Moggi! This is pretty informative! I've always thought Charles Burns as a one-shot-graphic-novel kind of guy, and you're right, I only heard of Black Hole, but not the rest of his other titles. I've always admired his black-and-white art style, or just his art style, in general, so the rest of his titles seems pretty worth it to pick up. If I could find them. :P

Qisthina Quraizha Thank you for watching! check out the last look album, it should be the easiest one to find. and it's not that expensive either. it's not in black and white though but still quite beautiful :)

I still enjoy his art style, in general, even if it's not in black and white, so no worries! Thanks for the recommendation and I've already added to my wish list! :)

Bought a copy of "Free Shit" off of eBay France. It was not FREE! Expensive, but I had to have it. Still waiting for it, in the mail..

    Hey Moggi,
I'm working on a youtube series examining different artists and authors in detail, my first being about Charles Burns. Would you mind if I used a clip from your video during a montage of Charles Burns fans? I'll link to you in the description and cite you in the credits, if you're alright with it.
    Thanks!
    Greg

Burns is one of the guys I show people to try to convince them to get into comics/graphic novels. Tim Lane's 'The Lonesome Go' and 'Abandoned Cars' are great black and white art and good little stories. If you see em cheap I'd recommend checking him out. Keep up the good videos man. You along with Earl Grey and Comic Kkrakk are the guys who I have most similar tastes with on youtube : )

Earl Gray made me take second look at Burns, an artist that never appealed to me when I discovered him the pages of Heavy Metal Magazine. His artwork didn't appeal to me. What makes it work for me is the writing. He is a strong writer who is able to execute his ideas with artwork that is cartoon-like and deceptively Innocent .

You wanted to know about stuff you might be missing? I didn't see you show Charle's "Modern Horror Sketchbook" published by Kitchen Sink Press in 1993. And also "Close Your Eyes" by Le Dernier Cri in 2001. It is also an interesting sketchbook..

blblblblblaa .... sometimes words don't come easy :) Cool collection! Thanks for the Shout-out. Someone tries to get 150 Euro for the "Free Shit" on the Bay, that's a very own interpretation of the title "Free shit". The "Curse of the moleman" issue is worth a frame for sure. As to the headwound of Doug in the trilogy: that's not a tumor .... SPOILERWARNING ....
he was beaten by that jealous ex-boyfriend. It's one of the many puzzle-pieces that eventually finds its place.
