these for the pretty people, pretty clothes. It’s like Desi satc. Satc also had issues. But we don’t dissect it and see logic in it. We just enjoy it for those days when we want to watch pretty people in pretty clothes in nice places, and escape our own life’s issues. Respectfully disagreeing with your review for the first time. 😢😊
