In this GoHighLevel tutorial, I show you how to quickly and very easily setup an email address in GoHighLevel.
With the new updates, it's become much easier and much faster to setup an email address using a dedicated domain, which is what you want to use to maximize your email deliverability.
We used to have to manually copy and paste all of the required DNS records ourselves.
But now, with a couple clicks of a button, we can authorize GoHighLevel to create the records for us now! Much faster!
But you still need to manually add the dmarc record, which I show at the end of the video, to make sure you avoid the spam folder.
Here are the details for it:
Host: _dmarc.yoursubdomain
Value: v=DMARC1;p=reject

Nice Video! I have a question though. I own an agency, and I want to know if I have to create a dedicated domain for each client sub-account and domain or I can just set up a single dedicated domain and use it for all the clients.

This is helpful thank you. The part that I was confused about was being able to put anything before the @custom domain - so even though that particular username doesn't exist within Google workspace or something else the system will consider it valid which is interesting to me. What if someone were to draft an email in their inbox and send an email to that one that essentially you made up..... Any idea where that email would go?
Good question. It goes to the conversations tab in HighLevel. You can also have it forwarded to your regular email (yahoo, gmail, outlook, etc) that you can reply to from there. Just go to the forwarding part of the Email Services tab.
Thanks.. got the email sending to work... my questions is where do the reply emails go from customers? Right now they are only showing up under the "contact" in GHL.
They'll be in the conversations tab. But you can also have any responses forwarded to your own personal email if you want. Go to settings, email services, and then reply forwarding.

is this also possible to manage through GHL/Lead Connector or do i need a separate provider like Gmail, outlook etc for a business email inbox? 😃

I just use the conversations tab in GHL. I also have any email responses forwarded to my personal email.
Hey Matt! thanks for the vid. Do you warm up the emails prior to sending? Also, is there a way to cycle through 3 email aliases rather than sending all emails through just 1 email? or does it not matter?
Sometimes but as long as you're not blasting out thousands of emails every day, you should be fine. And you can connect multiple emails but you'll need to manually switch which one you want to send from. No it doesn't matter. Most people don't care about the email address as long as it's a real address.

What I don’t understand is that I have 10 different users within the same company. They also can sign in with their own email accounts from their profile. So I would have a dedicated domain but also they would have their own email. It’s veeery confusing for automations, replies , etc .

Thanks for the tutorial! I have one question though. Im trying to add my domain and the system says that the domain is already point out to an email server. So there are already MX &SPF records for the domain. Now it gives me the option to create new ones or use the same.
What should I do?
I would just use a subdomain. Much easier and avoids those issues.

What. if I am inside an account as a team member/user in one of my clients business account, will it mess anything up since he has his company dedicated email? Would it be better to do with the client watching?

I did in the video. It's an easier setup if you're creating email addresses for multiple clients. But if it's for your own business, you can just use the primary domain.

Ok so is it necessary to have a email address setup in gsuite for this? Because i didnt and what i have done is i have changed the reply to adress to the email where i have a user up on gsuite. Please let me know. Lastly thanks for this great video

NEED HELP. I have a domain and created a subdomain for this. When i click enter, it says that the subdomain is pointing to google and does not let me move forward .

using as a dedicated domain for sending email (alias) from the workflow inside the gohighlevel when a contact is replied to the email then getting the replies in the gmail not in gohighlevel.
How did i get the replies in Gohighlevel?
Should be in the conversations tab. But you can also forward any email replies to whatever email address you want. Go to settings, email services, click on Reply & Forward Settings, and then add the email address you want any replies to be forwarded to.

I have 5 emails connected to my domain already with another CRM system. Is there a way of moving everything across? I want to keep the emails and not add a sub domain.
Anyone else having issues setting up the Dmarc value in Godaddy as shown? I'm just getting 'Record data is invalid' when following the steps shown above.
It's working on my end. Maybe double check the values you pasted in to make sure they're correct? Can also try calling GoDaddy and have them create it for you. Their support is really good.

It does that automatically. But to make it easy to find, you can set up an automation that notifies you when a prospect replies to an email.
in the custom record, for the yoursubdomain, its just the first part of the subdomain? like contact, not the entire domain

Hi Matt, I already have hosting for the domain i want to use with highlevel email and I already have 3 email accounts on the hosting account.
Would creating the email the way you mention affect the existing email accounts I have on that site?

I do not use mailgun with the emails, they are created in my cpanel hosting account whis is why I would like to know if I add what you mention would I still be able to use my existing cpanel emails?

When I added the _dmarc record, I received a little error symbol that says "The record content has to contain a valid policy tag: p=none;, p=reject;, p=quarantine;" even though it has "p=reject;" Any ideas or recommendations to get the error to go away?

Sometimes you have to reverify it a couple times. Usually works within 5-10 minutes. If not, contact HL support and have them take a look.

No. You buy your own domain and then create a subdomain with the clients business name and connect that for their email address.

@@jackmermigas9465 because it's a sub-domain. For example: myclientscompanyname.myowndomain.com You just create one for each new client
How do I warm up the emails if its a domain?
Guys please remeber it is important to setup SPF and DKIM records before you set up DMARC. DMARC is supposed to be set 48 hours after setting DKIM.

why do you need the subdomain and not just mail from the main domain name?
I like to keep the domain I use for the websites and funnels separate from the domain I use for email just in case something happens to one of them, it doesn't impact the other.
I feel crazy rn. Watched and followed "exactly" say 13x at this point and still nothing... i get to the part where the test email fails... it's "verified" on DNS record but the from email address is where im stuck. Is it bc leadconnector is set up? Someone pls help bc i want to pull my hair out. thank you in advance.
more context: now im getting a notice "Unauthenticated email from ~mydomain~ is not accepted 5.7.26 due to domain's DMARC policy"

Why create sub-domains though? Why can't we just use the main domain?
You can. The subdomains are primarily used when you're setting up email for multiple clients using the same domain name. Much cheaper and easier than buying a new domain for each client
And does it provide some form of protection against getting a domain /sub-domain marked as spam? @@LeadsForLocals
but if i'm getting access to client's DNS management system, should i setup a sub-domain for their emails ("on-site survey" confirmation emails), or directly use their main domain for the emails?
And when using a sub-domain for emails, incase i end up ruining its reputation, will the mains sent from other sub-domains of the same parent domain also be permanently effected because of it?

it's a bad idea to send marketing emails under your main domain incase it gets marked a spam. If that happens then you're in trouble

Yes. Just add the image to your media storage, copy the link to it, create a custom value for it, and then paste that custom value into the email.
