I’m 43 and have wondered what this series was called for years. I can remember watching it as a child and have quite clear memories of this episode but could never find any information because I couldn’t remember what it was called. So thrilled to have this appear!
I'm also 43 almost 44 and I remember watching this show when it aired in '85. I was 6 years old and our family was lucky enough to have recorded all of the episodes except E7 on VHS and watched them over and over. It was easily one of our favorite shows and still is. Later we got E7 in the early 90s from the SciFi channel. And then much later I was able to find someone selling them on DVD from EBay who had transferred them from their VHS recording to DVD. This show really should have ran for much longer than it did, but I'm so glad it was part of my childhood!
I watched this when I was a kid... for years I couldn't remember the name of the show. All I could remember was the upside down gun... then I remembered (last night) that it was set in an alternate universe and BOOM found it! Didn't realize that Mike from Breaking Bad (Jonathan Banks) is in it! Glad you uploaded it! Brings back memories!
I loved this show. Been looking for it for ever. I love how they say in the beginning how their boat sunk and woke up on a beach but All of their hair looks great😁😆😆
This is my favorite TV show from the 1980s and I'm just really watching it now and it's still my favorite TV program I actually have traveled internationally side this is really really real because I've experienced exactly going to an alternate reality and my childhood
not a FEW episodes. the show has 8 episodes, which is a lot for what was a binging show back before there really was such a thing, other than nighttime soaps. there's a whole kind of 7 hour movie in this series.
then do yourself a favor and see the Judd Nelson movie MAKING THE GRADE because she's the ingenue, and one of THE cutest girls ever. added to that her name is MUFFY.
Not exactly :/ Back then "Flat Screen technology" was using a diamond tipped circular saw and a part of the wall in your living room to hide the back. :) Not limited to movie props.
I read somewhere where fans were debating whether Otherworld was better than V and vice versa. This episode pretty much ties them together because "Diana" is the Mr. Rourke of this vacation resort.
Imagine the day when in the fine-print of your insurance policy you read that "Transit and travel to and in `otherworlds` is not covered by this policy".
Barbara Stock as Scarla Raye made an outstanding work but in this role Cher would have been more suitable: I believe both her and her mother use actually Kaloma.

Actor Tony O'Dell who played teenage Trace Harden here was a part of Johnny's crew of biker friends and a member of Cobra Kai in the original Karate Kid movie and later reprised that role in the Cobra Kai series.

I never could catch or understand what they were extracting or creating from all those folks on the tables. Was it some sort of pleasure hormone or youth serum or both? Nonetheless. It was nice to see the very handsome Sam Groom in his short trunks! ...Wonder whatever happened to Groom and the other cast members? I do recall seeing Gretchin Corbett in a few things back in the day, as well as Tony Odell.
"Life essence" is about all they said... somehow "sucking the people on the tables dry"... somehow or another they sucked the "life essence" out of them and collected the "drop" that I guess "perspired" out of their lips (and was absorbed by others the same way, evidently... The "how and why" was of course very very fuzzy... You have to kind of put it together from snippets seen throughout the episode-- a bit here and a bit there... Evidently it was some sort of "upscale coke/aphrodisiac" in the capital city, because it was mentioned a couple times in the episode there would be hell to pay if they didn't deliver their "quota" on time... The "Otherworld" was a thinly veiled reference to the Soviet Union and their form of government by all appearances... Later! OL J R :)

The Sterling family already has more innate personal happiness than the average person living in this creepy, authoritarian Other World, which is why that scientist said "We haven't seen readings like his in a long time!"

One day they are in one place another day they end in all another place with no explanation not to mention the behavior of the family very very anomalous. It makes Sense in Otherworld Logic, look at through the Lens of Otherworld, plus the Wife gets The Beast in the Mansion episode later and it's perfect Otherworld Logic

Yeah I watched the premiere in the hospital because my appendix almost ruptured, so I've never forgotten it, I'm50...

This was such an underrated show back in the 80’s. They should have let it run for a few seasons!
I saw this as a teen and it stayed in my memory for 35 years. What an amazing job they did looking back. We didn't know how lucky we were.

That is exactly what it was. Jai alai fizzled out over the decades in the US...last time I heard; it was still popular in Miami.
