- It has been a blast owning the Tesla Model Y so far and this is just another road trip experience. Had a full car so I wanted to share the experience with a full car to cover comfort and efficiency. I hope you like the video and the beautiful views of the Grand Canyon.

After talking to my friends further about the comfort of the back seat and it would have been better with 4 people as opposed to 5. Middle seat just isn’t very comfortable but you do have enough head and leg room. Hope this helps!
Might have helped to put one of the guys in the front seat.

Yeah, shoulder room for the middle seat is the problem. It's an inch or two worse on the Model 3.
Is there a headrest for the center seat? Looks like the top may pull up but nobody was using it if there was which makes me think it doesn’t exist.

Aww. I miss the canyon so much! I’ve been there backpacking every year for about the last 20 years. I’m from Canada though, so I won’t make it this year. 🙁 great to see you had such a great trip. Sadly, people die there every year, usually from doing something stupid.

Havasupai Indian reservation back in the early 2000’s was beautiful. The falls were amazing. Two of our friends had a really hard time on the hike though.

I copy someone comments from another video. This is mybe will helpful.
There really are just 4 key things you need to know about supercharging, all of which you can learn from those videos (he mentioned video from Out Of Spec Motoring). Here's a quick summary:
1. The charging speed is based on how much charge your battery currently has. It charges fastest from 0-50%, then it starts slowing down. To minimize charging time, you want to drive until you're at a low state of charge (I usually shoot for around 10%) and then charge up to 50-60%, which usually takes only 15-20 minutes. I'll then drive to the next supercharger and arrive again around 10%. Even though you stop more often, the charging sessions are shorter so you save time overall.
2. There are three different types of supercharger out there - be sure to learn how to recognize which is which. The difference is in their charging speed. The most common chargers that you'll find charge at 120-150 kW. The new V3 chargers charge at 250 kW. Then there are the smaller chargers that are only 72 kW. When you look at the charger on the map in the car, it should tell you if it's a 250, 120, 150, or 72 kW unit. Some places have a mix - the one you used at the place (Cabazon?) where the girl mistook your car for hers was a 72 kW unit. However there also are 250 kW units there (the normal sized ones) so had you picked one of those, you would have charged at 3x the speed! The 250 kW chargers look the same as the regular 120/150 ones, but the charging cable is thinner so that's the easiest way to recognize those.
3. Keep an eye on the charging speed. When charging, the leftmost number on the charging screen (in kW) shows the speed. While you're under 50% charge, you want to see that number as close to the charger's maximum as possible. If you're not getting that speed, maybe move to a different unit if possible.
4. At the 120/150 kW chargers, you may be stuck with slow speeds if there are a lot of cars there. You've probably seen the chargers are numbered 1A, 1B, 2A, 2B, etc... that's important. Basically, the chargers are wired in pairs - 1A and 1B share the same power, 2A and 2B share power, etc. If both the A and B chargers are in use, then the cars share power (first one there gets more and the second person to hook up gets the "leftovers".) So when you pull into a charger that isn't crowded, be sure to pick a space where nobody else is using the paired charger of the same number so that you get the most power. Of course, if you're at a charger that's busy with many cars, then you usually won't have much choice.

Son and girlfriend visiting next month and interested in road tripping to Grand Canyon. We are familiar with Flagstaff SC; where did you stop/stay/charge at Grand Canyon?
