I owned two. It is a very simple, great looking car with lots of emotions. But hell, it has some stupid problems and its build quality as the interior is just garbage. Would never buy it again.

The C6 grand sport is such a sweet spot. LS3 reliability, widebody, big brakes, targa, and can be found with a manual. Such a great car.
I tend to prefer european cars over american ones but this corvette is something special. What a car.
@@barno978 I too tend to lean European but have owned American muscle. I’ve driven the C5-C7 generations and the C6 really was a great combination of old school with just enough modern. An updated infotainment unit goes a long way with the interior. For the price, really hard to argue with.
@@Nelbone Absolutely agree, I've never owned a C6 myself but a close friend of mine had one a few years ago (manual) I drove it a few times and man I still think about that car from time to time
This Corvette series is probably one of the most beautiful cars of those years, it really attracts the eye.

2:43 coupe was available only for Z06 and ZR1, targa was standard on all other models and optionally you could go for a convertible
Recently went on the Autobahns...last being 2019 and I was surprised how German Drivers have really slipped in their discipline on the Autobahn. Saw numerous examples of drivers stepping into the overtaking lane at 100kmh or similar with fast cars approaching.Stay safe.
I went in 2006 during the world cup. On the A1 out of Munich, the driver discipline was surgical. I returned in 2020 and saw what I assumed were American drivers doing all sorts of dumb crap.
@@brianjewell4139 I first drive on them in 2007 and had a similar experience of great discipline by drivers. 2024 it's a lot different.
🪴It's the same everywhere you go and some spots are better than 🧙 others at different times of the day on different days.🐝

Someone needs to get this dude a C6 ZO6 built motor with a big blower.
You really need to test an LS3 with the motor completely redone with bolt-ons: heads, cam, intake, exhaust, and tuning. Those cars end up in the 575hp range and will pull to 7k with ease, more than enough to blow through the 200mph barrier, even in a Grand Sport widebody.

For the Europeans here, I'm sorry it's hard to get these. I know American muscle isn't as refined, but it's a different and raw feeling all around with these. Come to America. You can pick up a nice example for 30k-ish usd

People cutting you in the autobahn is why you can't really enjoy it... too dangerous
@@dimmacommunication Good to be aware of it, not all stretches without speed limit are actually safe. People still do 150ish on average.
@@MyRealName Max I would do safely is 180 km/h , I did some emergency braking cause fools were costantly cutting me.
If people didn't cut others you could do 350 with ease.
@@dimmacommunicationyeah but if your driving 180mph it’s going to be hard for someone to judge that distance closing when changing lanes … I’d say the car doing near 200mph with cars around is more in the wrong

Rule of thumb is to always check the left lane as in autobahn there's unlimited speed, enche you can find people going 220mph even... I've seen videos of people going 250mph on modded twin turbo R8s ...

310 KPH real GPS speed is like 325 KPH on an American car's speedo. That quick for a C6 considering C5 and C6 are much better looking than C7 and C8. Interior trim is great too, nice and simple, makes you feel like a driver

Ich habe eine ls3 als Targa mit paar Kleinigkeiten dran gemacht und 509 ps. Einfach ein traumhaftes Auto mit richtig viel power. Meine 500 ps sind schon geil ,ich will gar nicht wissen wie viel geiler dann die 600 ps sind 😍😍
the transmission coud prob do whit a remap as it changes gear sometimes at 5600-5700 rpm im sure peak power is above that redline is what 6600rpm
I want a c6 with the ls7 so bad. Ls3 is good too tho
Unfortunately I crashed mine near NYC. Was the best car I ever owned.
One other thing I forgot to mention in my previous post was the fastest I have gone was in my 08Z was 162 in 4th gear 7100 on the tach.

manual c6, no matter z06 or not, z06 is just raspy as hell, normal ls3 is good enough and so much less maintenance

The wide body c6s look awesome but in truth is not as fast as the base model body horsepower being equal. I have hade over 20 vettes in my day and loved my 08 ,zo6 above all the others,it was a monster with just cold air and tune. Like I said though the wide bodies have to much down force and drag.

the factory stock C6 ZR1 with 640hp which is also supercharged is much faster than this one. 200-300kmh in ~14 seconds, this one in ~27 seconds..
Wrong, stock C6 ZR1 does 0-300 in 33~ Seconds. 0-100 3.6 100-200 in 7.2 and 200-300 in around 22~.
