I have been trying my damnest to get into Love & Rockets but yes it can be so wordy. I have acquired the hardcovers by Gilbert Hernandez but I started off with Human Distropiatism GN. I have been curious about BPRD, I almost grabbed a few issue on Batman Day. Glad to hear your thoughts on all these series.
Haha, yeah, I was also disappointed of myself for not totally enjoying the first Love and Rockets. But I won't give up, just recently got the Love Bunglars from a later period... It's good to be reminded of David Boring, probably the last book of Clowes I'm missing. Great video, enjoyed it very much!
Very interesting haul! I personally have never heard half of the titles in this haul, so thank you for the intro to them! Might check them out at my local library, if they have them. Also, that X-Files/30 Days of Night crossover reminded me so much of an X-Files/Ghostbusters crossover that I picked up quite super recently too! Are you gonna do any review videos on this haul, any time soon? Oh! And welcome to the world of vlogging, too! Liked and subscribed, so that I can see more of you! :)
Nice haul! there where many books that I have not heard of here. Some of these looked interesting to me, and dont worry about your English, I see the videos I publish as a good way to practice my english. :) It is Nice to see that there are other Swedish comic book TH-camrs out there :)
thanks Daniel! I've been really worried someone would hate me because of my abuse of the language. but yes it is true, i have to see it as a nice way to practice my english! 😀
I agree with Daniel, your English is fine Morgan:) I lived in Germany and one I got fluent with Deutsch, I found transitioning to English shifty haha, but you are doing great!
I am surprised you didn't care for Lazarus, I think it is one of Greg Rucka's best works lately. I adore David Boring but prefer Like A Velvet Glove much more. However I have to say that I prefer Charles Burns any day over Clowes's work. I felt the same dissatisfaction with Daniel Boring on my first read. I implore you read it another time, it may read better a second or third time:)
I think I will give Lazarus a second chance some day, maybe when I'm out of reading material :) Yeah Burns is slightly more interesting than Clowes, but still love them both :) I will definatly read it more than once, maybe I can figure out what really happened in the ending
Really a shame that Morrisons greatest work wasn´t anything for you Morgan :/ Do you see yourself as more of a fanofthe art more so than the writing when it comes to the comic books?
oh, difficult question. Some books have great art but a mediocre story and some books have mediocre art and great story. At first I'm pulled in by the art but the ones that makes me think and feel are those that stays with me. As an example, I think the Hellblazer books usally are quite ugly artwise but the stories or the feel to it are so great that it compensates, kind of :)
