I say sell those paperbacks volumes of paper girls and by the hardcover, treat yourself! I hope you´ll like Animal-man by Morrison cause he wrote a comic before it´s age writing that thing! That Monstrous book looked beautiful even tho it had some scratches on it. I am not sursprised that YOU don´t like the HUSH storyline :P This haul made me think of yourcomic book budget for each month, is it a set and locked budget or may it cost whatever as long as you´re getting it?
Yeah, it will probably be a beautiful edition! But I think I will keep the trades anyway cause they have beautiful covers :) Oh yeah, it's quite an awesome book and in that oversize format I really don't mind the scratches :) Haha, yeah, so far I've mostly enjoyed Batman Gothic and Gotham Central. Next up is The Long Halloween! Do you think I will like it? Oh, I mostly order stuff by gut feeling. When my stomache starts acheing I stop ordering :'D so, no budget thoughts what so ever
I aggree on Hush not being as good as people claim it to be. But for a whole set of reasons. First, the plot and characters appearing is an absolute cluster fuck. It's like they're putting as many villains as possible in a very short ammount of time just to see what happens. Even Superman. I thought the writing was clunky. There were too may "Batman thoughts" text. It came to a point where it was repeating itself a lot. The surprise, well, you could tell from a mile away, I also knew who was Hush. And none of the characters really have a point to be doing the things they were doing, really. Like, serisouly, Killer Croc and the Joker doing these things for just a guy who's butt hurt about his parent surviving and not getting the heritage? Really? Did he manage to convince Riddler and all those villains to do all those things? For money and some surgeries? It was all so dumb. Harvey Dent, suddently forgets all his troubles and psycopathic behaviors all of a sudden just because of a face-lift. Nah. It made no sense. I knew the story from the Arkham games as well, but it was a little different there. And the story that plays out in the game had much more care put to it. Hush felt like it was, well.. rushed. Heh. Not really a fan. But the art was good. Altough, it was a little over-sexualized, yes. Most of the times I don't give a crap about this over-sexualized stuff, I even enjoy it, but even for me, it was very obvious and a bit out of place.
