What we say are opinions only so I had something to say about Rani's Bengali. I know how everyone is taking a toll on Alia being a national award winner has a horrible accent with her Bengali. I get it , that it sounded cringe but actually many Probashi Bengalis do sound like that. As a Bengali I have personally heard a lot of cousins and even their parents develop an accent while living outside Bengal. Rani's parents are written as people who did live in Bengal for quite a long time in life unlike her. Obviously their Bengali will be different from hers. Sometimes the probashi Youngsters sound like non native speakers and I don't think there's anything wrong with it. Rani is not really very connected to her Bengali roots. She's not seen taking part in the cultural programmes to. And hence I think that the accent was quite justifiable. Please don't take it as a hate comment. I agree it does sound cringe but she already gets a lot of hate, I just don't want to increase that by doing the same thing.❤

Oh my god, the HOTTIE from Choker Bali is playing Rani's dad!!! I'm so shocked right now!!! Also, the scene where Rani is making the laddoo without cleaning her hands reminded me of the scene of Crazy Rich Asians, where Rachel was making dumplings with the family while she was talking to her mother-in-law.

You made me want to watch the movie. I started it. Ranveer's character cringed me out and I stopped it. but now I am thinking of giving it a try. Coz you're just awesome.❤ An opinion- If TV commercials include both man and woman, I am pretty sure that take away is going to be that women are mandatory in domestic chores. Men can and should cook and clean with out women too. Women have always been in these commercials. I don't think there is something wrong if men take the roles now. It's like saying till now men occupied most of the CEO positions, in order to show equality show men and women both at the leadership positions. It paints a image in minds of gendered viewers that women can't function in leadership position without men. It makes the whole point redundant. And just because Rani's family is not that gendered doesn't mean every work that she does should ignore gendered society she lives in.
I would argue Rani definitely set an example of women being good drivers. She purposely came the wrong way on a busy road and managed to not hit anyone else except Rocky. She hit the goal. Literally. As Rocky would say and agree, 10/10 driving skillz I thinks

I saw it yesterday and while I was skeptical at first when the trailer was out... of late I wanted to see it because "reviews". Made me laugh and cry, because some parts I identified with and the core family drama feels relatable. My only irks were not giving much backstory development to Jaya Bachchan's character and leaning in too much to the senior romance without letting it go as a beautiful memory... because, essentially their respective grandchildren were to wed so after a point it seemed weird. They did justify it somewhat by the end and then... what happened at the end was seemingly a sudden conclusion because something happened at the end of K3G and something happened in the letter based flashback of KKHH... which also makes me realise hamaare yahaan aisa hi hota hai. Log kahi pe bhi kitna bhi nafrat kare... family hai, d€@+# brings us closer and I have seen too many such things in my own to now ignore this trick by Karan Johar as Deus ex Machina. Seems kind of weird, but i'll allow it. I found the movie a nice blend of old school sensibilities and Gen Z ... without the toxicism of "cancel culture"

I saw it yesterday and while I was skeptical at first when the trailer was out... of late I wanted to see it because "reviews". Made me laugh and cry, because some parts I identified with and the core family drama feels relatable. My only irks were not giving much backstory development to Jaya Bachchan's character and leaning in too much to the senior romance without letting it go as a beautiful memory... because, essentially their respective grandchildren were to wed so after a point it seemed weird. They did justify it somewhat by the end and then... what happened at the end was seemingly a sudden conclusion because something happened at the end of K3G and something happened in the letter based flashback of KKHH... which also makes me realise hamaare yahaan aisa hi hota hai. Log kahi pe bhi kitna bhi nafrat kare... family hai, d€@+# brings us closer and I have seen too many such things in my own to now ignore this trick by Karan Johar as Deus ex Machina. Seems kind of weird, but i'll allow it. I found the movie a nice blend of old school sensibilities and Gen Z ... without the toxicism of "cancel culture"

I hate how they made Jaya Bacchan a cardboard character. I was convinced they were setting up for a great explanation for why she is the way she is….but no, she’s just bad. That’s it. Like she was looking at husband flirt with some other woman the whole movie again and again…you do feel kinda bad for her. Was expecting some explanation why she wasn’t compatible with her husband, but nah, she’s just evil coz…..tradition.
True, a little backstory wouldn't have hurt... I mean the film is 3 hours anyway..
