In Animal they wanted to keep Ranvijay's desire for his father's love as the main plot. We have had a movie with the same core story with Tripti Dimri as the lead in it. In Qala, the daughter craved for her mother's love and approval. The difference is, in Qala the reason why Swastika could not whole heartedly love Qala was very strong and clear. But in Animal, there is no such strong reason why the father was so indifferent towards his son. The only reason given was that he was busy with work. There was no strong reason given why Ranvijay was so obsessed with his father. Hence, although the core of the story is same, Qala did a far better job in showing the psychological state of its characters than Animal. Also the execution of Qala was so beautifully put together. Animal is just a shockumentary with no proper story line.

      @vaishnavikatakdhond2337 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

Yes, seriously. I felt I was forced to feel bad about him in the roleplay scene. I believe I am a very indulgent viewer and I feel the actors' emotions quite literally. So even if a story is so messed up it's on the director to actually make the audience tear up for even a ruthless criminal. So, I just feel like they set the core and were consistent with it but forgot to deepen it. I couldn't feel bad for the male lead even if I tried so hard. Even if someone argues that I didn't feel much because I didn't have the same experience as him..the title of the film is animal and the directly literally said it's a film about a man becoming a complete animal..I cannot feel sad even about a man a human being turning into someone inhumane. It felt like he is just pathetic.

Wtf?, it wasn't romantic song haven't you heard the lyrics? The song in bobby vs ranbir is "saari duniya jala denge" the whole song is ranvijay's inner feelings and thoughts about what is going to happen when they would fight, the whole song is confrontation of Ranvijay processing about the fight he would have that's why there is even a line which says "either he will live or i will" which means between ranvijay and abrar one has to die.
Both of them are cousins/brother that's why it is an emotional song
Also they are fighting without shirt to emphasize their animal nature
Animals don't care for clothing neither the characters in the movie do. Hence they both rip off their shirts and fight for life (just like an Real animal would fight irl).

If you ask, I wont say misogyny or some wierd alpha shit is the main problem in the movie. I will accept that thinking 'Yeah he is anti-hero, yeah directors vision'... But man the story was so so weak. The movie was "Supposedly" based on Father-Son relationship, but you never really see a bond-forming b/w the two. Then you'll say its Love-Hate relationship, but even then atleast show me that happeing regularly!!! Half the time this man is either having sax-sux or giving random irrelevant gyan!!! Like tf why? Poocha kisine!! So now I'll go watch a movie for violence but its hardly 15mins of all 3hrs... The movie was much more about the toxic relationship between a father and his son. Throughout his childhood, he's been seeking love from his father. But due to his absence, he finds himself in a state where he thinks he's perfect than any father figure he has. We may don't know much about the childhood, but the scene where he enacts his childhood with his father particularly sums up their relationship. Never got any kind of love from his father, only has bad memories with him, grows up to become a violent person and starts to kill other students. I know the movie should've focused more on that relationship and less on Tripti, but that's the director's vision.

The movie has awful plot. It felt like watching Ekta Kapoor serial.
If you r not lead then you hv no characterisation. Checked ✔️
Numerous characters only to give exposition and then vanish.✔️
      Body double. ✔️
      Plastic surgery.✔️
      Over the top bgm.✔️
      O negative B blood donation/ cancer. ✔️
      Wtf is plot? ✔️✔️
Like where is the perspective of his father? Why he is reluctant to help his own family even when his own daughter is bullied?
In Tamasha we could see the father's pov and their was beautiful back and forth btw Ved(Ranbir) and his father on why they do what they do. But in Animal no such writing choice was made.
Nothing is explained about his father ,when this movie is supposed to be a tale b/w father and son.
Anil Kapoor is basically reduced to the idea of "absentee father" who will only come, slap his son and goes off screen.
Tripit's character got worst treatment of all. So Ranvijay knew Zoya was a mole yet he choose to have an affair with her! *Amateur writing 101*
      The movie is Vanga fanfiction.

They literally built his love story so beautifully and showed his loyalty in multiple frames. But in the end he ended up cheating? I HATED that story play. What a bullshit twist. Oh there’s a spy from the enemy. Let me not torture her like I would do to a man, let me sleep with her and cheat on my wife so she falls in love with me and spew the truth. 😐 oh and let me impregnate her because I’m an alpha. If he was (or portrayed as) a psycho I’d have been fine with it. The dialogues and incoherency of the film just made it really not enjoyable. The story may not have been unique but the technical aspects of the movie were creative and innovative. But the best parts were the symbolism and narrative. I have not seen that many mainstream Bollywood movies that showcase such excellent symbolism and narrative. But Animal is surely an exception. But film is done by director. Director as per screenplay created nearly apt consequences. Only leverage director took is not involving police, courts because story is set in a fictional world. No one likes him except children and cousins. There is nothing wrong in portraying bad characters unapologetically. This movie is not good vs evil. Then your points will be justified. This is b/w two hyper eccentric evil individuals who can go to any extent for revenge in the world that is.

For example stalking or chasing women until they say yes was a very direct influence from 80s and 90s. In a foreign country where an Indian guy stalked a women was given bail on this facts cause he knew that's how one professes love.
