Jose, you have so much knowledge and experience in the field of printing. But more importantly I love the way that you impart your knowledge, I don’t mean via the medium of TH-cam, we all know what a amazing tool that is, but your teaching style and technique and the icing on the cake is your character. I learn so much from you. Thank you.
An incredible art form, wow! You have taught us so much about this process and its wide scope and limitless possibilities. I have a small RV that is both my home on travels and my art project. I did only the bathroom in a turquoise and coral color scheme with pink flamingoes as a motif. In the bathroom only, I have flamingo shower curtain, window curtains, flamingo mug, soap dispenser, soap dish, bath mat, and even a coral soap. Now I can make a luminous flamingo print onto aluminum (water resistant), and some bath tiles. I'm so jazzed! Ha ha ha! If you want a strong designer look, you have to exaggerate the motif a bit, but still keep it tasteful and balanced. Very amusing ideas. Not to mention the incredible color saturation on metal vs paper for photographs. Almost a holographic effect. Thanks a lot, Jose! Muchos gracias! Subscribed. Also thank you for no music on this channel, what a joy!
Wow! I am as thrilled as you with those results!! I have exhausted myself searching for ways to transfer inkjet onto other surfaces with little success and results usually not very sturdy. I am going to have to learn about sublimation! I am surprised with your experience of your pigment ink not clogging. I had the idea it would be worse than dye ink. That is great news. I have an old Epson sitting with clogged heads for probably more than 5 years. Lots to learn. Thank you.
Sublimation inks are a totally different formulation! Can not be compared with normal photo inkjet inks. So the fact my set up has not shown clogging problems is irrelevant to other normal inks. The results on this specially coated aluminium are simply stunning!
Yes, it is absolutely stunning! I am working on a garden flag project as a gift for my 89-year-old mom. I want to make it on plexiglass. I have a die cutting machine, which affords me the option of using vinyl which is said to be weather resilient. But I would like to include a photo image of her "pet"/wild bluebird. Would you say the sublimation process would be durable for such a project -for outside?? And if so how could I get someone to do a sublimation print for me reasonably? thx
how are those vintage tin signs reproduced. They are tin signs you can buy on . Ebay or Amazon. Its tin metal so is Sublimation used for tin or are they printed. Cant find information anywhere. Thanks
So beautiful and delightful photo. And which is Moab or Epson typically of kind papers photo? And I can print on the Canon pro 100 on the metallic paper which typically on the photo paper metallic Moab or Epson or Canon photo paper ?
Sorry Monica but I am.not sure what younger asking here. The video is about sublimation of images on ACTUAL sheet aluminum that is treated specifically form this process. It is NOT common photo metallic paper used on normal inkjet printer. It is real aluminum.
You can but you need specially inkjet coated aluminum for Inkjet inks. And you need a printer with a straight media path. What I did is a heat transfer process also using an inkjet printer but with special inks and special transfer paper and a heat press.
Sure but the companies that peddle this media want you "Float" mount it bare. It looks levitated 1/2" away from the wall! Comes in glossy white or clear and matte white or clear. The clear shows the bare aluminum surface.
Thank you. You mention making a sublimation coating. Isnt that just clear/invisible coating? The white background would be separately done? - This is what brings images to a full vibrancy i think & to make sure that white can stand the heat of the baking process. Hope thats the correct idea.
I do not make any sublimation coating myself I buy it ready to use. The water based one you do mix a 1/10 Clear with the White base coat and then after application of that coat to apply a pure clear coat on top of that. Or use the Spray non water based one and with that you apply the white base first IF YOUR WANT a white under coat followed by clear. On Glass I just apply clear unless I want a translucent effect.
Allure from Breathing Color. But you need a straight path printer and laminating equipment afterwards. Aparently these plates require protection which only lamination can provide. P600 nd P800 I'll be able to print on them. Not Canon.
Is the print transparent? Would the aluminum have to uncoated, for instance could you do this over an anodized surface or would the color of the anodizing come through? Excellent results btw, looks amazing!
Transparent??? No. It's a regular Epson printer using refillable carts or CISS filled with the special sublimation inks. ANYTHING you plan to sublimate onto MUST be coated with a polymer coating or it will not accept the sublimation. So what you suggest will not work unless it is precoated.
Well therebare tons of WF models. So I can't specifically point you to any one seller. But as far as inks go I would go with precioncolors or inkowl. Check to see who also has refillable carts for your printer.

That is wonderful Jose, a real interest for futher thought!

The sublimation process opens up a whole new avenue for print products. So happy you came upon this.
It's a very exciting and amazing process!
Can the same printer be used for general photos as well as sublimation please? Thankyou.
starting from scratch what printer would you recommend for this type of printing for color images
Any EPSON printer that allows 3rd party refillable carts. I use A-Sub sublimation Transfer paper.
Great work jose.
Thank you.
Excellent vibrant results! 😉
Seems to truly produce great result. Especially for those who love POP!

Sure but you can only sublime to surfaces treated a polyester coating. Like with the mugs or aluminum I am using. Or to 100% polyester fabric.
Canon Pro 1000 Can print with sublimation Paper ?
any links for the ink used inthe 1100 printer?

That looks fantastic! For aluminum transfers, is that just a plain sheet of aluminum or anything special to consider?
how are those vintage tin signs reproduced. They are tin signs you can buy on . Ebay or Amazon. Its tin metal so is Sublimation used for tin or are they printed. Cant find information anywhere. Thanks
They may be press printed. Like not sublimated on to. I've never heard of sublimation tin metal.

Nice result... Would look nice in a normal square edge profile black aluminium picture frame without glass.

Watching many of your videos, you have much to teach me with each one. Glad I found the right channel.
I love you videos thanx Jose
Though I have a question can I sublimate photo in tha wood using Epson ink jet with sublimation paper and ink
Yes.
Which metal can be printed without any sublimation coating ?

Where and what is the coating for sublimation...I need that in my life.
Watch my sublimation playlist.

Hello Jose, which sublimation metal blanks do you use and where can we get purchase from? Enjoy learning from your vids thanks for sharing.
