Do you know if Pandory fixes the issue of MAME and FBA games that are added to the DX from being rotated 90 degrees? It’s not all roms but I’ve tried adding different versions of scramble and also most of the Fantasia roms and they all display rotated 90 degrees.
For that you'd need to add a config to rotate it. Unsure if you need pandory for that, but it's certainly possible to have each game with its own retroarch config. We are working on something for this regarding Tate games
I found that the graphic quality optimization option is not working anymore (even turn on its still with pixel graphics) after pandory. Anybody know how to fix this? Cheers😊
awesome mod, gents. having to do the old school drive letter assignment batch file editing is so elegant compared to over complicating things these days. the script seems to be a treat. i have mine installed in my Big Red MVS! keeping it DOS plays nice in win7 environments also!
Can for 1.10. We still need to implement it for 1.11. Edit the pandory options file and find diagnostics line. Change out "Hold start" for none (check retroarch info online)

great job , the pandora DX or CX have a problem with PS1 game resolution on a CRT , games lik street fighter EX and tekken 3 should be higher than 384x224 , they run with sam resolution as neo geo , so the problem is ps1 game are so blury on CRT they should be run at 480(interlaced) , is there any FIX ?

Sorry, I completely missed this comment. If you have a DX then PandoryDX will work no problems. In regards to horizontal / vertical switch- you can do that with Pandory 1.10, but we are making it much easier to do with the next version which should be released in the next few days. Auto fire I think you can activate by holding the first button then tapping start (check the DX manual for that) - and regards to other emulators, we have something lined up for the next version of Pandory- but the DX is far too underpowered for Dreamcast, Naomi or Atomiswave- sorry- you'd need to buy some other hardware for Hokuto no Ken / Dolphin Blue.
Install PandoryDX, then basically copy the games directly to the microsd. If you have a strange clone with 9000+ games, you may have issues adding the games, as they (stupidly) max out the games menu, which messes up things. There is no need to use pandorytool to add games.
Everything is working great for me but all my mame games are now super narrow. Pac Man even scrolls as you go to a side. Does anyone know what file to modify to correct this? I am running on a 1080P via HDMI cable. TIA

Incredible work! One question. I'm running a DX on a 640x480 CRT in an arcade cabinet and on most older games I get loud pops and clicks in the audio. I'm experiencing the same thing when connecting to my TV with HDMI. However, I tried switching to the CRT/15khz mode and even though I can't see anything (since I dont have a 15khz monitor) I can start games, and all audio problems are gone. So, is this simply due to the games running at the wrong speed, or is it v-sync screwing the audio up? If so, is there any way to disable v-sync on specific games?
What things are compatible with Pandory? Because I've got a Pandora TT (evidently, a Pandora 30S) and it's stuck in Traditional Chinese. I'm not sure how to beat this; I've tried all the cheats mentioned online. 1P + Start at boot doesn't work. It's annoying as hell! I can only see a new firmware as a fix.
@@jessragan6714 the problem of any of the clone systems, is you don't know what you'll be getting. We don't state they're compatible as there's multiple that share the same name, but are totally different from each other. If you want an answer to your question, you'd need to share a photo of your games list menu, any options screens, and the main board. Outside that, you could find something that you know is compatible, or go for an already open system (mini pc with batocera for example )
@@TeamPandory After lengthy manputations, I have determined that this Pandora Box is actually a Pandora Box DX. 26880 games, I think. The DX and TT match up perfectly where the UI is concerned.
So weird. I haven't got the .cfg for the overclock? Is it all preset to be overclocked now? I've noticed a few games that it's messed up but I've got Evelator action returns and Darius Gaiden on my Saturn so...not too fussed! It's wonderful being able to play event mode on the Samurai Showdown and street fighter III and Alpha games. You guys really did do an Amazing job! Shinobi and Wonderboy have never looked better! Edit: Darius Gaiden was always Janky

Something very strange is happening with regards to my audio… it’s only happening to nes, snes, and genesis games.. I seem to be getting a crackling popping sound on some roms.. it’s not my speakers as I have tried multiple different speakers and it has the exact same sound.. kinda like a crackling a fire makes.. it’s so weird..
@@TeamPandoryI have the same issue. It created the backup folder and moved the movies and 3 roms files there but never created the pandory folder on the SD card. V1.1.1I have a screenshot I can upload but I reburned the original sd card and deleted a bunch of roms to make sure it had enough space. It still says it needs more space and wants to delete PS1 Barbie. It had 20.8GB free of 28.4GB.

I've installed Pandory 2.0 on a DX model but i notice that when the screen scrolls (vertically or horizontally) there is a lot of shimmering, there a way to fix this? i've been checking the video options but i saw that they are not available on this version, i have a Dell 2007fpb 4:3 monitor with 1600x1200 resolution, thanks in advance!
It should depend on the game. If it can't scale up perfectly you'll get visual issues like that. Saying that, we've had reports that 2.0 doesn't install correctly on windows at the moment. Can you try 1.4 ?

PandoryDX is for the Pandora Box DX (3000), DX Special (5000), and King of Air 2. Although some variations of the DX may be compatible, we cannot guarantee it due to the sheer amount of clones.
@@TeamPandory Right. I'm just having trouble getting the Pandory DX jailbreak software to even install on a flash drive. It's like, "can't find drive," over and over again.
@@TeamPandory Okay, I misunderstood how I was supposed to use this jailbreak. After using Pandory DX directly on the SD card in the Pandora Box (not formatted SD cards), it worked... or at least applied some generic patches. Hopefully those will help!
Sorry to say, you can't. The DX is too weak to run N64, and the only way (currently) to run another emulator (a500, etc) is to use pandory as shown in this video. For N64 and later systems, you're better off looking at a mini PC and install batocera to a usb stick.
I understand that it is not powerful, however for Smash Bros, Mario Tennis and Mario Kart 64 it is profitable. that's why the query. If there is a form by pendrive it would be fantastic. @@TeamPandory

As retroarch config files are pretty difficult to work your head around, we changed the system as to edit pandory.xml to change settings. You can still use Pandora 1.10 in case you want to try yourself with the retroarch config files
@@TeamPandory OK, thanks. I had a look at the XML file, but I'm not sure which setting there gets me 1:1, unstretched video for all systems, which is what I really want. Also, credits entered in the menu are returning to zero after exiting a game.
@@lmtliam I think that's a bug for the pandora box DX. For the 1:1 you need to change the aspect ratio to the required setting. Unsure what you need it depends on the output monitor

What's the news on dip switch access? I take it these changes wouldn't be possible through the actual Pandora's front-end options menu. That'd be a massive undertaking I imagine! Goddamnit... I knew there was something I'd forget. Dip switches work for fba, fr1 hold down start button, but it'll be start, a and b for the final public release.

@@johnboydojo bilinear off and a 4:3 aspect is default. But for those on a 4:3 monitor it'll squish twice, so change the value to 23 and it'll stretch to the size of the monitor. We are working on the second early access build, things will no doubt change, so when the final release is ready, things should be yet even easier for users to configure.

Is there a tutorial on the newer version? - I installed it and the config files are different. For the most part all is great, but some games won't apply changes when loadings flips from 33% to 66%. The Picture will still be blurry and have the old scanlines.
The install is similar, but everything now is changeable by editing the pandory.xml file that is on the microsd. If you're still having a blurry picture, I'm guessing you're using this on JAMMA / arcade. If you want to use the method similar to this video, try using pandory 1.10, which is still downloadable from the github or from the email that was sent.
@@TeamPandory Thx for the Info. No it's the family edition and only some games. - "Undercover Cops" for instance. I played around with the XML and added the rom name there and now the changes will apply but the game will run very slow. Adding the game additionally a second time will have it work sharp & fast (like the standard pandory settings will apply) but the PCM sound samples are broken. XD - I'll just play around and will eventually find the settings I need I guess. But other then this rare occurence (it's really the only game I'd regualry play that has this) Pandory is really, really, really great!
@@DSNadine there have been reports of sound glitching that can be fixed by using a hdmi sound extractor. We have spoken about this in our discord. Come on down if you want to chat about potential fixes.
Is the original DX the only one that's been hacked? I've been working on a plug-n-play build and was just going to get an EX, but this seems like a much better option overall. Also, is adding SNES games an options? I'd like to be able to add the Dragonball and Sailor Moon fighting games.

i have been at this for a little while and edited the cfg thru a bunch of settings.. what would be the most accurate with a 4:3 VGA CRT? I have tried aspects of 21/22/23, but they all seem to distort the image a bit. is there a way to bypass all processing for aspect ratio and let FBA just show what the source is?

Hi Pandory & all On my windows PC I downloaded the Pandora v1.12, updated the DX.bat file with sim card drive location. Upon running the file as administrator I got an error that the file could not be found. Has anyone else had this trouble? Also can this be done on a Mac instead? If so how do I run the .bat file? PandoryDX is specifically for ... Pandora Box DX systems. The Pandory tool also has compatibility for a variety of systems, but you'd have to give me more info regarding your board. What software is it running? What was it sold as? And how many games?

Yep. Install Pandory, then edit the pandory.xml to change DisableDips to FALSE. When in game, hold start to bring up the soft dips screen

For the PG3D, yes. For the DX, you should be good. Check your email (or spam) a day or so after you've sent a coffee- should be there.

No, it works with the Pandora Box DX (and clones of it), but if it has over 9000 games the clone will have issues with any games you add.

No, that's set on the main board and cannot be altered without advanced technical knowledge/ reflashing the onboard memory.

I tried this tonight and it’s so awesome!! Games run so much better 😎 awesome work!!. I tried to edit the config files but I can’t seem to find the sh file anywhere.. I have searched every folder but it’s just not there.. I must be doing something wrong?
The .sh file has now transformed into the pandory.xml file. Check that file with notepad++ to fiddle around with settings.

Something very strange is happening with regards to my audio… it’s only happening to nes, snes, and genesis games.. I seem to be getting a crackling popping sound on some roms.. it’s not my speakers as I have tried multiple different speakers and it has the exact same sound.. kinda like a crackling a fire makes.. it’s so weird..

hi, just jailbroken pandoras box dx with pandory 1.1 and i dont have file mentioned pandory sh. any ideas? i want to adjust some settings
Open up the pandory folder. Pandory.xml is the file you want to edit with notepad++.
@@TeamPandoryI have the same issue. It created the backup folder and moved the movies and 3 roms files there but never created the pandory folder on the SD card.
V1.1.1I have a screenshot I can upload but I reburned the original sd card and deleted a bunch of roms to make sure it had enough space. It still says it needs more space and wants to delete PS1 Barbie. It had 20.8GB free of 28.4GB.

I've installed Pandory 2.0 on a DX model but i notice that when the screen scrolls (vertically or horizontally) there is a lot of shimmering, there a way to fix this? i've been checking the video options but i saw that they are not available on this version, i have a Dell 2007fpb 4:3 monitor with 1600x1200 resolution, thanks in advance!
It should depend on the game. If it can't scale up perfectly you'll get visual issues like that.
Saying that, we've had reports that 2.0 doesn't install correctly on windows at the moment. Can you try 1.4 ?

Geez, what IS compatible with Pandory DX? I've tried multiple flash drives and SD cards without success.
PandoryDX is for the Pandora Box DX (3000), DX Special (5000), and King of Air 2.
Although some variations of the DX may be compatible, we cannot guarantee it due to the sheer amount of clones.
@@TeamPandory Right. I'm just having trouble getting the Pandory DX jailbreak software to even install on a flash drive. It's like, "can't find drive," over and over again.
@@TeamPandory Okay, I misunderstood how I was supposed to use this jailbreak. After using Pandory DX directly on the SD card in the Pandora Box (not formatted SD cards), it worked... or at least applied some generic patches. Hopefully those will help!

How can you add emulators for example from Nintendo 64 for pendrive?
Sorry to say, you can't.
The DX is too weak to run N64, and the only way (currently) to run another emulator (a500, etc) is to use pandory as shown in this video.
For N64 and later systems, you're better off looking at a mini PC and install batocera to a usb stick.
I understand that it is not powerful, however for Smash Bros, Mario Tennis and Mario Kart 64 it is profitable. that's why the query. If there is a form by pendrive it would be fantastic.

Does anyone know why the Retroarch config files are missing? I have no retro-1a.cfg or anything else indicated in this video.
As retroarch config files are pretty difficult to work your head around, we changed the system as to edit pandory.xml to change settings. You can still use Pandora 1.10 in case you want to try yourself with the retroarch config files
@@TeamPandory OK, thanks. I had a look at the XML file, but I'm not sure which setting there gets me 1:1, unstretched video for all systems, which is what I really want. Also, credits entered in the menu are returning to zero after exiting a game.
@@lmtliam I think that's a bug for the pandora box DX.
For the 1:1 you need to change the aspect ratio to the required setting. Unsure what you need it depends on the output monitor
@@TeamPandory I'm trying to install 1.10 and it's telling me it can't install because the card has already been patched. This is after I deleted everything from the card and restored the original Pandora files.
What version of mame does this board use?
Mame 0.78, some odd version of xmame, maybe 0.37? And there's a mame2010, but the board is too slow to push that core.

@@johnboydojo bilinear off and a 4:3 aspect is default. But for those on a 4:3 monitor it'll squish twice, so change the value to 23 and it'll stretch to the size of the monitor.
We are working on the second early access build, things will no doubt change, so when the final release is ready, things should be yet even easier for users to configure.

Edit: My aspect ratio is 5:4?! But I've found I can still output to 720p and it auto adjusts just fine. Doesn't look stretched in the slightest, weird huh?

Is there a tutorial on the newer version? - I installed it and the config files are different. For the most part all is great, but some games won't apply changes when loadings flips from 33% to 66%. The Picture will still be blurry and have the old scanlines.
The install is similar, but everything now is changeable by editing the pandory.xml file that is on the microsd. If you're still having a blurry picture, I'm guessing you're using this on JAMMA / arcade. If you want to use the method similar to this video, try using pandory 1.10, which is still downloadable from the github or from the email that was sent.
@@TeamPandory Thx for the Info. No it's the family edition and only some games. - "Undercover Cops" for instance. I played around with the XML and added the rom name there and now the changes will apply but the game will run very slow. Adding the game additionally a second time will have it work sharp & fast (like the standard pandory settings will apply) but the PCM sound samples are broken. XD
- I'll just play around and will eventually find the settings I need I guess.
But other then this rare occurence (it's really the only game I'd regualry play that has this) Pandory is really, really, really great!
@@DSNadine there have been reports of sound glitching that can be fixed by using a hdmi sound extractor. We have spoken about this in our discord. Come on down if you want to chat about potential fixes.
Is the original DX the only one that's been hacked? I've been working on a plug-n-play build and was just going to get an EX, but this seems like a much better option overall. Also, is adding SNES games an options? I'd like to be able to add the Dragonball and Sailor Moon fighting games.
Nope, the pg3d games series, saga ex2 and a few others are all good to go. Check last year's Pandora box top ten video to see a few more options.
I added pandory tool to my pandora dx special 1.4 but i dont get half of the files. I dont get any of the system config files or the retro . I just have a pandory txt file

We have tested and have the DX Special working with a different set of files. FR2 will be totally compatible with the DX Special.

Yes, install pandory- then edit the pandory.xml file. There are forcewidth and forceheight values which you can change per game.

Another quick question - when I used to hit the coin button it would add credits "in game" now, it just adds time (pandora's box overlay) - how do I get it to register the credits in game again?
Turn off the time / coin feature in the DX settings menu.

i have been at this for a little while and edited the cfg thru a bunch of settings.. what would be the most accurate with a 4:3 VGA CRT? I have tried aspects of 21/22/23, but they all seem to distort the image a bit. is there a way to bypass all processing for aspect ratio and let FBA just show what the source is?
For the purest image, you need to use integer scaling with an aspect of 21.

On my windows PC I downloaded the Pandora v1.12, updated the DX.bat file with sim card drive location. Upon running the file as administrator I got an error that the file could not be found. Has anyone else had this trouble?
Also can this be done on a Mac instead? If so how do I run the .bat file?

Yes, did that. One thing I noticed was the !pandoryDX.bat file and ones for 3D etc did not have .bat in the name. Not sure if this has any impact?

If it's corrupted then Pandory won't install anything. - Check the archive. There should be backups available on that site.

PandoryDX is specifically for ... Pandora Box DX systems. The Pandory tool also has compatibility for a variety of systems, but you'd have to give me more info regarding your board. What software is it running? What was it sold as? And how many games?
