Nice catchin! looks like it might be good time to fish the river soon too 🤙🏽 maybe ask Joe if its good time to get out there 😂 i wouldn’t mind some advice haha. Been floating this river since i was a young boy but no one to fish it with
I love fishing the Tangipahoa river putting in at one bridge and even camping out between the two always catch a lot of bass on a 6" black worm or a 1/8 ounce white spinner
Great video. Mr Joe and my family are good friends. He’s definitely mastered the art of navigating that river and still being able to put fish in the boat.
Like you Todd, this brings back so many memories of fishing rivers out of an old flat-bottom skiff and an OLD canoe back in the eighties! GREAT VIDEO! Joe is awesome!
Could you do a video with a pre-trip plan, the actual trip, and a post-trip review? I am curious about what methods/patterns you use to determine how and where to fish. It could be a completely new area as to not give up "spots" but give us something to extrapolate off of.
Gotta love those spotted bass - the closest thing to smallmouths here in Louisiana. One alternative to the float/vehicle idea is to wade fish. The Tangipahoa is wadable in the upper reaches, provided it isn't too high. I like to go up the tributaries - smaller fish, but they're easier for me to navigate.
Special video. Reminds me of me and my buddies back in the day. All we had was "self propulsion", so running into log jams, tree limbs and anything else that could hamstring your drift was part of the norm. All we could afford were black and gold Rapala's and we climbed many a tree to get them unhung. But GAWD did we catch fish. So, Mr. Marsh Man, we got great saltwater and freshwater. fishing....... are you a duck hunter ? Tis the season !!! Would love to see a "cast and blast" video. Thanks for bringing us along.
Man strike king has a spinner bait called a mini king they have a silver and red one I get it at Walmart it is awesome in the rivers I use it on the tickfaw doing what y’all just did . Awesome video
Great vid Bo😂
MAN!!! at 9:00, that log sticking out by the bank brought back a FLOOD of memories. I can’t count how many times I jumped off that thing!!!!
Love it

Believe it or not, I've never once thrown a worm in the Tangi
@@MarshManMasson I live just down the road from it I usually have a fluke tied on also
@@MarshManMasson usually there is no need to, but a pegged Texas rig Senko will tear them up in some of the deeper slack current spots
Good fishing video, but I think I saw some undersize bass.
By whose standards?
Awesome video

Best wishes and stay safe during the hurricane.
Thanks. We've dodged multiple bullets this year, but we're not going to dodge this one

One cool old dude!
I’ll never get tired of watching videos from this man, wish he uploaded everyday lol.
Those spotted bass really do fight hard. I find them in a creek behind my work.

Yeah, that's definitely an option, and a lot of people do it

Lol Mob Boss Masson. He's whacking fish.
Y’all could have caught another limit in the two hours you had left. That was a great bite. I enjoyed the video brother
Oh, we did, but we released them, obviously. We estimated we caught about 60 total
Nice job! I want see how you cook them 😋
Really enjoy watching the river float trips-The spotted Bass are probably the best eating out of all the Bass species too. Looks fun for sure👌🏻
Thought they were spotted bass.
Are these not largemouth Todd? I didn't think we had smallmouth in Louisiana. Are they hybrids?
Sorry didn't watch the whole video, you mentioned they were spotted bass towards the end.
We caught a handful of largemouths, but spotted bass predominate in those rivers. Locals call them "Kentuckys"
More fish or cigarettes that day Bo?
Man these videos are so awesome I hope I can do that one day
