    I work in a hospital as Respiratory Therapist. One of the major problems that a lot of patients come in with is cardiomegaly, or an enlarged heart, which can lead to congestive heart failure. It doesn’t happen overnight, but over years of untreated issues like hypertension. Sounds like Taylor had probably had some health problems for awhile.

      I was just horrified that forensics said Taylor's heart weighted DOUBLE normal. That man was in terrible pain. I had a congestive heart proplem due to a prolapsed valve, which was not nearly as bad as what happed to Tayrlor. It was the most terrible pain that I ever had. Tthere was excruciating pain with every breath. I had tear rolling down my face until they gave me anesthesia. It was even worse than getting my foot crushed (which I would not recommend to anyone.) I hope his friends, fans and band members read this because they need to do whatever they need to do, to stop anyone from having this happen again.
      My message to Dave & Co. is this:
      I beg that you all will do what you need to do, take time off when you need it, have a check up, or whatever..... No amount of money is worth such incredible pain!

    Taylor was very outspoken about the tour schedule. Radio X (TH-cam "Liam Gahallgher for prime minister), his frustration with the schedule led to his album "Get the Money" after a conversation with Joe Walsh." He said as much during that June '21 interview with Rolling Stone (audio of that interview is online too). The covid lockdown made things worse for him. That needed break made it that much harder to return to that grueling schedule. What I find interesting though - the pathologist in Bogota didn't remark on the size of Taylor's heart, just the weight. It weighed double normal weigh of a heart for a man his age.
    Foo reps (publicists? Who did RS talk to?) denied everything, even his collapse on the plane in Chicago. I don't believe a word they said.

      Yes. Three and a half hour shows with that intense drumming needs more than a day between shows. That's not nearly enough recovery time. I don't think Taylor or anyone else knew about his heart. Taylor said his doctor told him he had an enlarged heart (well, he WAS very active with the drumming, mountain biking and trying to build muscle to not be so whippet thin). What are the implications of that though with that schedule, not to mention the 8,000+ foot altitude of Bogota?

    Dave, as much of a lovely guy we all know him as, seems a very driven individual. I can see him being a somewhat hard taskmaster to push the band a little further beyond what might be expected. I am trying my best to be tactful..but he has a dark side. He would also give Gene Simmons a run for his money for being a shrewd businessman in the industry.

That aside, in nirvana, he was a hired drummer and kurt should have been more contractually specific of daves' role, and imo kurt should have had specific language in the contract, that he is the songwriter of the band. I believe his friends before I believe anything from Foos’ management…what would his friends have to gain from lying about what he’d said to them? Hell, even Neil Peart had remarked about how much of a physical toll drumming takes on the body after years of playing…Taylor wasn’t just making things up about how hard it was getting for him. They should’ve listened to him, and backed off instead of ramping up the touring schedule, and he’d likely still be with us…not like the fans wouldn’t understand. Rest easy, Taylor. 🙏🏻♥️

      god, it is a story as old as time. This happened to Elvis. He needed to take a break but died the morning of a tour departure: benzos, opioids in his system & severely enlarged heart. He wasn't always overweight. The dude was a comet that shone bright and flashed across the sky for a short time, shining his light on everyone he touched; just as Taylor did.

    I believe there was a lot of truth in the Rolling Stone Mag article. I think it's very possible someone threatened Matt and Chad, that's why they retracted their statements. I wouldn't believe any statements from the bands representative ( management ) ! Sounds like he was played to death !!! My question is , Who was with him the night before and why hasn't there been any investigation of his last 24 hours ?

    • @chrisperez8821
      @chrisperez8821 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +9

      So he was played to death yet his own son played with the foo fighters at his memorial concert? It wouldn't surprise me if some did actually take Matt's story out of context to spin a narrative because that's how the industry works. And Chad's story about the plane and his exhaustion could have been from drug use. Theres an interview with Howard Stern and Taylor, just Taylor not Dave. This was a while after his overdose, Howard asked him straight out if he was sober. Hawkins said "I have a system that works for me". Clearly he was still using, basically a functioning addict. I wonder if the person that was with him that night was his dealer and they are trying to hide it because everyone knew he had a "system". The Foos are on their own label. No one owns them they literally do whatever they want. If he wanted to take a break as bad as it sounds they probably would have. I don't like the narrative of "close friends" said he was played to death. Unless you have actual facts then don't spin something for clicks.

    I think there is a little bit of truth to both sides of it. Also, I noticed in the interview for Dave's book, when Hawkins was there, Hawking displayed every sign of drug use except for passing out. It's a vicious circle, He took drugs because he needed them to feel better. The more he took, the more he was endangering his life. I suggest that the Foo's stop being such work-a-holics. Life is short. Enjoy it.

      As I watched more recent videos, I think Taylor Hawkins was overwhelmed. At times, David Grohl did not look like a picture of health himself. He looks like he hasn't taken good care of himself. He;s not a 20 something anymore... He was sweaty and a little out of breath. I hope he learns from Taylor's plight and takes better case of himself. Hope they shortens their sets, and take more breaks too. Flying all the way to Australia for one big gig is too much. Take some time to smell the roses.

      Dave’s a narcissist who always hated being the the shadow of Cobain. He hated being “just the drummer in Nirvana” and feared being fired by Kurt when Kurt was having problems in life. So Dave killed Kurt, fast forward, Dave’s still bitter people talk about Nirvana more. So he made Studio 666, kills Taylor with Cymbalism (so to speak)… then kills him in real life. The cymbalism of him hating being the drummer and using the drum kit as a murder weapon in the film to strike back at people who thinks that’s what he should just stick to.
      Dave is so fake, everything about him seems to be for PR.

    • @RockandrollNegro
      @RockandrollNegro 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      It's not just Dave. All of the bands that were able to "live like rockstars" in the pre-internet era saw a calamitous decline in revenue when physical sales went 'poof'. Whereas touring was seen as promotion for the album, now live shows (and merchandise) are the primary money generators... albums are promotions for tours. Everyone has suddenly become the Ramones: touring 350 days out of the year and taking two weeks off to record a new album that isn't going to sell, but allows the record label to front you money to continue touring.
      That's why you see octogenarian bands like Kiss, the Rolling Stones, and the Eagles out here lipsynching their Greatest Hits catalogs for $450 a ticket, and why you see the Foo Fighters touring 300 days out of the year. They could've easily done 90 minute shows like most bands, but that's not Dave Grohl. Dave set an incredibly high bar for live performances that he (for better or worse) is stuck perpetually trying to top. It's great for fans, not so great for the rest of the band.

      Its obvious to many people that Dave is in love with playing and creating music, as well as giving 110% onstage every night. If you have ever seen one of their shows you would get it. They are alot more successful the more they get into their career, but they continue to get better if you ask alot of us true fans. To say they haven't put out anything good since wasting light is a joke.

It's something that you really want to do but it is hard to do just think of any professional athlete. And with that comes a lot of pressure I know a lot of I've heard of a lot of players that would play hurt before they would put their backup in because they don't they're afraid of losing their spot and Taylor was in quite a seat. Also people say Taylor played for the best drummer from the 90s well Dave newitt Taylor was a better drummer than Dave I'm not trying to be a jerk but I just really miss the hell out of Taylor. The blame is on the whole organization for not listening to him about his issues and concerns. Mostly management !! He would still be alive and we wouldn't be talking about this if they had been not so greedy and thought about him instead of themselves. Something that's not being talked about is that , it's the same management that managed Nirvana. Think about the similarities.

      In interviews he was so looking forward to doing his side project with NHC. They were talking about doing shows that year. When was he going to fit that in? Makes sense what the friends said..the touring schedule of the Foos kept getting bigger and bigger. Side projects you can get to go home whenever you like and make your own schedule.

    • @timtam79
      @timtam79 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      He seemed more at ease with Chevy Metal and felt he could be more creative with Coattail Riders and NHC. He called the shots there and controlled the pace. He told Classic Rock Magazine in 2019 there wasn't a lot of room in the Foos for him to be creative. No one knows the level of those drugs. I suffer from a chronic pain condition and have been on many of those same drugs at the same time. Opiates, benzos, and tricyclic antidepressants which are used for many conditions including insomnia and digestive issues. He also had pantoprazole which is used for reflux. He smoked and had apnea. The enlarged heart should have been looked into when he collapsed on that plane. A lot of people depended on the Foos performing and I am sure he felt the pressure. It's easy to judge when you do not have all the facts. We do not know he overdosed. They never said he did. His heart gave out. It's just that simple.

    About 1% of you will believe this but Grohl isn't the nicest guy in rock like he's portrayed. For those of you who know, you know. The music industry is completely controlled by Satanists and you don't become as successful as Grohl unless you play ball. Grohl's father also held a high position in Government back in the day, which has also been subverted and infiltrated. Grohl is no better than Courtney. He's actually worse. I'm not crazy, I'm educated about the situation. Grohl has blood on his hands.....twice.

    If you start using, it's because there is something missing.You are not sure what, but the drugs stop you from hurting, especially emotionally, and the gruelling touring and the drugs will eventually kill you, and Dave must be wondering why his band mates keep dying too. But touring now is far more hectic because of the advances in travel and shipping, but it's more about relevance, and how much touring you have to do to stay relevant in the 3 second attention span of modern music fans, and how fickle they are now. That's what really killed him.
